In Finland, going to the sauna has been elevated to a national pastime and this home provides the perfect opportunity for you to find out why. With your own outdoor hot tub and sauna inside, it’s the ultimate destination for some peace and pampering. Interiors are minimalist with flourishes of fur blankets and a cosy wood-burner, but then you don’t need much adornment when you’ve got windows opening up to those views over Lake Haukjärvi. Steps lead down to a little boat jetty out on the lake, for a spot of fishing or sunbathing, and there’s covered outdoor dining if you want to enjoy your catch of the day amidst the trees. Built in 1971 and still retaining some traditional, original features, this home has been recently renovated to create a cosy, compact cabin ideal for an escape from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
