This is the ideal home for a winter holiday with ski slopes and a mountain lift within easy walking distance, and cross-country trails from almost right outside the door. In summer there are lovely forest walks to enjoy and lake beaches just a short drive away. Inside the cabin, you will find a warm and welcoming space for your group to relax in, with a wood-burning stove for staying snug on those cooler evenings and a well-equipped kitchen for cooking a feast. There is also a private in-house sauna for soothing any tired muscles. This home is ideal for a family getaway in a beautiful part of the Finnish wilderness. 

Wild Pines

If you've been craving a rural getaway, you've come to the right spot. This charming cabin is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, as you'll be surrounded by verdant nature, allowing you to relax in peace. This home even comes with a sumptuous sauna, giving you plenty of opportunities to unwind every single day with a glass of red as you while away the hours in pure bliss. 

Our favourite place in this home is the cosy dining table by the floor-to-ceiling windows that offer you a lovely view of nature and the nearby lake – it's even fitted with lovely fairy lights that twinkle as you watch the amber glow of the sunset with your loved ones. Snuggle up in the hanging chair with a blanket as you delve into a brand new book, watching the local wildlife through the windows.

You're only a short walk away from Kuortaneenjärvi lake, allowing you to relax every single day as you watch the glistening waters – we recommend making a homemade picnic to enjoy here as the children play on the swing set. You should at least once experience the sunset from this spot too – we promise that it'll make an amazing memory.




Marble Cabin

Take a step away from daily life and retreat to the pastoral charms of the Finnish Lakeland. Rain or shine, snow or sun, you will find plenty to do and see here in all seasons. In the summer, spend your days by the waters of Tahkolahti Bay and Lake Syväri. The surrounding area features rolling hills and lush forests, providing plenty of options for hiking, fishing trips and meditative countryside walks. In the winter, you are just a short distance from the fourth-largest ski resort in Finland, as well as scenic cross-country skiing routes. After a day spent in the great outdoors, retreat to this picture-perfect log cabin, with its abundance of wood, Nordic touches and our favourite feature, the traditional stone-faced wood fireplace. After active adventures, we can think of nothing better than relaxing tired muscles in the Finnish sauna before cooking up a hearty meal to eat in front of the crackling log fire – before long, all worries will be a thing of the past.

Lake Breeze

Summers rowing your boat on the lake and winters skiing at the nearby resort make this home a magnificent base for holidays no matter the season. Thanks to the wood burning fireplace and the sauna, you’ll always feel cosy and warm in colder seasons. Rustle up a meal, sit in the dining area as you chat with friends over bites of food and chill out in the lounge with a glass of your preferred beverage. Incorporate sauna sessions into your daily self-care routine because who doesn’t love an endorphin boost and the health benefits that come with it? Ukkohalla Ski & Sport Resort is a short walk away and once you’re there, you can indulge in everything from cross country skiing and snowshoeing in winter to mountain biking and horse riding in summer.

Milky Quartz

A brand new chalet-style cabin overlooking the lake, this scenic home was only completed in 2022. In a magical setting, this place will have you feeling enchanted from the moment you arrive. 

Whether winter sports activities or the art of relaxation is more your vibe – you're in for a treat here as not only will you be within walking distance of the Koli National Park and an array of hiking trails starting from your backyard, but you'll also be positioned just 200 metres away from a sandy lakeside beach. 

With mushroom and berry forests all around and captivating views over the lake and mountains, it's easy to escape the realms of reality from this nature-engulfed paradise. And when you're done exploring for the day – your cute and cosy cabin awaits with open arms. 

Unwind in the private sauna after a day of skiing before proceeding to gather around the log burner fire with a warm cup of tea. There's enough space and all the necessary kitchen amenities here to cook up your own meals in comfort. Then, come evening time, listen to the peaceful sounds of nature and the surrounding wildlife – on a clear night, stargazing from the veranda terrace makes a nice change from watching the TV or burying your head in a book. 



Magic on the Lake 

There’s a quiet beauty about Finland’s archipelago in the Baltic Sea. The largest collection of islands in the world (there are more than 20,000), a stay here guarantees an unhurried lifestyle by the lapping waves. And you’ll certainly get the chance to relax and recharge at this cute lakeside cabin in Kasnäs. Set right at the water’s edge with its own jetty, this home looks rustic and simple (bar the distinctive slick of red paint) from the outside. But inside you’ll find a contemporary space that looks more like it’s jumped out of the pages of an interior design magazine. We love the soft grey walls, the wood-and-metal furniture, the lush houseplants and bold geometric print soft furnishings. The open-plan living/dining space is particularly calming; it's flooded with light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows, which also give you wonderful views across the lake. Outside you’re lucky enough to have access to your own waterfront terrace, a semi-private beach, a shared barbecue pit and a sauna right by the lake. Here you only need concern yourself with the simple things. Where to go for dinner, what time to go for a swim and what drink to pour when six o'clock rolls around. Bliss.

