Ski-in/ski-out doesn't get much more literal than this – the main Snow Summit lift is just six houses away, meaning you can be on the slopes within minutes of leaving the door. Back inside, soaring ceilings and generous windows frame the pines while a stone fireplace anchors the living room for long, unhurried evenings. When the day calls for something more, the covered veranda and hot tub handle the rest – whether that's morning coffee in the mountain air or a late-night soak under the stars. Big Bear Mountain Resort is a four-minute walk away.

Home truths

  • You'll need a car to get around. The driveway fits three vehicles, and there's no street parking available on this road. If your group is arriving in more than three cars, it's worth coordinating before you head up.

  • The home sleeps up to eight, but only seven of those can be adults – the eighth spot is for a child. Bear this in mind when planning your group.

  • The fireplace is yours to use, but firewood isn't provided. Pick some up locally before you arrive if you're planning cosy evenings by the fire.

  • The backyard is semi-private and separated from the neighbouring home by a low fence, so you may be aware of your neighbours during outdoor time. Also note that bedroom three serves as the access route to the back deck.

  • If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.

  • One of the bedrooms has a single-over-double bunk bed that can sleep up to three people – we think it might be best suited to children.
