Lucca is a city with a small but dense centre, full of winding alleys and peaceful palazzos. If paying a visit, it makes a great deal of sense to stay as close to this buzzing middle as possible and luckily, this apartment puts you right in the heart of the action. While it's true that it's not one of the most characterful homes in the locale, there's much to like about it. The open living space is generously sized and benefits from lots of natural light, while the bedrooms are more minimalist in style. However, we'd be lying if we didn't say that the real star of the show is the rooftop terrace, on which you'll find an alfresco table treated to views of some of Lucca's towers. When it comes to getting to know the destination, there are a wealth of churches and museums to visit on foot, as well as no shortage of bars and restaurants to frequent afterwards. Further afield, both Pisa and Viareggio are easily reachable, too.
