Now, we think the best way to explore the city is on foot or by bike, though there’s free street parking nearby too. From here, you can swim off Bådelaug Havnestad, enjoy drinks in Christianshavn or soak up some culture in Indre By. The interiors are modern with plenty of light thanks to the glass sliding doors, and we love how the sofa converts to a bed should you be visiting as a larger group. Just keep in mind that this is in the living area, so it lacks some privacy.

There are vast green parks nearby for morning jogs, and when you're ready to hit the must-see sights, it's all just a couple of metro stops away. Back home, expect contemporary Scandi-inspired interiors and a balcony to call your own. If six guests share, the last two will have to make do with the sofa bed in the living room. Not ideal for some, but it could work great for a small family sharing.

Let’s start by saying something obvious from the outset – this Copenhagen penthouse is one of the most impressive apartments we’ve ever seen! Louise's eye for design, detail and hosting is extraordinary – she can even arrange for a private chef if that’s something you’re in the mood for. The home's interior is pure Scandinavian chic, with plenty of natural materials, sculptural light fittings and elegant furniture throughout. Through to the bedrooms and the neutral decor and blackout curtains making switching off at the end of the day an effortless experience. And if you thought that was the end of it, wait until you see the huge rooftop terrace – at over 2,500 sqft, it has to be one of the largest in the city. Its sheer size combined with views of the water, old Copenhagen, and the many modern buildings in Islands Brygge ensure that we can’t think of anywhere we’d rather be. And while it's true you won't be staying right in the heart of the city, we'd suggest hiring a bike so you can do as Copenhageners do. Truly extraordinary and one-of-a-kind, this home needs to be experienced at least once in your life.

Comfortable, convenient and chic, this apartment ticks a lot of boxes. It’s set a little out of the city centre, but a short Metro ride will take you to charming Nyhavn in less than half an hour. The location also means you're far removed from the crowds and traffic noise, with plenty of parks, canals, cosy cafes and museums to explore nearby. The small balcony is a nice bonus in Copenhagen, and the large dining table is well-equipped for dinner parties with your group. Located in Islands Brygge, the immediate area isn’t central – but if you love great views and easy access to the world-famous harbour baths, this home could be for you.

This city-centre apartment is seriously chic – we absolutely loved its minimalist Scandi vibes. The communal area is open and bright, offering plenty of space for all six guests to hang out together. There are thoughtful touches like vintage illustrated posters hanging on the wall above comfortable furniture from New Scandinavian Design maestros, Bolia. The glass-walled bedrooms are definitely a novel touch and create a strong impact. They certainly won't be to everyone's taste, but all have velvet curtains to pull across for some privacy when needed. With views onto Copenhagen's main shopping street, Strøget, you couldn't be better placed to hit the luxury boutiques and independent shops when the mood takes you. Plus, you're not far from the colourful waterside bars and restaurants of Nyhavn or the high culture of the Royal Danish Theatre – a little over a five-minute walk away.

There’s no place like home… Until you’ve stayed in Master of Light that is. Casual luxury at its finest, it’s Copenhagen at its best. The location is extraordinary – you’re right besides Nyhavn, the city’s most famous postcard motif. And we can’t get over the design. Alexander clearly has a passion for Danish design, with works by Bang & Olufsen and Hans J. Wegner adorning every corner. There’s also a fantastic rooftop terrace with a nine-person hot tub, sun beds and a lounge arrangement, plus fantastic views of Copenhagen's historic buildings.



Master of Light

Split across two levels with a wooden ladder connecting the two, this two-bedroom home is ideal for younger travellers looking to be right in the centre of Copenhagen. Even though it lacks in entertainment options, you’ll not have to worry about finding things to do because The Conrad is situated in a repurposed office building on top of Strøget, Copenhagen’s busiest shopping street.

Close to all the major attractions in Copenhagen – this apartment has a great location in Dronningegården. Kongens Have (The King's Garden) is a short stroll away, as is the city’s largest square Kongens Nytorv, home to the Royal Theatre. Housed in a building constructed in 1958, this apartment is ideal for friends or family looking for an excellent location. It sleeps up to six guests with two people sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room at full capacity. We should also mention that your hosts also provide free access to the local gym if you want to keep up your fitness regime while away.

You couldn’t ask for a more central spot for this Indre By apartment, set just steps from the iconic Magasin du Nord department store and a short stroll from Tivoli Gardens. Need to be someplace fast? The Metro is only minutes away, making exploring every corner of Copenhagen easy. Inside, the Scandi interiors of this light-filled home speak for themselves. That said, there are a few compromises to be made here. The main bedroom sleeps four, with both a double bed and a sofa bed, while a living room sofa bed sleeps another two. While this won’t suit everyone, it could work out great for a small family or close-knit group.