Little Red On The Jetty

As far as Finnish log cabins go, this one is pretty monumental – and an out-and-out winner if you’re looking for a holiday hideaway for an extended family, or hoping to share with friends. The separate lakeside sauna house is perfectly placed for indulging in some Finnish sauna traditions. A short dash down the wooden steps and you can plunge into the cool blue of Lake Päijänne. If you prefer to be on the water, rather than in it, hop into the little rowing boat for a bit of bobbing along. The lofty wooden home is only a little further up the bank, with a year-round hot tub just outside, and another sauna inside. There’s a generous wooden verandah from where you can survey the pretty lake views through the spindly, silvery pine trees. Out here, there’s space to enjoy the long evenings or starry skies and a gas barbecue to ensure you don’t go hungry. Inside, the double-height living space is grand but cosy, with floor-to-ceiling honey-coloured pine and a warming wood burner. Cook up a family feast in the in the generously sized kitchen after a day exploring the Päijänne National Park, hiking the Pulkkilanharju nature trail or cruising the inland waterways. 

Warm Honey

Experiencing this beautiful part of the world is on a lot of bucket lists, and with a home like this it's easy to see why. Built on a rocky slope, where the still waters of Lake Kuorikkajärvi lap at the edge of the forest, this place scores highly on location alone. Inside, with high vaulted ceilings, a mezzanine loft room and a sleek modern kitchen, it's less of a cabin and more of a sophisticated lake house. The living space has huge windows to frame those perfect views, and an oversized sofa facing the fireplace for cosy evenings indoors. But if you're here in the summer months, the chances are you'll be here for the great outdoors. Barbecue on the home's deck, light one of the campfires overlooking the water, and gaze at the stars from the shore. You'll have your own jetty and a rowing boat, so you can spend days in or on the water. There's a typical lakeside cabin for your private use, with a wood-fired sauna, but you'll also have the option of the electric sauna inside the home. To top it all off, the host can add in a few extras. Book the use of a Jacuzzi on your deck, or ask about meeting the animals at the farm they own nearby.

Ursa Minor

There's no better place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life than this charming log cabin surrounded by towering Finnish pine trees on the banks of Lake Päijänne. Though the setting couldn't be more rustic, the interior is all about contemporary comforts. The glossy kitchen is completely modern and well-equipped for preparing family meals, best enjoyed around the large dining table, while the living area offers plenty of cosy seating to curl up on, a flat-screen TV to keep you entertained and a crackling fireplace that's ideal for chilly evenings. Even when you're inside you can make the most of the scenery, thanks to the huge windows showcasing the woodland views. Spend your days in the great outdoors – go for a dip in the lake, take the rowboat out for a spin, do a spot of birdwatching from the expansive deck or explore the nature trails and interlinked islands at Päijänne National Park. When your feet are sore, relax in the private Finnish sauna or take a soak in the hot tub, which you can rent all year round.

Into The Mystic

Enter into the height of hygge living with this cosy cabin on the sprawling banks of Lake Solojärvi. Located just thirteen minutes from Inari, this lodge in the sticks has everything you might need for a tranquil getaway from the hustle and bustle back home. We love the timber-heavy interiors, striking fire and sliding glass doors that offer views of the picturesque landscape all around – as if you'd need reminding. Stepping out the front door, there's a decked terrace that leads to your very own sauna for the ultimate rest and relaxation. Whether you've been fly fishing over the river Juutuanjoki (a seven-minute drive away), hiking the Lemmenjoki national park (a twenty-six-minute drive), or taking in the breathtaking views over the sand beach right next to your home, any day is best bookmarked with a detox by the wood-burning sauna stove. Come evening, we recommend sitting out on the terrace, sipping sundowners and watching the starry night sky twinkle overhead. 

Lapped Up

Chancing across this cute-as-a-button log cabin in the depths of winter, you might feel like you’ve stumbled into a fairy-tale. With walls made of jumbo logs and a thick blanket of snow on the roof, it’s got magic written all over it. Inside it’s as cosy as can be, with an open fire, animal pelts and contemporary furniture that contrasts perfectly with the rustic architecture. Three extra beds in the balcony area give options for families and friends sharing an enchanting break, and there’s a sauna for the full Finnish experience. You’re within walking distance (20 minutes) of Levi Centre, so you can ditch the car if you’re happy to stay local. With ski slopes, snowmobile tracks and cross-country ski trails galore, we don’t see why you’d want to go anywhere else.
