Brimming with bright, natural light, it packs marble floors in the bathrooms, a regal staircase, and a mix of modern and classic design furniture. Charlottenlund isn’t quite central Copenhagen (it’s more suburban), but it’s well-connected to the city centre by way of the S-train.

The word “wow” came up a few times when we visited this place… A former coal crane located in Nordhavnen (the old industrial harbour area), it’s an incredibly special place that offers an out-of-this-world experience. Set up for pampered living in exceptional surroundings, it consists of three levels of unique luxury. One with your living quarters – the bed is heavenly. Another with a huge meeting room and bathroom – the bathtubs have some of the best views we’ve ever come across. And two terraces – one for enjoying magnificent sunsets, the other tailor-made for sunrises.

Sleek and stylish, this apartment has everything you might need for a comfortable stay in Copenhagen. There's plenty of room for your group to spread out and relax – as long as two guests don't mind sleeping on a sofa bed in the living area. You'll also have access to a small balcony, which doesn't offer the most inspiring views, although we still think it's a pleasant space to unwind. Trendy Nørrebro is a short walk away, with plenty of shopping, parks and dining options nearby. The home is a short Metro ride from the city centre, but if you’re in search of a chic and well-equipped home, this is a great choice.

Housed in a listed building on Gråbrødretorv square, this design-forward apartment pairs period charm with a cinematic sense of style. Expect high ceilings, Italian-inspired touches, and a statement-striped dining room perfect for long, laughter-filled evenings. At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living space – those planning long-term stays might be more comfortable with a guest count of four. The apartment is perfectly located for sightseeing, with Amalienborg Palace and Nyhavn just five minutes away. Those hoping for a spot of retail therapy will be delighted to be so close to Strøget.

You're right in the thick of things at this smart downtown apartment, perched along Copenhagen's shopping mecca of Strøget. The metro is just 100 metres from your door, though we doubt you'll need it with buzzy Nyhavn Harbour and countless happening restaurants and cosy cafes within walking distance. It's worth noting if four of you share, the last two guests will have to make do with the sofa bed in the living space. You'll also need to prepare for some street noise from time to time. But we'll take that for a home with such an unbeatable location.

Strøget Delight

Bright, modern and unbeatably central, this Copenhagen pad offers comfort and style in the popular Danish capital. Fall in love with the light-filled living space, tastefully decorated with a typically Scandinavian sense of minimalism and effortless cool. We're especially smitten with the sleek, matte black kitchen. When the sun comes out, you have your own private balcony to kick back on, coffee and traditional custard pastry in hand. What more could you want?

When it comes to location, it doesn't get better than this apartment. Push open your front door and find yourself right in the city centre, with shops, restaurants and bars in every direction. Strøget, an expansive pedestrian street lined with trendy boutiques, is just a five-minute walk away. From here, saunter across the canal and over to the Christiansborg Palace. This historic landmark houses the current Danish government – as well as a stellar collection of paintings and sculptures.

Scandi State of Mind

You couldn’t ask for a more central spot for this Indre By apartment, set just steps from the iconic Magasin du Nord department store and a short stroll from Tivoli Gardens. Need to be someplace fast? The Metro is only minutes away, making exploring every corner of Copenhagen easy. Inside, the Scandi interiors of this light-filled home speak for themselves. That said, there are a few compromises to be made here. The main bedroom sleeps four, with both a double bed and a sofa bed, while a living room sofa bed sleeps another two. While this won’t suit everyone, it could work out great for a small family or close-knit group.

Danish Elegance

If you’re searching for classic Scandinavian design in a fantastic location, this apartment delivers. Located on the third floor of a historic building without a lift, there is plenty of space for a group of nine to relax after a day of exploring. It’s worth noting there is only one bathroom here, but it's ideal for remote workers with dedicated desk space and families will appreciate the children’s amenities available for an additional fee. From here, it’s just a short stroll to the bars and restaurants of Nyhavn, while shops and historic sights are also within walking distance. 


Cityscape Sanctuary

Located right in the heart of Copenhagen, this eco-friendly apartment hits all the right notes when it comes to ease and simplicity. Outside, it’s a short stroll to Kongens Have and Kongens Nytorv. There are great public transport links and paid parking is available at a location nearby. Minimalists will appreciate the simple details of this apartment. It’s also family-friendly with space across two floors to stretch out and unwind. At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area but this works nicely for larger groups. 


