This impressive period home within Lucca's ancient walls will have you feeling like the Duchess who once called it home. Elegant and ornate, it's a quintessential grand apartment at the top of one of the city's historic buildings. Right in the centre of things, it's an easy walk to all the main attractions and you'll even have a view of the tall, white tower of the Church of San Michele in Foro from the luxurious freestanding bathtub in the master bedroom. Spend your afternoon in Piazza San Michele, just a minute's walk from your door, and move on to explore sights like Piazza Napoleone, Guinigi Tower and the antique market. And in the evening pad around your extraordinary living room like royalty. Decorated in a classical style, with breathtaking frescoes and three sumptuous sofas, it's the heart of the home and our favourite room – although it's a close-run thing between this and the romantic master bedroom. With three en-suite bedrooms, there's plenty of room for a family or a small group, and there's a well-appointed kitchen if you're going to be cooking at home. But here you'll be surrounded by all sorts of cafes and restaurants so eating out will be... an easy option too.

There’s a buzzy nightlife scene centred around cool enotecas and craft beer bars. On Via Fillungo, you’ll find some of Lucca’s finest boutiques, with high-end...
