If you ever found yourself dreaming of an idyllic Swedish countryside escape or perhaps you were seduced by the magical literary universe of Astrid Lindgren as a child and have always wanted to sample life in one of her evocative settings – this charming home, nestled in the heart of the forested landscape is the ideal spot for you and your family to enjoy a truly memorable stay. As soon as you arrive, you are greeted by the home’s red, wooden exterior, and the breathtaking woodlands which surround it. Built in 1909 and renovated in 2017, the place strikes the perfect balance between old-time charm and modern comfort, and the same feel also permeates the inside. We love the cosy, wooden interior, which instantly brings to mind long evenings in front of the fire and lively communal meals at the elegant dining table. But don’t worry about getting stuck in the past -the modern world is just a click of the remote away, and with the choice of Viaplay, Netflix, and HBO accounts at your disposal, those movie nights are sure to make the whole family happy. Rustle up delicious meals in the period kitchen, equipped with all the modern gadgets, while enjoying the tranquil view from the window – there’s also a lovely kitchen table here, where you can relax with a cup of coffee in the morning. Upstairs, you’ll enter the world of sweet dreams – the quaint, period-authentic bedrooms promise a good night’s rest, and there is also another communal area where you can sneak into for some alone time or to catch up on work. Outside your door, you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice when it comes to exciting activities to be enjoyed. Go exploring the many hiking routes, or hire a bike and visit the neighbouring villages. This is the land of ancient forests, rolling hills and hidden lakes – immerse yourself in all of their beauty.
