Sunday Stroll has been designed with care. It’s a little small, but it’s practical and comes with lots of delightful details like golden kitchen equipment and a blue velvet sofa. Due to the sleeping arrangements, and the curtain separating the living room and bedroom, this home is best suited for a couple or solo-traveller looking to explore Berlin. The immediate area isn’t the most lively, but you’re right next to the Deutsche Oper, and you’re also well-connected to the rest of the city.

As it’s a former shop, The Florian boasts some interesting features like the old shopfront window in the living room/bedroom. It’s located on a beautiful street in Charlottenburg, but sadly this street can also get a little noisy at times. If you feel like venturing out and about, you're really close to Charlottenburg Palace and its beautiful gardens. There's a lot of museums around there too, which are all worth a visit.

Florentina is effortlessly minimalist in every way possible. It has a Scandinavian feel, and a high-end kitchen that’s great for cooking up a storm. With a calming neutral colour palette, curated details and the stunning wooden floor, this home encourages you to slow down. Although it’s not located in the liveliest part of Berlin, it’s great for couples looking to explore Charlottenburg and all of its charm.

This home in upmarket Wilmersdorf offers everything you need for a comfortable Berlin sojourn. Inside, thought has gone into giving the apartment a grassland theme, and the French doors opening onto the balcony let in plenty of sunlight. With a fully equipped kitchen, it's easy to rustle up a quick bite. That said, it would be a shame not to visit some of the many local eateries. When you want to head farther afield, Uhlandstraße Station is a short walk away.

We fell in love with Lava as soon as we stepped through the front door. Inviting and luminous, the space oozes personality and soul. The colour scheme reminds us of nature (ocean/sky blue mix with earthy tones), while simultaneously being very twenty-first-century chic. Andrea is an interior designer, so it's no wonder why everything is arranged and curated with meticulous attention to detail. The immediate area isn’t Berlin’s liveliest, but you’re well-connected to the city centre, as well as the more dynamic areas of Charlottenburg.

Set in a Hans Christian Müller building, Bauhouse is packed full of history. The interior is a love letter to Bauhaus (the building was part of the 1957 Interbau exhibition), with posters, original light switches, and books about the influential architectural style. The bed is in the same room as the living space, so it’s a little small. But if you enjoy Bauhaus, staying in a home of this calibre and with this kind of past is an opportunity that shouldn’t be missed.

Step into this apartment and you’ll feel instantly at home thanks to the cosy decor and styling. It’s worth noting the bedroom is separated from the kitchen by a curtain, but this is a great option for couples or solo travellers. There is also a sofa bed in the living room for one guest and you’ll find the little balcony provides a sweet spot for a coffee or evening drinks. From here, you can walk to the baroque gardens in Charlottenburg Park and you’ll find a great selection of restaurants and shops within easy reach.

Joie de Vivre oozes old-school elegance. It’s an old Altbau with high ceilings, herringbone floors, and striking crown moulding. It has everything you need for a good time – a projector for movie nights, bar accessories for making delicious cocktails, and a huge dining room with space for entertaining. Kurfürstendamm is only a stone’s throw away, so no need to hop onto the U-Bahn if you want to go shopping or have dinner in a glamorous restaurant.

Those who are particular about their design will fall head over heels for this penthouse apartment. For a start, the exterior is rather unique, as it's a new wooden development adapted respectfully on top of an industrial building dating back to 1905. The interior is a shining beacon of clean minimalism, in which every item has been selected carefully for maximum impact. The artwork on the walls, for example, is curated by different galleries and artists, and, as such, changes quite regularly. The kitchen, too, has been hidden away in a cabinet, so there's nothing but sleek white walls when it's not in use, and the linens are made from pure organic cotton. Sustainability is at the core of every piece of furniture and fixture within this home, with each piece carefully selected to have minimal environmental impact. Out through the glass doors — which are nothing but generous when it comes to natural light — you'll find the roof terrace, on which there's plenty of seating and a range of plants chosen for their fragrances, from bedstraw and thyme to wall pepper. Located in the quieter north of the Mitte district, there are lots of green spaces and historical curiosities to be found nearby, including the Silent Green Kulturquartier three minutes' walk away and Humbolthain state park only a quarter of an hour away.

Making Waves is one of a kind. Situated just behind Berlin’s cluster of galleries, it’s also within walking distance to the architectural masterpiece that is Gleisdreieck Park. On top of being fully equipped (the kitchen is a particular favourite of ours), we also love how stylish it is. Much of the furniture is custom made for the space, and it has a tranquil atmosphere that we can’t get over. As a bonus, it has Sonos speakers in every single room – this includes the bathroom for all the people who enjoy a good sing along session in the shower.

