Perched on the sprawling banks of Lake Saimaa, this cabin has everything you might need for a tranquil getaway from the stresses of daily life. The timber-heavy interior sticks to a peaceful colour palette of neutrals and features a wood-burning fireplace to gather around when the night draws in. The large white kitchen complete with an island is pretty impressive, too. Stepping out the front door, there's a covered porch at the front of the house, which has a table and barbecue for dinner with a lakeside view. Closer to the water, there's a sauna outbuilding with a wood-burner stove, kitchenette and separate lounge. There's an additional sauna — an electric one — in the main home for good measure. With the largest lake in the country starting just metres away, you can rent standup paddleboards and boats with outboard motors from the host, as well as fatbikes to ride around the banks. Alternatively, why not take up the option of renting a mobile hot tub and gazing at the stars instead?
