A glistening lake resides just moments from the home – an idyllic spot to settle with a picnic after a day of walking or cycling. Bring some drinks and snacks and enjoy an afternoon in the tranquility of your surroundings. 

The castle is encompassed by gorgeous hillsides, but it also has enough amenities to keep you entertained. A tennis court is made for those of you who like to keep active, whilst the hot tub caters to a more laid-back energy.

Come the evenings, gather on the cosy cushioned seats and share food, drink and anecdotes about your Belgian adventure. We recommend relaxing in the garden for sunset, watching the sky transform into a smoky red.

When the weather isn't so pleasant, you can always snuggle up on the sofas in front of the fireplace. Regal and versatile, the palatial home is a dream abode all-year-round.

Tower Reflections 

Stepping inside this charming home feels a little like stepping into the pages of a children’s book. The stone walls, wooden beams and forest views give it the feeling of a fairy tale cottage – and every chair, bed, and detail is just right. Goldilocks would love it. 

The cottage is in the Belgian Ardennes, a three-minute drive from Lierneux. It’s tucked away, a quiet home where you can relax and unwind, and make happy memories. Children are likely to fall in love with the play area outside, while grown-ups will appreciate the deep bathtub and the covered terrace – the perfect spot for alfresco dinners. 

It’s a great choice for nature lovers, as you can head out on countryside walks straight from the front door. When you’re not exploring the forest and trails on foot, you might drive out to discover more of this scenic area. La Roche-en-Ardenne is a particularly pretty village and is well worth the twenty-seven-minute drive. 

Rainy days can be merrily whiled away in front of the wood-burning stove. Curl up in the cosy living room with a good book, and just feel your stresses float away. 


Forest & Stone

Nestled in the rolling green countryside of western Belgium, this lovely home is perfect for a rural escape. With plenty of space both inside and out, it's the ideal spot to press pause on everyday life and relax in style. 

The wooden exterior gives way to a fantastic open-plan living space, with a high vaulted ceiling and a soothing, natural colour scheme. On chilly evenings, you can light the stove and curl up on the sofa with a glass of wine and a good book. Or, if the weather is warm, head out onto the terrace and admire the views across the verdant fields. When you get hungry, you can fire up the barbeque and enjoy a grilled feast at the alfresco dining table. 

Walkers can lace up their boots and head to Les Deux Rochers for an invigorating hike through the picture-perfect landscapes – the trail is just six minutes away by car. The town of Stavelot, with its historic abbey, is also only a six-minute drive away if you fancy a day trip. And, for guests visiting during the winter months, the Val de Wanne ski area is thirteen minutes away by car. 

Peace, Perfect Peace

This twelfth-century chateau in the Belgian countryside is quite simply enormous. Not only does it sit within ten hectares of pretty private parkland, but it can also accommodate a whopping thirty-five guests across the building and its two wings.

With all of this size to play around with, the host has ensured that every guest will find something that will appeal to them. The parquet flooring, original panelling, parquet flooring and open fireplaces mean that the living rooms are wonderful spots to do nothing more but relax, while the garden, courtyards and dining terrace also offer somewhere equally pleasant to sit and enjoy the sunshine.

In addition to this, you'll find a recently built Finnish sauna in the home, plus a games room complete with a bar and billiards tables. If that gets you in the sporting mood, there's an all-weather tennis court on the grounds, as well as a private lake, which you can use for fishing, canoeing or even swimming.

The closest town is Ciney, which takes about five minutes to reach in the car and has a handful of shops and restaurants. A little further afield, there's everything from caves, Roman ruins and outdoor activities to keep you occupied.

Extended Famliy

This characterful holiday home is the perfect spot for a family or group getaway. Each room is tastefully decorated, with pops of colour and modern twists. We love the cosy sitting room, where you can gather round the fire on cooler evenings and settle down in front of a movie. Floor to ceiling glass windows flood the living area with light, while antique trinkets and pops of artwork give the space its character. On warm summer days there’s no better way to start the day than with a dip in the pool, before relaxing in the sunshine on the raised wooden deck.

The house is a six minute drive from the centre of Durbuy, a breathtaking historic town with stone houses and a castle in the middle. There are plenty of activities in the surrounding area, from kayaking on the river Ourthe, 3km from the house, to the maze in Barvaux-sur-Ourthe (4km). There are also beautiful walking and cycling routes nearby. When you arrive home, head to the sauna and let all your troubles float away.

Emerald Plains

Set in a wooded holiday park in the middle of the Belgian countryside, this home offers a comfortable and tranquil space for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature, without being completely isolated. Here, you can still find Durbay – picturesque and often referred to as the smallest city in Europe – only minutes away. 

