The bedrooms are on the smaller side too, so with recommend packing light. Location-wise, the villa is just a five-minute walk from the nearest sandy beach and is ideal for exploring the beautiful resort of Protaras.

Marshmallows is a compact yet swanky home located in the Protaras resort. While we do love the idea of idling away by the pool and spending sunsets firing up the barbecue grill, it helps to remind yourself that you're a stone's throw from many vetted spots in Cyprus. Sunbathe at the Yianna Marie Beach or have a go at water sports at the gorgeous Fig Tree beach – both at walking distance. Enjoy the gorgeous landscapes as you hike or cycle around the Troodos Mountains. Summers are perfect for exploring vineyards in medieval villages. Likewise, if you love winter-sports, you will regret not coming back here.

While the interiors are simple and the bathroom could do with a refresh, the place is functional and comfortable. Plus, two bedrooms have balcony access, offering glimpses of the Mediterranean Sea – a view best enjoyed with a glass of something chilled in hand.

Beaches are also within easy reach, including popular Vrissiana, where you can try out watersports – or watch from the safety of the sand if you prefer to keep your feet dry. The bright and airy ground floor has an open-plan living and dining area, and the space is flooded with light thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors. Outside, you can relax on the private terrace or in the heated pool.

This villa is a practical base in Protaras, one of Cyprus' most exciting resort towns. The area is perfect for exploring, whether you want to enjoy the sandy beaches, snorkel in the coastal caves, or enjoy a night out on the town. Sunrise Beach is a ten-minute walk from this home, putting you in a prime spot for exploring Protaras. Restaurants, bars, and shops are also nearby – although we still suggest a car if you plan to adventure further afield. A private swimming pool awaits back at the villa, as do a roof terrace and an alfresco dining area. Sleek and modern, the design won't suit guests looking for a lot of character. That said, we're big fans of the breezy living space, which effortlessly embraces indoor-outdoor living.

Conveniently located just five minutes from beaches, shops, and restaurants, this villa makes for a handy base for a family. It’s in Protaras so everything is within easy reach – you don’t even need a car unless you’re planning on seeing more of Cyprus. The villa is simple but attractive, and while there might not be loads of space for eight to gather inside, you can open the sliding glass doors and spread out outside. The barbecue area and alfresco table mean you can dine in, too – and sit out with a glass of wine once the kids have gone to bed.

If you’re looking for something with character, this home might not be for you as the villa aims for sleek simplicity, but you can’t deny the appeal of the private pool or rooftop terrace – perfect for sunset drinks. Dine al fresco when you've used the well-equipped kitchen to cook your meals or take a short stroll to sample the local cuisine at the surrounding restaurants.

Yes, this villa is only 400 metres from the beach and not much further to the centre of the resort town of Protaras, but we'd like this address even if it was in the middle of nowhere. Only recently built, the interior feels fresh and contemporary, but our greatest praise is reserved for the outdoor space. Not only is there a particularly inviting swimming pool, but there's also a balcony with glorious views of the Med and vast amounts of terrace space on which to sunbathe, dine alfresco to even play pool out in the open air.

Feelgood Factory

Just minutes away from a choice of beaches, this home puts Protaras' bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. A modern family retreat, you'll find kid-friendly rooms here with twin beds. Plus, an open-concept living area flows out to the alfresco dining space and private pool deck. While this spot is ideal for barbecues, some guests may feel a bit overlooked by their next-door neighbours. Luckily, the roof terrace offers another place to watch the sunset with Mediterranean Sea views.

A Deep Dive

Situated in the popular resort area of Protaras – this villa is just a five-minute walk to Sunrise Beach. It’s near bars, restaurants, and shops, too, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained and there’s no real need for a car if you don’t want to hire one. Back at this home, there’s a private pool to cool off from the sizzling Cypriot sun or head up to the rooftop terrace and take in the Mediterranean sea views – there’s a barbeque and outdoor kitchen here for meze lunches (including the roof terrace, this home has three levels, so it may not suit those with limited mobility).