The Daily Essentials 

Tucked back from the hustle and bustle of the ever-popular harbourside hotspot of Nyhavn, this spectacular apartment ranks among our favourites in the city. 

A large open-plan living area is the focal point of any stay here, with a sleek handleless kitchen, a typically stylish mid-century dining table and chairs, plus a comfortable seating area. It's lined with windows along one side, letting in plenty of natural light during the day. When night falls, elegant pendant lights illuminate the space.

Stride out into the picturesque pocket of the city. This 17th-century canal, lined with colourful houses and stunning sailboats, continuously tops lists of Copenhagen's must-see sights, and it's easy to see why. But, while it may attract the tourists, there's no doubt that the locals love it just as much, and you'd be hard-pushed to find a better spot in the city to enjoy a cold beer on a warm summer's afternoon.

To the east, a bridge connects you to the cafes and canals of Christianshavn and the hippie haven of Christiania, where quirky self-built homes line the lake. While to the west lie Copenhagen's pedestrianised shopping streets and the low-key creative cool of Kødbyen, also known as the Meatpacking District, a ten-minute bike ride away.

Located in a quiet corner of Indre By but just a five-minute walk from the 17th century Nyhavn waterfront, this bright and welcoming apartment puts you right in the heart of Copenhagen’s action. We love the homey comforts on offer here, from the sheepskin throws to the inviting Scandi and vintage furnishings and the large windows proferring fourth-floor views over the city’s rooftops. Our favourite spot is the private balcony with its views of Christiansborg’s spire. Sit here with your morning coffee while soaking up the fresh air or gather at the elegant dining table with the French doors open to enjoy the warmth and cosiness of your home. With plenty of curios decking the shelves, original artwork, a record player to serenade your evenings and a beautiful antique bureau on which to catch up on work, you’re all set for a relaxing time here, whether for business or pleasure. Factor in the luxurious Hästens bed for a dreamy night’s sleep and you may never leave your comfortable home. When you do, however, you’ll be wowed by the countless sights within easy reach on foot, including the Kongens Nytorv (seven minutes), Strøget’s upscale shops and indie boutiques (twelve minutes) and the Tivoli Gardens (fifteen minutes).

Locations really don’t get much better than this. It's rare to find a property this close by to the picture-perfect Nyhavn district, with its brightly coloured gabled townhouses. Find a sunny spot outside at a quayside café or hop on a boat for one of the many canal tours that start here. As the evening draws in, take a pre-dinner stroll along the waterfront, then duck into one of the many restaurants and bars that line the canal.  You could call in on the Queen too, she lives just around the corner. And when it’s finally time to retreat inside, you’ll find a contemporary place that invites you to be social. The communal area is the heart of the home, offering plenty of space for your tribe to hang out, cook, and eat. The industrial-style windows flood natural light through the apartment by day, while the plush velvet curtains allow privacy at night when it’s time for some shut-eye.

Set in one of the most sought-after parts of Copenhagen, this central spot in Indre By (downtown) encompasses the very best of what the city has to offer. With its great boutiques, eateries, coffee shops and bars to make the most of, you'll be in gourmet heaven here. Take a stroll along the harbour of Nyhavn for a more laid-back setting, or soak up some culture at the famed Little Mermaid statue, which perches on a rock near Slotsholmen, an island home to museums and the Danish Parliament – just ten minutes away on foot. 

Whether your days spent here are action-packed or laid-back and relaxed, enjoy returning to this beautifully serene apartment at the end of the day. The Danish have perfected the art of minimalism and when it comes to showcasing how it’s done, this beautiful home makes a perfect example. 

With its soft tones and traditional features, there’s a sense of effortless ease here. The open plan living and kitchen are simple and functional yet also stylish - making the perfect spot for breakfast or dining with friends. 

Set in the heart of Copenhagen, this home sits in front of the historic department store Magasin Du Nord. This is a great place to take notes on quintessential Danish style. Wind your way through the streets and explore some of the historic sights of this area - such as the seventeenth century Rosenborg Castle Gardens, only six-minutes on foot. 

There’s also a metro stop a hundred meters from your door, making it easy to connect with the rest of the city. After a day of exploring you’ll love coming home to relax on the private roof terrace. 