When you’re not out sunbathing poolside or making a splash in the communal pool, you’ll likely find yourself laying back on the sofa with your nose in a good book. Get up every now and again to saunter over to the compact, but sleek, kitchen where you can pop another pod into the coffee machine and brew up fresh cuppa. Nurse it as you sit in the light of the sliding door – which should ideally be open to let all of that fresh, countryside air in. 

Sit around the kitchen island for a light lunch, but when you’re really not in the mood to cook, go out exploring the narrow streets of Durbay until you find a restaurant or cafe that takes your fancy. Visit the Bomal Market on Sundays – only around ten minutes away – and try the cycling trails by walking five minutes to Funtrail Durbay.

Deer in the Lantern Lights

A six-minute drive from the medieval town of Durbuy, where cobbled streets and traditional stone houses have stood the test of time, this home offers slightly more modern luxuries. You'll be welcomed by lush greenery and forests surrounding the red brickwork of this fantastic villa (as long as you don’t get lost on your visit to The Labyrinth of Barvaux-sur-Ourthe, nine minutes away).

Rustic interiors invite you into the lounge, where chunky beams and exposed stonework create a charming, old-world vibe. In contrast to the modern corner sofa, the wood-burning fireplace looks wonderfully vintage, as well as being a perfect spot to cosy up with a glass of pinot noir. And from here, you can see through huge glass doors to your private garden.

On sunny afternoons, grill some fresh, local fare on the barbecue and serve up on the patio  – you might have to call the kids a few times for dinner if they’re busy in the playground. For an after-dinner treat for all, there’s a hidden surprise in the outhouse. Beneath a striking wooden, apex ceiling, your heated pool awaits. Splash around with a cocktail by the poolside, then head into the sauna after the little ones have retired to the bunk beds.

Forest Lagoon

This beautiful home, tucked away in a tranquil and picturesque corner of Marche-en-Famenne invites you to enjoy a restful stay, surrounded by nature and with all the comfort and luxury to make your time especially relaxing. Whether you’re travelling with a family or a group of friends, this place is a perfect refuge. 

Inside you’ll find a warm and welcoming space, with a huge sofa, fireplace and plenty of room to kick back and enjoy an evening of movies and wine. We love the wooden details and rustic elegance which make it feel instantly homey. The modern, well-equipped kitchen will inspire you to create delicious feasts which can be shared at the indoor dining table or outside, where a barbecue also awaits, making those alfresco gatherings even more fun. 

And speaking of the outside, you’ll find plenty to keep the entire party occupied, with sun loungers, a huge garden and a play area for the kinds. In the evening, why not enjoy a few cool drinks while you soak in hot tub. Inside, there’s also a large sauna room, perfect for a relaxing steam session before heading upstairs to the land of sweet dreams. 

With three comfy bedrooms and sleek bathrooms, everyone is guaranteed a night of restful sleep – wake up reinvigorated and ready for another day of blissful country living. Outside, you can explore the nature trails by bike or simply on foot, and the beautiful city of La Roche-en-Ardenne is also just a short drive away. 

Green Refuge 

A five-minute drive from medieval Durbuy – which bills itself as the world’s smallest city – this chalet-style house offers woodland living in the lush surroundings of Ardennes. While you might pop into town to pick up Belgian beers, pâté, and the region’s famous smoked ham, there’s plenty going on at home to make you want to stay put.

In some ways, this house feels more like a treehouse than anything. Of course there’s plenty of native green foliage outside around the grounds, as well as the hill leading up to the front, but it’s the interiors that really give off this vibe. In this rural cabin, it’s all about wood, wood, and more wood.

From the floors to the ceiling, the walls to the tables, this main feature is in perfect harmony with the natural world. The apex ceiling makes the rustic living space feel large and lofty, with more brightness coming in from the adjoining terrace. This shaded spot is perfect for sipping a chilled Saison or savouring freshly barbecued produce. It’s also ideal for peering down to your private boules court below and heckling your friends mid-game, or stargazing into clear night skies.

Wood Grains

An expansive villa set in the beautiful Belgian countryside, this home offers a superb getaway for a large group of friends or family to gather together and enjoy life's simple pleasures. Elsewhere, the imposing Château de Petite Somme is under a ten-minute walk away. This 13th-century castle is home to the only purely vegetarian restaurant in the region and an artisanal bakery – perfect for that freshly baked morning loaf. For more medieval charm, the nearby town of Durbuy is the gateway to kayaking, canoeing and rafting adventures down the River Ourthe.
