Located in a former jelly factory turned art gallery turned apartment, this loft is very special indeed. Your host, Arthur, is an architect and he has poured his heart and soul into this place. With high ceilings, Danish furniture, a balcony facing the Spree and walls filled with Arthur’s own photography, it’s a must if you’re looking for a stylish base from which to explore Berlin. Begin mornings on the L-shaped couch with a freshly brewed coffee before serving up a traditional German breakfast in the dining area. When you’re ready to explore, you’ll find the Wall Museum a fifteen-minute walk from your doorstep. It’ll take you eighteen minutes on the bus to reach Treptower Park – a local favourite for picnics in the summertime. To dive into the city’s history, catch the U-Bahn to Checkpoint Charlie and Brandenburger Tor. And when evening falls, hang about in your trendy Kreuzberg locale – it’s filled with lively restaurants, bars and hidden nightlife spots.

He also collects photography and you’ll be able to see some curated examples throughout the home. If that’s not enough for you, it’s also located in Kreuzberg, a neighbourhood known for its lively atmosphere and abundance of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

You can tell that your host is an architect the minute you walk through this home’s door. Bright and minimalist, it feels like a creative studio with its pared-back furnishings and white walls. And of course, the apartment’s most striking feature – undoubtedly a source of inspiration, creative or otherwise – is its huge picture windows giving way to views towards Alexanderplatz and the Berlin TV Tower. You’ll love cosying up on the window-side bench with your morning cup of coffee while feasting on the vistas, or kicking back on the window-facing sofa with a glass of wine as the sun sets over the city. There’s a cute viewing platform with a skylight too for those who want an even better bird’s eye view while the bedroom’s slanted window lets you wake up and enjoy the city’s rooftops first thing. Found right by the Spree, The Greenery is in an excellent location. You’re within walking distance to many of Berlin’s cultural offerings (Museum Island is only twenty minutes away), along with lots of famous night clubs (if that’s your thing). The living room feels incredibly lively – we loved the abundance of tropical green plants and host Paul’s attention to detail. And the kitchen is wonderful too – we can only imagine the kind of delicious meals that you’ll want to cook while staying in this home.

Industrial meets rustic, Candid Camera is one of a kind. Located just fifteen minutes from Volkspark Friedrichshain, you’re in a beautiful area packed with bars, restaurants and shops. It’s not difficult to see that Ludger has put a lot of love and effort into designing this space, especially when it comes to all the eye-catching decorations. With a well-equipped kitchen and a cosy terrace, it’s a great place to unwind after a long day of sightseeing.

Always dreamt of living on a boat? Well, now’s your chance. Found on the Spree, Rock The Boat offers an experience out of the ordinary (it can even be rented with a crew for an additional touch of luxury). The interiors are masterfully designed by Davide Rizzo, and the attention to detail shows – we loved the cosy fireplace, airy bedrooms, and the collection of antiques decorating every corner. It’s simple really, we can’t say no to a place like this – especially when it involves such stunning and calming views of the water.

We're loving the bohemian-chic approach to this urban pad, placed in Berlin's traffic-calmed Friedrichshain neighbourhood – where indie boutiques and casual cafes create an alternative, artsy vibe. 

There are three stylish bedrooms with dedicated office spaces in each one, making the home ideal for business trips and friendly get-togethers with one eye on work. Stylish decorative details are everywhere to be seen, with intentional yet minimalist decor creating a relaxed atmosphere. Gather the group together for some German apple pancakes in the sleek communal area as you hatch out the day's plan. 

With so much to see and do, make sure you factor in less work and a lot more play to your stay here. We recommend starting with a half-hour walk through the surrounding area to the historic East Side Gallery, before hopping on the metro to sprawling Kreuzberg – beloved by students and locals alike for its quirky thrift shops, cafe culture and landscaped Viktoriapark – twenty-eight minutes from your apartment. 

Work It Out

Located inside one of the Hermann Henselmann Towers on Strausberger Platz, The Little Drummer has a rich history. As it overlooks Karl-Marx-All – the former GDR boulevard designed for parades and lined with mirrored wedding-cake style architecture on both sides – this home feels exceptionally grand. It’s lacking in entertainment options (there’s no TV), but with Alexanderplatz ten minutes away, we’re sure you’ll find other things to do.

Electric Feel is a great choice if you’re looking to see a different side of Berlin. Located in Friedrichshain, the neighbourhood is full of creative hubs, art galleries, and alternative coffee shops. The home itself is super modern – the kitchen is new (and well-equipped), and there’s even a little balcony to enjoy some down-time. The host, Minh, is a joy, and she’s especially excited to welcome you to her tranquil oasis in an edgy, artsy corner of the city.

Float Away is about as unique as they come, and while it might look like a boat, it’s actually a floating home with no motor. Moored in a beautiful part of Berlin's Citymarina, it’s perfect for guests looking to experience an alternative side of the city – or to escape the hustle and bustle of places like Mitte and Kreuzberg. In asheltered spot overlooking the calm waters of the Spree, we think this one is pretty special.

