A private pool, a beach club on the sand, and a gated community with a shared gym – this house in Porters delivers a particular kind of Barbados holiday. Spend your days between the sun deck and the nearby beach club, where waterfront dining and premium service are part of the deal. Back at the villa, a covered alfresco terrace is made for long lunches, and the option to arrange a private chef for a fee means cooking can be entirely optional.

Porters Promise

A plunge pool and terrace sit at the heart of this home on Barbados's west coast – an easy place to spend an afternoon between a long lunch alfresco and a dip to cool off. One of the bedrooms opens directly onto a covered terrace, making mornings feel unhurried. When the Caribbean heat calls for more than a pool, Reeds Bay Beach is a three-minute walk away. Holetown's restaurants and bars are ten minutes out, and Speightstown's quieter pace is seven minutes in the other direction – useful whichever mood takes you.

Bajan Rose

Serenity awaits at this sumptuous home we found tucked away on Barbados’s famed Platinum Coast, one of the most glamourous holiday destinations in the Caribbean. Whether you’re here to rub shoulders with the rich and famous or kick back and relax in the glorious Barbadian sunshine, this is the place to do it, situated just a stone’s throw from the white sands of Weston Beach.

Spend all day relaxing by the Caribbean Sea or stay put and take advantage of the communal facilities your home from home has to offer. From an outdoor tennis court to an exclusive beach bar, there’s plenty to keep you occupied here – though we wouldn’t blame you if all you wanted to do was sip a fruity, rum cocktail by the private pool.

As much as we love the outside space, the interior’s nothing to scoff at either. Boasting high ceilings and cool, marble floors, this place has got ‘luxury’ written all over it, coming equipped with a whole host of amenities that’ll make your stay as comfortable as possible. Sit back and relax in whichever sitting area takes your fancy – there are plenty to choose from here – or get to work in the kitchen, rustling up a Caribbean-inspired feast for all your favourite people. We can almost taste the jerk seasoning now.

The Pride of Barbados

Three minutes from the front door, Reeds Bay Beach sets the tone for what this Barbados home does best – effortless coastal living. Back at the house, fold the doors open to connect the living area with the terrace, where a plunge pool is ready for the hottest part of the day. Ceiling fans and air conditioning keep things comfortable indoors, while the private garden offers a quieter spot to eat alfresco as the evening cools. Holetown's restaurants and nightlife are a ten-minute drive, and Speightstown is seven minutes away for a slower, more local pace.

Reeds Bay Plunge

Tucked within a gated community on Barbados's west coast, this home is designed around outdoor living – a shaded dining terrace, a barbecue for evening meals, and a plunge pool to retreat to when the afternoon heat builds. One bedroom opens directly onto the terrace, so you wake up to greenery each morning. Reeds Bay Beach is a three-minute walk away, keeping the pull of the sea close. Holetown's restaurants and nightlife are ten minutes from the door, and the quieter pace of Speightstown is just seven minutes away.

Barbados Drift

Tucked into a boutique ten-villa resort on Barbados's West Coast, this villa blends considered interiors with serious outdoor appeal. The lush patio – shaded by mature tropical trees and furnished with daybeds – is made for long alfresco lunches, while the covered terrace extends the living space into the open air. A shared free-form pool with waterfalls and a central gazebo sits at the heart of the resort. Gibbs Beach, with its calm surf and chair rentals, is just a short walk away.

Blooming Pride

Located on an exclusive estate and looking like Barbados’ answer to the White House, it's easy to see why this home caught our eye. The entire ground floor revolves around the garden, with its private swimming pool and landscaped hub of pagodas, a dining pavilion, and shaded terraces where whole days can disappear. Inside, the top floor is taken up entirely by the main suite, but whether you're upstairs or down, we know everyone will feel presidential thanks to the daily private chef, laundress and housekeeper. A golf cart is included for the ride to the beach club and resort amenities, where a private cabana, tennis courts, an on-site gym, and watersports await.

Palace Amongst the Palms

A plunge pool on the terrace, glass doors that slide open to the breeze, and Reeds Bay Beach a three-minute walk away – this home is built around easy coastal living. The indoor-outdoor flow between the living space and pool terrace makes it hard to stay inside for long, whether you're after a morning swim or an alfresco dinner as the sun drops. Holetown's restaurants and nightlife are ten minutes away, and Speightstown's relaxed pace is just seven, so you have two very different evenings on offer depending on your mood.

Sunbeam in Barbados

Nestled on a luxury resort, this charming villa isn’t just for those who love a spot of golf. Here, you can swim, play tennis, stay on top of your fitness in the on-site gym, or simply lie by the communal pool, soaking up the Caribbean sun. And if you’re looking for a holiday tipple to tickle your tastebuds, indulge in a spot of rum.

The inside of this home is truly tranquil, with the white of the walls and serene drapes punctuated with pops of turquoise. Flooded with natural light, you’ll feel contentment wash over you from the moment you set your bags down. We love the arched windows sitting above the doors out to your private balcony, adding a little character to the home. Stroll underneath them to your outdoor space and settle on the sofa with your holiday read. Overlooking the shared pool, you have stunning views across the resort and out to the sea beyond. This is a quiet spot – and view – that you’ll never tire of.

When it’s time to explore, outside of the resort you’re only a seven-minute drive from Holetown. Pack your bag and you can enjoy a day on the beach or indulge in a spot of retail therapy if that’s more up your street. As the day draws to a close, your villa is ready and waiting to welcome you home.

A Putt Above the Rest

Step off the deck and you're on the sand – this beachfront villa in Weston, Saint James, puts the Caribbean directly at your feet. A saltwater pool and hot tub sit beneath the palms for when you want the ocean at arm's length rather than underfoot, while a large covered terrace with a private bar is made for long, unhurried lunches. Indoors, the eco-conscious design by Celia Sawyer is easy and considered, and the rate includes a resident cook – chef Cheryl comes highly praised – and a housekeeper, so the days unfold at your own pace.

Sea Island Cotton

Tucked into a gated community on Barbados's west coast, this townhouse is built around a private plunge pool and shaded terrace – the kind of setup that makes a long Caribbean lunch stretch well into the afternoon. The living room opens directly onto the outdoor space, so inside and outside blur pleasantly. Reeds Bay Beach is a three-minute walk, and Speightstown's laid-back cafes and waterfront are seven minutes away. All three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and king-size beds, so nobody draws the short straw.
