Sparkling new and in what we think is a really special spot, this cabin has been built in the age-old style, overlooking the lake. Detached but set in a small, exclusive group of similar homes, they sit on the owner's private lakeside land and share a small sandy beach with a pier. So in the summertime, we're talking swimming, boating and fishing – all with the fabulous pine forest as a backdrop. But stay in winter for all sorts of snow sports – the ski slopes are a short drive away too. All the traditional features are here, with a private sauna, a log burner and a loft room that's perfect for the kids, along with a terrace on the ground floor and a balcony upstairs, but there's a crisp, modern edge to everything. Perfect for active holidays, the owner can hire out bikes and kayaks and can even arrange horse riding.
