A visit to Florence is always a good idea. Incredible architecture, great food and wine, and a city rich with history and style – what’s not to love? This central apartment is the perfect place for a city stay. It’s right at the heart of things, but quiet and restful. The style of the apartment is classic Florentine. Think ornate wooden beams and chandeliers, and tiled floors. High ceilings ensure that it feels light and airy, balancing the antique furniture. If you want a taste of what the old families of Firenze used to live like, this is a wonderful choice. Stepping out of the front door, you’re immediately in the lively centre of Florence. Ponte Vecchio is a two-minute walk away, with its jewellery shops and fascinating history. For more history, wander eleven minutes to the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore – otherwise known as the Duomo. The cathedral is beautiful, and a climb up the campanile results in incredible views over the city. Piazzale Michelangelo is a twenty-minute walk away, so pop into one of the many gelaterias on the way – there’s nothing better than winding your way through Florence’s streets with a delicious gelato in hand. The views from Piazzale Michelangelo are breath-taking. You can take in all of Florence – including the iconic Duomo – and out to the Tuscan countryside. Art–lovers won’t want to miss the Uffizi Gallery. It’s just five minutes from the apartment, so head there in the morning ahead of the crowds and treat yourself to lunch in a trattoria on the way back. Everything you need to enjoy a city break in this most marvellous of places is right on your doorstep – what more could you ask for? Another gelato perhaps…
