The Open Road

  • 2 guests

  • 1 bedroom

  • 1 bathroom

  • sq/ft

The Open Road isn’t the swankiest home in our Berlin collection – it’s a little on the generic side and doesn’t get loads of natural light. Elements like the high-quality wood floor and moody photography prints help to inject some much-needed character. A real highlight is the private balcony – perfect for enjoying a glass of wine (or two). Volkspark Rehberge and Goethepark are also close-by, offering a moment of peace from the bustle of the city.

Home truths

This home doesn’t get as much natural light as we’d like – it feels a bit dark away from the windows

The walls could do with a fresh lick of paint – they have a few marks here and there

There aren’t any toiletries provided, or many cleaning supplies for the guests to use

It's lacking in personal touches – those in search of a lived-in home might want to look elsewhere

This is a long-term rental only – the host asks for a signed rental agreement, and a physical deposit needs to be paid before your stay

About Wedding

Known for its local and neighbourhood-y feel, Wedding isn’t Berlin’s most lively neighbourhood. Just like Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, it does, however, have its own unique identity. It’s traditionally a working-class district (think lots of old warehouses and factories combined with minimalist Weimar-era architecture), so it never feels pretentious. Wedding is also a traditional Turkish neighbourhood, so expect authentic Turkish food (and other cuisines with a cultural flair) all around. Well-connected by way of the S-Bahn and U-Bahn, it borders Mitte and Moabit to the south – and it's also home to Charité, one of Europe's largest university hospitals.
