There's nothing shy or retiring about this Swiss chalet, where bigger is better. Set against a backdrop of towering peaks and dramatic vistas, this home has taken some of that theatre to heart. The living room is huge, with a gigantic fuchsia sofa that could fit your party – and then some – in front of a feature brick fireplace. The kitchen is well-equipped with traditional goodies, including a fondue set and raclette grill, providing fodder for epic feasts. The slopes are only 100m away – the ski lift is a kilometre away – meaning competent skiers can strap up and just speed off on a day's adventure. Big baths await to soak tired muscles in bedrooms and bathrooms, our favourite being the stretched tub in the master suite – we're pretty sure there's room for two. If you're visiting in summer, a spacious garden and terrace furniture is perfect for catching the sunset, and if you need a break from all that cheese, you can fire up the barbecue.

Surprise Me

This apartment is nestled in gorgeous Wengen, high in the Swiss Alps. Whether you're visiting in the height of summer or the depths of winter, it's a brilliant place to begin your adventures. 

Step inside and you'll find a modern space with wooden beams and large windows that frame the stunning mountain views outside. You can stretch out on the sofa and gaze out across the valley, or head outside onto the balcony for a better look. And, when you are in need of replenishment, you can head to the kitchen to whip up some hearty dishes – there's even a fondue set for the ultimate post-skiing meal. 

The lifts up to the Jungfrau ski region are only 600m away, so you can be one of the first people on the slopes each day. During the warmer months, you can explore the rugged landscapes on foot or on your bike. And, with a swimming pool, tennis courts, river rafting, and even a paragliding centre nearby, there's an activity to suit everyone. 

Slalom Race

Nestled at the foot of the Swiss Alps, you'll find the Italian-speaking town of Locarno. This smart apartment is right in the centre of this melting-pot, and makes the perfect place to begin your adventures in this uniquely beautiful region.

The interior is a charming and contemporary space that invites you to flop down and chill out. When you get hungry, there's a well-equipped kitchen where you can whip up your favourite dishes – and, you simply must indulge in a fondue night at least once during your stay. Plus, you'll even have your very own balcony, which makes the perfect place to sip a sundowner as you gaze out towards the mountain peaks in the distance.

The shore of Lago Maggiore is just a few minutes away on foot, where you can arrange a boat tour or take a leisurely stroll on dry land. Enjoy a revitalising dip in the thermal baths at Lido Locarno, then pay a visit to the striking Piazza Grande. And, if you're feeling adventurous, you can go mountain biking, hiking, or even paragliding in the mountains just north of the town. 

Alpine Gateway

Tucked away in the heart of Parpan, this renovated apartment is a perfect base for exploring Switzerland’s great outdoors all year around. Ski the slopes of Lenzerheide when winter falls, hike mountain trails in summer, or simply enjoy the alpine air with a coffee from the comfort of your own balcony. It’s a functional yet welcoming spot with everything you need to feel at home after a day surrounded by nature. The mountain views also get a big thumbs up from us.

Mountain View Haven

Nestled in the picturesque Port-Valais,Monthey District, this enchanting 4-room apartment offers a memorable escape for those seeking tranquility and relaxation. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, the property is a true haven of peace and harmony. Immerse yourself in the warm and inviting atmosphere as you bask in the sunlight filtering through the open terrace doors. Prepare delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, complete with modern appliances and ample counter space. Unwind in the comfortable living/dining area, tastefully furnished with plush seating and a dining nook. Upstairs, you'll find spacious bedrooms adorned with cozy linens and boasting balcony access, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. While this chalet in Rairettes was built in 2013, its wooden walls, arched ceilings and slate roof make it feel quintessentially old-school Swiss. There's a smart twist, however, with floor-to-ceiling windows at the front of the home that give unparalleled views over the snow-capped mountains. Whether you're cooking in the pine kitchen, cuddled round the feature fireplace or squashed onto the crushed velvet sofa, eyes will invariably gaze out over the magnificent vistas. In the summer, it's out to the home's balcony and grassy garden for barbecues, alfresco feasts, and even a spot of tanning on the loungers if it's warm enough. Mountain trails – both hiking and skiing – can be found not far from the plot for days exploring ridges and new pastures. When you're done, head back to the plush pad for evening soaks in the deep bathtub or a session in the private sauna.

