At first glance, this might seem like a charming, rustic wood cabin in a stunning lakeside setting – which it is. But head inside for a pleasingly unexpected vibe. We’re talking lavish interiors so polished and trendy you’ll think you stepped onto an Elle Decor shoot, but with added ‘hygge’. For every cool, white leather armchair there is a cosy rug to sink your toes into. For every insta-worthy light fitting, there is a candlestick or a huge open fireplace. The newly fitted kitchen comes fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Take a glass of wine out to the front terrace and soak in the wood-fired outdoor bathtub, with lake Saimaa by your side – utter bliss. When you’re not gallivanting around the lake in your boat (included with the cabin), settle into the sauna. Then fire up the gas barbecue and grill a fish caught that day. This is as remote as they come, so make sure you stock up on supplies before you arrive. Then simply enjoy the peace and serenity.