Needless to say, it’s on the smaller side, but we only think that adds to its charm. Perfect for a couple, it's got everything you could need onboard for a quiet weekend away. If you're lucky with the weather you can even eat outside on the small deck. Or take the short walk to the harbourside restaurant.

In true Kreuzberg fashion, the door to Orange Blossom is full of colourful graffiti. Inside, however, it’s a calm space filled with green plants, beautiful antiques and an extensive book collection. We fell in love with the Italian granite kitchen counter as soon as we saw it, and we adore how inviting and communal the kitchen is. Located in Wrangelkiez, you’re right across the street from Görlitzer Park, and you’re also within walking distance to some of Berlin’s hippest spots.

Immerse yourself in the creative spirit of Berlin from this apartment nestled in Friedrichshain. From here, you can stroll to the Spree River and you’ll find a range of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. Wherever the day takes you, this apartment makes it easy to switch off and unwind. There are two seating areas here – one is an indoor balcony, the other an outdoor terrace – and the open-plan living room has a sound system to set the tone for a laid-back stay. Remote workers will also appreciate the dedicated desks, including a workspace in the main bedroom.

Stylish and functional, this apartment in Berlin’s trendy Mitte neighbourhood is the perfect match for any family or group of friends. There’s ample storage space in the bedrooms – handy if you’re planning an extended break) – and the kitchen is fully equipped for knocking up your favourite dinners. Outside, you’ll find a private terrace – while we think it could do with a spruce up, it’s a fine spot to enjoy a morning coffee. Keen to explore? Heinrich-Heine-Straße is your closest U-Bahn station.

A Bit of Berlin

Enjoy the weekend food market and flea market at Boxhagener Platz, which is just around the corner from Polar Bear. Although this home is not the most luxurious, it covers all the basics (washing machine and dryer, fully equipped kitchen, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video). This is a good base in a great location, so if you’re planning on spending your days out and about exploring Berlin, Polar Bear might just be the right fit for you.

Bang in the middle of all things cool, East Side Story is one of those rare homes that also offers a tranquil atmosphere. Markthalle Neun (our favourite food market in Berlin) is right across the street – and many of Kreuzberg’s hip hang-outs are nearby, too. A Columbian/Austrian DJ and music producer, Pablo has designed everything with great attention to detail. Incredibly inspired by the sunshine, his favourite part of the home is the sun-drenched corner with cactuses – and we understand why.

East Side Story

For a one-bedroom apartment, White Heat feels exceptionally expansive and inviting. Art lovers, creatives, and urban explorers will be well matched to this home. The carefully curated art and the variety of unique furniture make it an attractive, intriguing space. The kitchen and bathroom are both incredibly well-designed, proving that this is a place made to be lived in. The surrounding neighbourhood is full of independent cafes and bars, and you can find everything you need within walking distance.

Authentic in its look, bohemian in its feel, Sail On channels something very Berlin. Set against the backdrop of an 1880s Altbau, this home is filled with history. Some of the furniture comes with that old-school classroom feel, and the checkerboard floor is also stunning. Kreuzberg isn’t for everyone, but it encapsulates the Berliner spirit perfectly – it’s especially suitable for travellers keen to be bang in the middle of all things cool.

Surrounded by cafes, restaurants and bars, this Friedrichshain apartment is a charming base for two couples or a small family. The boho style adds another layer of comfort to the bright space, and with a desk per bedroom, it even works for business trips. Though the views from the balcony aren't the most inspiring, the outdoor table is still a nice touch – especially for alfresco meals. As for the location, you can use nearby public transport links to visit the Berlin War Memorial. Or why not take a historical boat trip on the Spree?

This cosy apartment enjoys expansive views of Berlin's artsy and historic Friedrichshain district. We think it's ideal for remote workers or couples looking for a city getaway, and pets are welcome to join you for an additional fee. The private balcony makes this home stand out, equipped with a swinging chair and outdoor seating for enjoying a light lunch or a drink along with the views. Parking here will be tricky thanks to the location, but fear not – the nearest train station is a few minutes' walk away for getting into the city centre, and you'll find parks, shops, and eateries nearby.

Midtown Modern

Tastefully decorated, this cosy apartment will make you feel at home right away. From the warm tones of the living room to the little balcony, this is the ideal spot for a laidback city stay. You’ll also find one of the bedrooms comes with a dedicated desk – making this a great option for remote workers. It’s worth noting there is only one bathroom here, but there is still plenty of space to stretch out and spend quality time together. Outside, you can stroll to Oberbaumbrücke Bridge and you’ll find a great selection of restaurants and shops within easy reach. 


The Art of Berlin

This apartment is the perfect base for a cultural or business excursion in Berlin's Friedrichshain neighbourhood. Just outside your door, you’ll have easy access to the city’s coffee shops, trendy restaurants, and art galleries, as well as the public transport links – if you feel like cycling, there’s bike parking here, too. The stylish interior provides a comfortable retreat after a day of exploring. There are desks in each bedroom, ideal for remote workers, while the balcony serves as a lovely spot for an evening drink – keep in mind it’s on the smaller side.