The Big Easy is managed by the architecture company that designed the entire building, as well as the living units. This studio apartment is decked out with custom-made furniture, exposed concrete walls, and industrial flooring, to create an artistic loft-like space. We love the floor-to-ceiling windows and the private balcony is an added bonus. Overall, the minimalist approach might not appeal to all, but if you’re looking for a balance between home comforts and hotel-like luxuries, this is a great spot for you.

If you're looking for a well-connected spot in the heart of Berlin, this comfortable apartment provides optimal space for a convenient stay. Contemporary in style, with sleek wooden furnishings, velvet accents and a colour palette of rich mahogany browns, the home balances hotel-like features with all the necessary home comforts perfectly. For example, the private minibar and the building's reception area provide all the convenience of a hotel, while the large wooden dining table and collection of books offer personalised touches and a more lived-in feel. Gather the whole group around the open-plan kitchen and dining area for an aperitif, after a day's action-packed adventures in Berlin. Over in the main living space, the massive dining table is the perfect spot to come together for lazy breakfasts as you hatch plans for the day ahead. And the daily housekeeping will keep things spick and span while you're out and about – which we suspect you'll be doing rather a lot of here. There's a myriad of great bistros, street food, and bakeries in the streets below, all within walking distance. Or hop on one of the city bikes, handily parked right outside the apartment building, for a morning's jaunt over the river to Tiergarten Park for picnicking and frisbee tossing - it's the local's favourite place to be.

There are so many interesting aspects to this home, it’s hard to choose which to focus on. The building itself is clad with burnt wood and dark blue metal panels – there to reflect the site’s former space observatory. All the surfaces within the building are raw and honest, such as the exposed concrete, which shows the scars of construction. Sadly, this studio apartment is small, and the concrete columns within make it even more cramped. Nonetheless, this home is ideally located close to some of Berlin’s best attractions, such as the Jewish Museum and the Martin-Gropius-Bau.

Over the years, Berlin has built a reputation for being one of the coolest, chicest cities in Europe, and that has brought about an influx of unique buildings to stay in. This home is no different! Filled with artistic flair and character, you're guaranteed to feel inspired with creativity when wandering around this open-plan apartment.

Considering its placement in Berlin's Mitte district, which is steeped in history and culture, you'll feel right at home in the neighbourhood. Locations don't come much more central to Berlin than the lively Mitte area, so you'll be glad to know there are endless experiences and sights at your doorstep. A twelve-minute wander will take you to Hackescher Höfe – a must-see maze of Art Nouveau courtyards made up of designer shops, restaurants, cafes and incredible street art – while a twenty-four-minute stroll will bring you to Museum Island, which comprises five museums for the history buffs to enjoy.

Offering pretty views of the courtyard below, this is your very own secluded sanctuary from Mitte's hustle and bustle. After a restful slumber, spend mornings perched here, coffee cup in hand, enjoying the peace and quiet, before slipping out for breakfast. For baked goods and coffee, we recommend Zeit für Brot, five minutes away on foot and conveniently located next to Weinberg Park, a beautiful spot for picnics.

This home is pretty minimalist, modern, super bright, and comes with colourful touches. Due to the bunk bed and the quiet location, it’s especially well-suited for a family visiting Berlin. And you’ll be happy to hear that it’s located within trendy Prenzlauer Berg, a kid-friendly Berlin neighbourhood with plenty of cool things to do.

Nestled in the central downtown area of the historic city of Berlin, this home is perfect for guests looking to go out and explore this amazing city. The apartment itself boasts a wonderfully artsy atmosphere, featuring the creative works of local Berlin artists that really are a treat to behold, with many being pieces you can purchase and bring back. Step through the front door to be welcomed by fresh, open spaces, comfortable and welcoming furniture, and a sense of the genuine love that has gone into this home.

As the apartment is close to Berlin Nordbahnhof, guests are extremely well-connected to the rest of the city, and is perfect for those preferring to use public transport, which we have to admit is the ideal way to travel during a city escape. After breakfast and the day's first crisp cup of coffee, head out to experience Berlin culture and life at its finest, with visits to Museum Island, the iconic Berlin Wall, and Brandenburg Gate, while a day spent in the city centre shopping, sightseeing, and sampling delicious local delicacies can have you out from dusk 'til dawn. We highly recommend trying the local schnitzel with a hearty pint of Hofbrau Oktoberfest.

