It's unique standout – a glass-bottom swimming pool – serves as a skylight, casting calming teal hues in the double-height living space to create a well-balanced, zen-like atmosphere throughout this innovative home. There's also the added luxury of your private rooftop terrace, capturing the beauty of this vibrant city with sweeping views of tiled facades and the iconic Parroquia de San Miguel (a short drive from the house). Antique mesquite wood and thick beams made from recycled ‘Trojes’ from the state of Michoacán combine with hand-crafted furnishings and objets d'art from around the globe to create a cocooning effect in the instantly inviting living space. We love the meticulous attention to detail, from the 19th-century River Teak door and raw quartzite chef's kitchen, to the locally-sourced artwork and Colombian artisan hammock, weaved over four months – everything about this home is expertly put together. Whether you're washing up in the stone-cadded bathroom, enjoying a book in the cosy reading nook besides a crackling fire, or settling down for a movie night in the upper-floor TV room on a custom-made modular sofa, it's hard not to be impressed.
