The narrow, leafy streets around you are home to hole-in-the-wall restaurants serving Gözleme and Kunefe while trendy coffee shops spill out onto the pavements. You’ll find all the transport connections you need – tram, ferry and even funicular – at nearby Kabataş, and Taksim is right next door. Inside, it’s a classy space with mosaic tiles and glass walls. The kitchen is small but has all you need for self-catering. The real bonus is the private, plant-filled courtyard, perfect for Turkish tea and baklava outside.

Home truths
This is a basement flat, so there's not a lot of natural light. However, the private courtyard is a bonus in the city.
There are a few steps down to reach the entrance, so this place may not be suitable for those with very limited mobility.
Both bedrooms have sliding glass doors to let the light in and curtains for privacy.
One well-behaved dog is welcome to accompany you during your stay. Let your host know beforehand to avoid a fee.
There is no parking with this apartment, but it's in a very central, walkable area of Istanbul.