Centrally located and chicly styled, this apartment ticks all of our boxes. You'll be based in lively Indre By, just a short walk from Nyhavn's colourful harbour and Strøget's many shops. But even better than the location is the private roof terrace back home. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a Danish beer and admire the city views. Indoors, the pared-back interiors feature natural elements and lots of light. The kitchen isn't the biggest and there is some adult-themed artwork, but otherwise, it's a cosy option in the heart of the city.

With the Queen Margrethe as your next-door neighbour, it’s no wonder that the two-bedroom home has a grandiose and illustrious feel. Trendy Nørrebro is a short walk away, with plenty of shopping, parks and dining options nearby. The home is a short Metro ride from the city centre, but if you’re in search of a chic and well-equipped home, this is a great choice.

We love this studio apartment's location – it's steps away from Amager Strand. So, if you like to swim in the sea, kite surf or go for long walks on the beach, this is the place for you. The National Aquarium of Denmark is also just minutes away. The proximity to the airport and a metro station that takes you into the city centre in six minutes makes it ideal for tourists and business travellers alike. Back at this home's development, there's a shared gym, or relax on the king-sized bed in the apartment (there's no sofa or living room here). Yes, the kitchen is quite compact, but it does have an oven and hob, so you can still cook some Danish delicacies.

Sunlit Oasis

Brimming with Scandi charm, this top-floor apartment offers a stylish base in the centre of Copenhagen. Not only are the interiors comfortable and bright, but you also have the luxury of a private balcony with views of neighbouring red rooftops.

In this home, you'll feel a tangible sense of calm among the nude-toned furnishings and smooth textures. Wake up and prepare a coffee and Danish pastry in the sleek high-spec kitchen, then glide outside for a leisurely breakfast in the sun. After a morning of lounging in the homely living space, head downstairs and step straight into the city centre.

The widely photographed Nyhavn harbour, flanked by colourful buildings, is just a five-minute walk away. Enjoy lunch with a view before venturing to nearby Christiansborg Palace, a 12th-century structure that houses the government – you can also peruse its impressive collection of artwork. Looking for a central location near Copenhagen's landmarks? This minimalist apartment is a great choice. In five minutes, you can walk to the Royal Palace, Nyhavn, and Strøget, the famous shopping street. The design may be pared-back, but it's done well. There's an eat-in kitchen but no proper living area, so you'll need to unwind around the table. It's also on the third floor and doesn't have a lift. Still, we think being in such a convenient spot is worth it.

Just a five-minute walk from this apartment will take you to the City Hall Square and the central station. It's the same walking distance to Tivoli Gardens, a magical theme park with a century-old wooden roller coaster, gardens and restaurants. As with the rides at Tivoli, this apartment has some ups and downs – let's start with the good points. There's a shared garden perfect for beers in the summer, and the apartment itself is spacious. To enter the second bedroom, though, you will need to go through the third bedroom. This room doesn't have any windows but borrows light via French doors into the adjacent room, so privacy is also an issue – it’s probably fine for the kids, we would say.

Family Haven

This large studio-style apartment has a great address in Dronningegården, right behind Kongens Have (The King's Garden). You’ll also find nearby the city’s largest square Kongens Nytorv, home to the Royal Theatre. Housed in a 1950s building, this apartment has a small bedroom area with a king-size bed tucked away behind a half wall. This contemporary apartment is perfect for a group of friends or a family looking for a comfortable base in Copenhagen. It’s in a quiet building facing a courtyard, in the charming old city. The royal palace, Nyhavn, and Strøget are all five minutes away – you couldn’t ask for a more central location. The apartment has been designed to be a creative nest and a comfortable home-from-home. At full occupancy, three guests will sleep in the living space – it’s not the most private set-up for a long-term stay. 

Copenhagen Nest

Located right in the heart of Copenhagen, this eco-friendly apartment hits all the right notes when it comes to ease and simplicity. Outside, it’s a short stroll to Kongens Have and Kongens Nytorv. There are great public transport links and paid parking is available at a location nearby. Minimalists will appreciate the simple details of this apartment. It’s also family-friendly with space across two floors to stretch out and unwind. At full occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area but this works nicely for larger groups. 


The Daily Essentials 

Pictionary is just a five-minute walk away from Copenhagen’s Central station, which means that you’re very well-connected. Vesterbro is also lovely, especially if you’re looking to sample some new restaurants or coffee shops – or want to be in walking distance to Tivoli and Rådhuspladsen. It’s not the most characterful home on our books, but we like that it feels welcoming and bright. The kitchen is definitely the highlight – it’s large, modern, and well-equipped for cooking.