Light & Grace

With all of Copenhagen's best bits within easy strolling distance, the location of this central Indre By apartment is hard to beat. While we can't fault the light-filled, Scandi interiors of the living area and bedrooms, the kitchen and bathroom set-up might be too compact for some. It's also worth noting that at full occupancy, the last two guests will be sharing a sofa bed in the lounge. But we're willing to let that slide for a home with such a spot-on location.

The Danish Way

Situated just one street from The Lakes, this penthouse apartment is perfectly positioned for waterfront strolls, coffees and drinks. This modern Scandi-style apartment is ideal for groups wanting to maximise their time both out and in, with a central location and a contemporary sociable space. If you’re visiting as a group of eight, two guests will sleep on the living area sofa bed, so you might need to call it early some nights. But then again, with plenty of bars and concert venues nearby, we’re sure you'll spend your evenings out experiencing the Copenhagen culture. 

Lake Haven

Place yourself footsteps from Copenhagen’s hotspots, including the iconic Magasin du Nord department store and Tivoli Gardens, at this oh-so-central home. Better still, with the Metro just a three-minute stroll from your door, arriving into the city is a breeze from here. A great option for a group of close-knit friends or family sharing, the spacious bedroom sleeps four guests, with two on a sofa bed. While in the lounge, there’s another sofa bed offering flexibility if needed. Well geared to a working stay, there’s a handy desk space to catch up on emails – if you must.

Scandinavian Symphony

If you’re looking to experience the vibrant heart of Copenhagen, this apartment delivers a great solution. Located on Strøget, you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local restaurants, cafes and shops. It also provides easy access to iconic sights and there are great public transport links. It’s worth noting, you may hear some street noise during your stay but this is to be expected in this central location. Plus, you’ll find all the essentials you could need to settle in and unwind. There are also flexible sleeping arrangements with two sofa beds – making this a sweet option for families.

Parallelogram is sophisticated in that Scandi chic way that we just love. It elegantly blends wooden furniture, green plants and photos taken by the host himself to form a modern minimalist home with plenty of charm. You are a five-minute walk from Nyhavn and all of its cultural attractions. If you feel like experiencing the city in a different way, you can also sit down on the sunny balcony with a cup of coffee and watch Copenhageners go about their day.

Set in a handsome building from 1791, you’ll be minutes from so many of Copenhagen’s best attractions. Both Amalienborg Castle and the Little Mermaid statue are a seven-minute walk away, while the picture-perfect harbour of Nyhavn is just fourteen minutes from home. Catch a glimpse of the stunning Opera house before heading to the neighbourhood’s Copenhagen Bicycles, where you can rent bikes and get around like locals. When you’re back at home you’ll enjoy a luminous and inviting living space with high ceilings and large windows. The furniture is stylish and sleek – Scandi of course – while you’ll have all the essentials you need for a comfortable stay. Enjoy a morning coffee on the sofa looking out at the busy street, or gather around the dining table for breakfast. When it’s time for bed, the bedrooms are soothing with their grey colour palettes, soft linens and plush pillows that ensure a good night of rest.

A whirlwind of green hues, this snug home brings an instant smile to our faces. It's warm and comfortable, with a large dining table perfect for sharing family meals and a cosy sitting area where you can kick back and relax with a glass of wine and Netflix. A small collection of books and board games only add to the homey feel, as do the large windows which flood the lounge with natural light. One of the bedrooms is rather tiny and the bathroom isn't the biggest we've seen, but the brilliant location more than makes up for it. We love this area's historic charm and quiet streets, yet buzzing restaurants, cafes and shops are all a short stroll away. You're also within walking distance to many of Copenhagen's most beloved sights – Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn, The Little Mermaid, Frederik's Church, you name it, chances are you can get to it easily. Best of all? The Danish queen lives just down the road, so if it's good enough for royalty, it's good enough for us.

Sage Advice

The Magic Flute is rich in history. Located just off lively Nyhavn, the building dates all the way back to 1658 (there’s a plaque at the entrance detailing all the owners throughout the years). With crooked, creaky floors, it’s oozing old charm – and paired with Matilde’s artwork, instruments, and personality, it becomes one of a kind. She’s an opera singer and works just down the road in the Royal Opera House, which only makes this home even more special.