Berlin Bliss

If a typical Berlin flat in the heart of trendy Friedrichshain is what you’re after, then Garnet Touch is perfect for you. With a fully equipped kitchen and a small bedroom, we would recommend this home for a single traveller or young couple. It faces the backyard and can therefore be a little dark, but with the nearest train station only 500 metres away and Boxhagener Platz and its weekend food and flea market, we doubt you’ll be spending much time indoors anyway. 

Garnet Touch

Situated in Friedrichshain, this modern apartment is perfectly located for Spree-side strolls and gallery visits. There’s not one balcony here, but two – start the day with breakfast on one and post-sightseeing drinks on the second. While we hope you’ll spend most of your time exploring, there’s a handy desk for remote workers. This spot is in a young and alternative neighbourhood, though if you want to see the inner city’s famous landmarks, you can hop on the U-Bahn from Berlin Ostkreuz – it’s a ten-minute walk away.

Once you’ve braved the stairs to reach Airwaves (all five floors), you’re justly rewarded. The flat is small, but it’s been put together wonderfully, with every inch of space used, and used well. The furniture skews vintage, and combined with the pared-back aesthetic, the whole flat feels like a haven, away from the hectic streets below. And those streets can get busy. Friedrichshain has one of the best art and music scenes in Europe, and Airwaves is as good a place as any from which to explore.

Alexander’s home is simply amazing. He’s renovated everything himself, using the structure of the old stables to make something completely unique. A photographer and artist, every single part of this home tells a story – from the many souvenirs to the raw, exposed brickwork. Located right by Boxhagener Platz in Friedrichshain, there’s also plenty to do in the immediate area. A treat for the soul and eyes, The Photographer’s Stable is a home that shouldn't be missed.

Sun Salutations is flooded with positivity. It’s a calming and welcoming one-bedroom home in edgy Friedrichshain with lots of natural light. We love the fantastically high ceilings and how every little detail is brimming with a thoughtful and easy-going feel. Especially suited to travellers inspired by Buddhist philosophies, yoga and spirituality, this home genuinely encourages you to take a step back, relax and slow down.

Style and character go hand in hand at this exquisite apartment set across the canal in happening Kreuzberg – home to a vibey art and night scene. Much like Berlin itself, this period bolthole has its quirks. Expect two bedrooms to be adjoined with sliding stained-glass doors – great for a small family or friends sharing, but it might not suit all guests. It’s also worth noting there’s only one bathroom, so be prepared for some waiting around in the morning. Though with a sunny balcony for coffees and free-flowing living spaces to spill out into for lazy brunches, what’s the big rush anyway?

Located in a residential building overlooking the Spree River in Friedrichshain, this apartment is ideal for solo weekends, romantic getaways and even business trips. It's boho, modern and well-kept, with plenty of space for two. And if you're working from home, you can do so from the laptop-friendly desk in the bedroom. Though the balcony's view of the water is slightly obscured by other apartment buildings, we still appreciate the extra breathing room. We think it's a great spot for early morning coffee and contemplation. Plus, there are cafes and bars within walking distance.

Your host, Kitty, is an illustrator and this beautiful, luminescent apartment is her studio. We love how she’s transformed it into an elegant living space with more character than you can shake a paintbrush at. From her original art above the bed to her easels and paints sitting alongside an extraordinary collection of books and ornaments, this space is an art lover’s haven and a truly unique way in which to experience the city. The light here, too, is dazzling, pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows and French doors that lead out onto a private balcony. Sit here with your morning coffee and one of the many books, and relish the tranquillity of your inner courtyard setting. With a luxurious green-tiled tub (and the bathroom's underfloor heating) to retreat to after a day of exploring Berlin by foot, this home truly offers a canvas for a blissfully relaxing time. Outside of your home, you’ve got the Prenzlauer Berg neighbourhood on your doorstep packed with independent eateries, design boutiques, bike rentals, supermarkets, public parks and cosy coffee shops. Visit Mauerpark’s Sunday flea market (a twenty-five-minute walk), check out the KulturBrauerei for hip shops and music clubs (a fifteen-minute walk) or indulge in some retail therapy along trendy Kastanienallee and Alte Schönhauser Allee (both a twenty-minute stroll). Further afield, Museum Island – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is a thirty-minute walk, while Alexanderplatz is ten minutes away on the subway.

Making Waves is one of a kind. Situated just behind Berlin’s cluster of galleries, it’s also within walking distance to the architectural masterpiece that is Gleisdreieck Park. On top of being fully equipped (the kitchen is a particular favourite of ours), we also love how stylish it is. Much of the furniture is custom made for the space, and it has a tranquil atmosphere that we can’t get over. As a bonus, it has Sonos speakers in every single room – this includes the bathroom for all the people who enjoy a good sing along session in the shower.