Minimalist vibes ooze from this chic Berlin apartment. The exposed concrete walls, high ceilings, custom-made furniture, and industrial-sized windows create a modern loft-like vibe. Unfortunately, the balcony is shared with the neighbouring apartment and the kitchenette offers minimal support for cooking, so it's not the kind of place where you cook up a storm. The lack of artwork on the walls might make it feel a little too minimalist to some, but if you're interested in architecture, we're sure you'll appreciate all the innovative and original features as much as we do.

From a first glimpse, as you walk through the door, it is clear that the consistent use of wood as a key material was a well-thought-out design choice that brings us back to nature despite the home's city location. 

Contemporary mid-century styles find influence from Scandinavia, while warm neutral tones create a soothing space to relax after the day's adventures exploring the city. Floods of light gently enter the main living space through the floor-to-ceiling glass fronts – providing the conditions for clear thinking and new visions. 

As you wake up here each morning, take the time to admire the carefully selected modern artwork with a cup of coffee in hand – the pieces are by local artists and therefore change regularly. Or why not start your days out on the balcony roof terrace amidst the crisp morning air?

With a seamless transition into each space, we particularly love the hidden kitchen, which can be closed away entirely by shutting the cupboard doors – or presented as somewhat of an art installation when left open. 

From the living area to the bedroom and the en-suite bathroom, the natural light flows and injects life into the space. Underfloor heating ensures your toes will be kept warm during the winter months. And the building's inner courtyard (brimming with plants such as thyme, wall pepper, meadow sage, fragrant bedstraw, and raspberry bushes) will welcome you to enjoy tranquil moments outside when the weather is kind. 

Relax, picnic, meditate, read, converse – from this home, the art of relaxation is encouraged so that you can enjoy the local area's fast-paced lifestyle, impressive museums and vibrant nightlife with ease.

Designed in a modern Japandi style, this centrally located apartment is ideal for those looking for a calm stay within easy reach of the city’s most notable sights. While one guest will need to sleep on the sofa bed at full capacity, a Sonos sound system, a coffee and matcha station and a courtyard-facing bedroom are nice touches here that caught our eye. And the dedicated desk space makes this quiet home perfect for those needing to work remotely. You won’t find a TV here, but you’ll hardly notice given the countless things to see and do nearby, including Mauerpark, the Wasserturm Prenzlauer Berg and plenty of public transport options to take you to all corners of the city.

This minimalist apartment sure makes a statement. It's on the top floor of a building dating back to 1905, and the wooden beams, skylights, and glass-walled bedrooms give the whole place an industrial ambience. There's a dappled dining nook where you can enjoy breakfast – better yet, visit the coffee shop downstairs for a morning brew. We love the large skylights, too. Location-wise, Wedding is a lively neighbourhood with a hodge podge of restaurants, shops, and bars to discover. Keen to explore further afield? Hop on the subway, just a five-minute walk away, and set off on an adventure.

It’s easy to see that Photographic Memory is a cherished home. Brimming with plants, personal trinkets, and artworks made by a friend of the host’s grandmother, you can sense the calmness and love as soon as you step through the front door. While it’s not in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, it's only five minutes away from Mauerpark. And there are also plenty of eateries, cosy coffee shops and design boutiques within walking distance.

Set in a building that used to be a space observatory, Easy Like A Sunday Morning is one for the architecture aficionados. It’s minimalist in the coolest way possible, with high ceilings, the raw and honest surfaces, as well as the concrete columns. And it’s managed by the same architecture firm that designed the building and living units, so expect lots of attention to detail. Sadly, the kitchen isn’t the biggest, but we like to think of that as an opportunity to explore the nearby area, which is full of both restaurants and museums.

Easy Like A Sunday Morning

Dry Humour is one of a kind. Located inside what used to be a brewery, the building is steeped in history. We adore the high ceilings and arched windows, both of which remind us of a different time. It also comes with a kitchen that’s very clearly made for cooking – the butcher’s block countertop is as cool as it is practical. The immediate area is on the more peaceful side, but you’re only a ten-minute walk from some of Berlin’s most charming hangouts – including Viktoriapark (one of our favourite parks in the city).