The Magic Flute

Just a five-minute walk from this apartment will take you to the City Hall Square and the central station. It's the same walking distance to Tivoli Gardens, a magical theme park with a century-old wooden roller coaster, gardens and restaurants. As with the rides at Tivoli, this apartment has some ups and downs – let's start with the good points. There's a shared garden perfect for beers in the summer, and the apartment itself is spacious. To enter the second bedroom, though, you will need to go through the third bedroom. This room doesn't have any windows but borrows light via French doors into the adjacent room, so privacy is also an issue – it’s probably fine for the kids, we would say.

If you love Scandinavian design, you’ll love the interior here. Dreamt up by FABRK Studio, a team of local architects, its dark wood fixtures and Calacatta marble accents make this place feel more chic city hideout than typical hotel alternative. It’s not style over substance here though – boasting all the amenities you’d expect from a high-end holiday rental, this apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay in the Capital. 

Wake up to refreshing views of Amalie Garden then head out to explore the city. You don’t need us to tell you that there’s plenty to do here but if you’re looking for recommendations, why not wander over to the terraces at Sankt Annæ for a light breakfast before making your way to Jægersborggade for a spot of boutique shopping? Whether you choose to spend all day sightseeing or sampling delicious food at one of Copenhagen’s many high-end restaurants, you’ll love coming home to your sleek apartment and enjoying a well-deserved glass of wine on the terrace before turning in for the night. We don't know about you but that sounds pretty perfect to us.

This stunning apartment is a real one-of-a-kind in the Danish capital. Not only is it in a wonderful location (the Little Mermaid and Amalienborg Palace are only ten minutes away), but it merges historic features with contemporary Danish design in the most elegant way possible. It's a rarity to find homes this large in Copenhagen – especially complete with modern bathrooms – so we were thrilled when this one came across our desk. The bedrooms are among the most stylish we're seen, with forest green feature walls, eye-catching artwork and headboards held by leather straps. While the Crittal-style glass partition walls of the second and third bedrooms are certainly a conversation starter. On long summer days, a couple of French doors open out onto Juliette balconies so you can let the fresh air and that city buzz inside. As a bonus, this three-bedroom home is located along the Crown Prince's preferred cycling route, so you might catch a glimpse of him as he whizzes past on his bike. So if you're set on exploring Copenhagen on foot, by bike, or on the water, this is the ideal choice for you.

Kongens Have (The King's Garden) is a short stroll away, as is the city’s largest square Kongens Nytorv, home to the Royal Theatre. Housed in a building constructed in 1958, this apartment is ideal for friends or family looking for an excellent location. It sleeps up to six guests with two people sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room at full capacity. We should also mention that your hosts also provide free access to the local gym if you want to keep up your fitness regime while away.

Do Copenhagen right and stay at this swoon-worthy Scandi apartment in the city centre. With light-filled rooms, an unbeatable location and the rare luxury of a private terrace, it doesn't get better than this modern home. 

The open-plan living area is the ideal hangout spot for your holiday downtown. Finished with bright furnishings and a touch of boho charm, the spacious room is lit up with not one, not two, but six windows. After preparing meals in the snazzy kitchen, you have a choice of places to dine – at the breakfast bar, the eight-person dining table, or outside in the sun (that's our pick, weather permitting). 

When it's time to explore the city, you won't have to travel far to take in Copenhagen's best sites. The cobbled Kongens Nytorv square is barely a five-minute walk away, and from here Nyhavn's colourful waterfront is another short hop. Enjoy lunch with a waterfront view, then meander through the characterful streets towards Christianshavn, a unique network of small islands. This is the place to be if you're a fan of street art and intimate music venues.

View From the Afternoon

Size and style come in equal measure at this Copenhagen apartment. It's perched along the famous shopping mile, and most of the must-see sights are just a stroll away. A great option for a multi-generational family stay, each bedroom is as light-filled as the next, and the living spaces are palatial by inner-city standards. It's worth noting there's only one bathroom here, and four guests will be sharing the last bedroom – fine for family sharing, but it won't suit everyone. Expect street noise from time to time, too – but that's all part and parcel of central Copenhagen living.

Hygge Tales

What a great location this studio has in Dronningegården. You’ll be situated a short stroll away from Kongens Have (The King’s Garden), while the city’s largest square, Kongens Nytor, is nearby too. This studio apartment is housed in a 1950s building, and the minimalist interiors are a nod to that era. We should also mention there’s free access to the local gym if you want to keep up your fitness regime while in Copenhagen. This home is just the ticket for a couple or solo traveller looking for an excellent address.
