This idyllic waterside home’s timeless interiors are inspired by nature, with pale wood tones and pops of forest greens. Thanks to the large picture windows, you can enjoy views through the trees and down to the water from almost every room. And of course, no Finnish abode would be complete without a sauna. With its magical setting on the shores of Lake Pielinen, we imagine wonderful summer days just messing about on the water. This delightful wooden cottage has its own rowing boat, as well as a grill hut with views of the lake. Later on, stargaze from the outdoor Jacuzzi with a glass of Lakka liqueur. If you tire of exploring nearby, there’s the rest of the Koli National Park to discover. What’s more, there are plenty of skiing and snowshoeing opportunities during colder months – you may even spot the Northern Lights. Spend some time here, and you’ll get to see why this has been voted the happiest country in the world.