At Balances, you’ll find industrial-inspired exposed brick and pipework, which the host has lovingly combined with minimalist furnishings that give this home a New York-like appeal. It is situated on the lower ground floor, but with plenty of natural light and its location on a quiet street, we’re willing to look past this minor detail. More importantly, Balances sits smack dab between some of Berlin’s most famous, and most important, sites. You can easily walk around this part of town visiting modern art galleries, historic museums or the Berlin Wall Memorial.

Furnished with a homely mix of mismatched pieces, funky artwork and pops of colour, this apartment is a cool-looking space that’s a pleasure to hang out in. The living area is generous enough to entertain you and a couple of friends, while the large couch with footstool calls for relaxing under a blanket after a busy day exploring your buzzy Mitte neighbourhood. Pull up a blue velvet chair to the dining table and tuck into a traditional German breakfast or munch on a brötchen in the fresh air on your private balcony. Your host, Kitty, is an illustrator and this beautiful, luminescent apartment is her studio. We love how she’s transformed it into an elegant living space with more character than you can shake a paintbrush at. From her original art above the bed to her easels and paints sitting alongside an extraordinary collection of books and ornaments, this space is an art lover’s haven and a truly unique way in which to experience the city. The light here, too, is dazzling, pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors that lead out onto a private balcony. Sit here with your morning coffee and one of the many books, and relish the tranquillity of your inner courtyard setting. With a luxurious green-tiled tub (and the bathroom's underfloor heating) to retreat to after a day of exploring Berlin by foot, this home truly offers a canvas for a blissfully relaxing time. Outside of your home, you’ve got the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood on your doorstep packed with independent eateries, design boutiques, bike rentals, supermarkets, public parks and cosy coffee shops. Visit Mauerpark’s Sunday flea market (a twenty-five-minute walk), check out the KulturBrauerei for hip shops and music clubs (a fifteen-minute walk) or indulge in some retail therapy along trendy Kastanienallee and Alte Schönhauser Allee (both a twenty-minute stroll). Further afield, Museum Island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a thirty-minute walk, while Alexanderplatz is ten minutes away on the subway.

Small yet full of charisma, The Mime is great for travellers looking for a cosy base close to Rosenthaler Platz. From the funky wallpaper to vegan soaps, everything’s curated with great attention to detail. We also love the eclectic mix of romantic vintage furniture, Oriental-style trinkets, and fun, flamboyant colour accents.

A swanky mix of Hollywood Regency and rustic styles, it’s the kind of place that makes you think of German fairytale castles. Schöneberg is full of things to do, especially when it comes to local restaurants and shops.

This stylish apartment has a distinct 1960s feel to it. And the best of all, you ask? It’s all happening inside a charming Altbau, with high ceilings and big windows galore. Natural light pours into the spacious communal areas and bedrooms, combing with a mint green colour scheme and an abundance of luscious houseplants to create a calm and breathable apartment to unwind. For those keeping one eye on work during their stay, you'll notice a light-filled desk space to set up a home office. Full of funky patterns, retro tiled flooring and chic decor, you'll find the sociable open-plan space a great spot to hang out with friends and family after a day spent sightseeing around Berlin. Better still, step out onto the private balcony with a glass of something bubbly and watch how the locals go about their daily lives below. The location is as central as it gets, with Alexanderplatz just around the corner (about five minutes on foot) – and if you feel like exploring Museum Island, it’s less than a short fifteen-minute stroll from this crowd-pleasing pad.

Swanky in every way, Schwerin reminds us of German fairytale castles. While Schöneberg isn’t exactly located atop a hill with panoramic views of forests and mountains (like a real castle), it does offer a lot in terms of local Berlin restaurants and shops. We love the high ceilings, stucco details and luxurious materials, perfect for channelling your inner regal self.

With its New York-like appeal (think exposed brickwork), paired with a minimalist aesthetic and black-and-white photography, it’s needless to say that On Balance is special. It’s a little small (you have to share one bathroom), but we’re willing to look past that minor detail. More importantly, On Balance is in a great location. Tucked away in between some of Berlin’s most famous, and most important, sites, it’s great for travellers looking to explore the city’s historic side. You’ll find lots of art galleries, museums, and the Berlin Wall Memorial within walking distance.

The epitome of industrial chic, Easy Breezy comes with raw, exposed concrete walls and huge windows for panoramic city views, any time of the day. For architecture connoisseurs, this is the dream – not only is it surrounded by many important housing developments of the 1980s, but much of the furniture is also custom made by the architect’s office that owns the building. It’s set against the backdrop of lively Kreuzberg, so you’re also in good hands when it comes to great places to eat and drink.
