This is a place to take it easy. Set two kilometres up a gravel road and overlooking the Chiana Valley, this stone farmhouse is a haven of tranquillity – simply pick your favourite people and settle in for a Tuscan escape. The location is spectacular – pick a shady spot in the garden and feel your spirits lift instantly as you drink in the views. From manicured lawns to the dazzling pool, barbeque, and comfy garden furniture, alfresco living is a given. Inside is pleasant too with its mix of homely comforts, traditional wooden beams, and an open fireplace. The six bedrooms bring in plenty of light while the kitchen is unfussy but has all the essentials. There’s also a splendid dining table inside, or you can linger over a long alfresco lunch at the table under the tree. If you're able to tear yourself away from all this, the historic hilltop town of Cortona is just half an hour away by car. Fans of the great outdoors can hike through the beautiful landscapes, and foodies will be delighted by the abundance of fresh local produce on offer, along with the nearby wineries. And, you can even hop over to... Umbria for a day trip and visit the city of Perugia.