Clouds Reach

Wake up to mountain views in this cosy three-bedroom apartment, nestled in the historic village of Scuol in the Lower Engadine Valley. It’s the perfect base for exploring the Swiss Alps, whatever the season – try hiking, biking, or river rafting in summer, or head to the slopes of Motta Nulns in winter. The apartment blends modern chalet style with rustic charm, with exposed beams, a fireplace, and a twin room in the basement ideal for children. With plenty to do in the village, a free ski bus to the cable car, and handy storage for bicycles and skis, everything you need for an Alpine adventure is right at your doorstep.

Scuol Serenity

With its jagged peaks covered in pristine snow and dotted with evergreen trees, St Moritz is regarded as one of the jewels in the crown of the Swiss Alps. And just imagine waking up to a view of the mountainside you will shortly be skiing down. This charming apartment may not be huge, but it's homely, warm, and has everything you need to stay in comfort. There’s even a conservatory balcony so you can sit and admire the view with a hot drink without feeling the chill. There’s a ski storage room on-site so you can have quick access to your equipment, and with the cable car nearby, you can be on the slopes in no time. During the summer months, it's equally as lovely as a destination for hiking, cycling, fishing and golfing. Here you'll be just a few minutes' walk from the shore of the lake and within striking distance the buzzing town.

Hide & Peak

This contemporary home was designed by a creative architect and features a large terrace stretching around half the apartment. Your host can provide free baby equipment and pets are welcome, making it an ideal choice for families. While there is the potential for some noise from other residents of the building, you'll have space to sit outside with an alfresco meal or drink and look out toward the glittering Lake Lugano. We think you'll want a car here for getting the most out of your stay, whether it's exploring the shops and fantastic restaurants or parking up and taking a scenic walk by the water.

The Emerald Fountain 

At the foot of the magnificent Matterhorn mountain, high above the clouds, the fresh air and general life in Zermatt is unlike anywhere else. Getting around here means hopping on milk float-style taxis, electric buses, cable cars, and your own skis. With such picturesque scenery, you’ll find yourself stopping for regular glances at the snowy peaks, taking in their changing moods throughout the day. Whether you’re zooming down pristine slopes, or hiking Sound-of-Music-style meadows, returning to this apartment is a treat. Inside, it’s got real Alpine charm, with oak walls, an open-hearth fireplace, rust-red cow print sofas, and plenty of comfy cushions, rugs, and throws. But there’s a modern feel to everything, from sleek kitchen appliances to raw wood panelling in the living room and bedroom. There’s a sauna, steam room and spa in the building, so you can relax your aching muscles after a day on the slopes.

The Hills Are Alive

Walking into this bright, open home is dreamy. Two large patio doors welcome in the beautiful sunlight, reflecting on the gallery white walls. Step outside the doors to a mesmerising view of Lake Maggiore and the Swiss Alps, a sight that doesn't get old. Enjoy breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and drinks on the large balcony with the best seat in the house. You'll especially love having your morning coffee here, with the morning sunlight dancing on the calm waters. Locarno proudly holds the title for the warmest place in Switzerland, so we imagine you'll be spending time lounging by the shared pool, dipping in for a swim when the afternoon heat blazes on. When it's time to explore, you're under a twenty-minute walk or five-minute drive from the heart of Locarno. Known for its fondue and local wines, food lovers will adore walking its cobbled streets and stopping into small, traditional food and drink spots. And thanks to its proximity to Italy, Lake Maggiore is actually shared between Italy and Switzerland, you can be sure to enjoy plenty of delicious pastas, pizzas, and gelato. Meander home after a wholesome evening in the city and enjoy a night cap under the pergola in the garden. 

Peach Pit

If an alpine adventure is what you're after, this may fit the bill. Located in the centre of Lenzerheide, this bright and airy apartment comes with mountain views from the private south-facing balcony. It's in the heart of a resort town that thrives through every season. In spring and summer, you'll find hiking, lake swimming, tennis and biking aplenty. In autumn and winter, skiing is what it's all about – there are sixty ski runs with a total length of 225 kilometres in the vicinity. To top it off, shops, bars, and restaurants are all within walking distance, which makes this a great base for an active escape year-round.
