You'll be charmed by this Tuscan apartment, housed in a 1470 palazzo. Fear not – there's no sign of crumbling walls or teetering towers here. Instead, you'll be treated to bright, sunny rooms full of character features like arches, terracotta tiled floors, as well as a mix of modern furnishings and carefully chosen antique pieces. All this is set off by fabulous views of Lucca's rooftops and the famous Guinigi Tower. The flow of the living room, dining area and kitchen means this is a home made for socialising, allowing you to take in the scenery from any angle. Being at the very heart of this historic, walled city, it's the perfect spot for those wanting to explore Lucca and the wider Tuscan region. If you want to check out Guinigi Tower some more – it's under a minute on foot, while Casa di Puccini, the birthplace of the great opera composer and now a museum, is a seven-minute stroll. After a day of sightseeing, find a seat in one of the nearby piazzas for some evening drinks before going up to your fairytale tower for bed.

There’s a buzzy nightlife scene centred around cool enotecas and craft beer bars. On Via Fillungo, you’ll find some of Lucca’s finest boutiques, with high-end...