Situated in the heart of Copenhagen, this apartment provides a perfectly practical space for groups visiting the city. Tivoli Gardens is less than a ten-minute walk away, while nearby Ørstedsparken is a great spot for escaping the city buzz. The master bedroom can be set up with twin single beds upon request and the double sofa bed adds flexibility. Just keep in mind that the second bedroom is partly open to the living area, so it lacks some privacy. Otherwise, the two large bathrooms will help to speed mornings along, so you can head out and spend more time exploring all that the Danish capital has to offer.

This modern apartment is located in the northern part of Amager Strand. It’s in a quiet neighbourhood appreciated by nature-lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape – the beach is just up the road, with secluded beach gardens a stone's throw away. The apartment has a small terrace where you can breathe in the sea air and relax after a day spent at the shore. The city centre is just three Metro stops away if you fancy a spot of shopping or sightseeing. The apartment is comfortable and attractive, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a convenient kitchen. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living space, where privacy is limited. 

On the Strand

As expected for an 18th-century Copenhagen home, the layout of this large and oh-so-stylish studio is a little kooky. One bedroom with a handy desk nook is tucked into the eaves on a mezzanine, so it's not the most private of spaces. The living area, which houses a sofa bed for two guests, forms part of the main bedroom. And while the balcony is a bonus, it's pocket-sized. But you can't quibble with the location. Set slap bang in the middle of Indre By, you're within walking distance of all the city's must-sees. Get off to a flying start at the shopping mecca of Strøget – it's right outside your door. Just note that this is a central, noisy area – light sleepers may want to pack earplugs.

This penthouse apartment is located right on Strøget, the main pedestrian street in Copenhagen, making it ideal for visitors who want to explore the city on foot. Climb up to the top of the building and once you arrive, and you'll find a wonderfully light and welcoming space that's full of Scandi-style and designer furniture. The lovely kitchen and living space are great for socialising over some smørrebrødands and a glass of wine, and the gorgeous wooden floors and high windows add an extra level of charm. However, our favourite part of this home is the romantic little nook in the bay window where you can look out over the city's spires and rooftops. Back on ground level, you can stroll to Tivoli Gardens, the famous 19th Century amusement park, in less than ten minutes, while the iconic Nyhavn waterfront is a fifteen-minute walk away. 

The Olive Tree Loft

Copenhagen is a thriving hive of charisma, energy and charm – and you're perfectly placed to explore every avenue. This enchanting apartment is one of the colourful homes that line Nyhavn, a dreamy harbour of welcoming cafes and vibrant restaurants playing jazz. It's like walking through a Danish fairytale.

Begin your mornings wandering along the canal, coffee in hand as you bask in the picturesque scenery. Grab a pastry then stroll towards Christianhavn, one of the upbeat and flourishing hubs of the capital city. Here you'll find hip bars and eating spots to mingle with the locals. Stroget, Copenhagen's busy retail district, is the place to be if you want to immerse yourself in the city's shopping culture. If you're not after an adrenaline rush, gardens and fantastic restaurants are also nearby. Like the park rides, this apartment has many highs and a few lows. The lift takes you right to the top floor, and we love the characteristic beams. At full capacity, though, there's only one bathroom between eight people – you’d better work out a rota for the mornings.

Heritage Haven

You're right in the thick of things at this smart downtown apartment, perched along Copenhagen's shopping mecca of Strøget. The metro is just 100 metres from your door, though we doubt you'll need it with buzzy Nyhavn Harbour and countless happening restaurants and cosy cafes within walking distance. It's worth noting if four of you share, the last two guests will have to make do with the sofa bed in the living space. You'll also need to prepare for some street noise from time to time. But we'll take that for a home with such an unbeatable location.

Strøget Delight

Situated just one street from The Lakes, this penthouse apartment is perfectly positioned for waterfront strolls, coffees and drinks. This modern Scandi-style apartment is ideal for groups wanting to maximise their time both out and in, with a central location and a contemporary sociable space. If you’re visiting as a group of eight, two guests will sleep on the living area sofa bed, so you might need to call it early some nights. But then again, with plenty of bars and concert venues nearby, we’re sure you'll spend your evenings out experiencing the Copenhagen culture. 

Lake Haven

This home has gone all-in on the bold and clean design aesthetic, with large windows letting in plenty of light, creating a refreshing atmosphere. We adore the black matte kitchen – ready for you to cook up a storm to enjoy on the velvet tan seats while overlooking the charming city. Recognised as the happiest city in the world – that had to be telling you something, and even better, you get to experience it.

Tivoli Gardens, a thirteen-minute walk away, has 19th-century depictions of the Orient and provides a magnificent spectacle with thousands of colourful lights in the evening for you to enjoy. There is no city in the world that loves cycling more than Copenhagen, so rent a bike and go riding, heading to Nyhavn, a place you won't forget, with its brightly coloured gabled townhomes, salty boats, and frothy beer to savour while taking in the view. For some high culture, spend the evening at a jazz club or the Royal Danish Theater.
