In between swinging from the tee and swimming in the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, you'll probably need some down time at the villa. The dreamy outdoor space is where you'll spend most of your time, whether it's taking a dip in the pool or lounging on the sun beds.

A cute outdoor table is tucked under the veranda, perfect for sharing freshly made tapas and a crisp glass of Rioja wine. There's also a table inside, sheltered from the scorching rays of the sun, for the snug nights in.

When the orange hues of sunset illuminate the villa, make your way to the balcony on the second floor. Bring a camera to capture the romance of the moment with your favourite people. 

Birdies & Canaries

Just a two-minute stroll from the sprawling Las Canteras Beach, this sleek flat promises plenty of fun in the sun. Wake up, grab your towel and dip your toes in the Atlantic Ocean in just a few moments. Afternoons call for lounging in the sand, snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters and surfing the waves. When you grow peckish after a long swim, head to one of the beachfront restaurants in this neighbourhood – whether you fancy burgers or tapas, there's something within walking distance to whet everyone's appetite.

Come nightfall, make your way back to this stylish flat and unwind with a digestif on the soft blue sofa. It's bright, breezy and serene, with an open-plan living space just perfect for coming together. If you prefer your own cooking, the glossy white kitchen should have everything you need to rustle up something tasty, while the dining table can also double as a workspace if needed. We think the bedroom is equal parts comfortable and chic – an ideal respite after the hustle and bustle outside your door. 

Sun & Surf

This comfortable, functional apartment is nestled between two of Gran Canaria's beautiful black sand beaches in the eastern region of Telde. The amenities may be more basic than refined, but everything is all in order, with the living area making room for a dining table and flowing into a well-equipped kitchen. The sleeping areas are cosy and agreeable, as is the bathroom, while the private balcony is a pleasant addition catching plenty of sun. You'll be moments from the neighbourhood's popular bars and restaurants, while you'll also have the choice of Melenara to the north and Salineta to the south for a relaxing and unique day at the beach.

The Green Mirror

Right on the beachfront at La Canteras, this home has a fabulous spot. Take in the fantastic Atlantic and La Canteras Beach views from this home’s sunny and dazzling whitewashed terrace. You can even spot Mount Teide in Tenerife in the distance. We love this outdoor space, it's ideal for an alfresco breakfast (whizz up a drink in the juicer to accompany some churros). Later, do some sunbathing on the sun loungers. Inside, there are more of those fabulous vistas through the large sliding doors.

In the afternoon, perhaps head to La Canteras  Beach, under a minute stroll away. It’s one of the best urban beaches in the world, and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away. It’s a couple of minutes more to Casa-Museo de Colón, which documents Columbus’ voyages. 


Somewhere on a Beach

Admire the incredible views of La Canteras Beach from this home in Las Palmas. We love the enclosed balcony with its sea vistas. Inside, large windows allow light to flood in – take a seat on the comfy grey sofa and plan your day. Then, whip up an orange juice with the juicer and prepare a tortilla de patatas for breakfast before heading out to the beach.

Considered one of the best urban beaches in the world, the golden sands of La Canteras are under a two-minute stroll. Rent some sun loungers and spend the day here – there are plenty of cafes and restaurants to sample in the vicinity too. Or, for a bit of culture, Las Palmas Cathedral is a ten-minute ride away.


La Canteras Vistas

Modern, beautiful, and cosy, The property is a spacious and bright 4-room villa located in the heart of Punta Hidalgo. Nestled in a peaceful residential area just 130 meters from the sea, this charming villa offers a perfect blend of comfort and tranquility. Step into the open living/dining room with its tasteful and comfortable furnishings, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The villa features three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and breathtaking sea views. Get closer to nature in the beautiful garden or unwind in the hot tub. Explore nearby attractions such as Piscina Natural Punta del Hidalgo and Faro Punta del Hidalgo, or take a short walk to Playa del Arenal, a sandy beach perfect for sunbathing. Oceanview Hideaway

You've got the best of both worlds at this contemporary villa, set within one of Gran Canaria's most exclusive golf retreats and just an eight-minute drive from expansive golden sands and rolling dunes of Maspalomas beach and Playa del Inglés.

Friends getting together for a holiday will love how spacious this home feels, with two bedrooms spaced apart across the two-storey villa and offering up private shower rooms and direct access to suntrap verandas. But it's that outdoor terrace downstairs with a private heated pool and views of the fairways and mountains beyond that's caught our attention – it's the perfect spot to toast the day with drinks and a barbecue.

When it's time to hit the fairways of the resort's 18-hole golf course, it's just a 200-metre shot away. However, you don't need to be a dab hand with the clubs to enjoy the perks of this resort. Located on the grounds of a luxurious hotel complex, there are plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained (for an additional fee) – think playroom, playground, and kids club. And a spa and shared sunset infinity pool and bar for post-game relaxation. When thoughts turn to food, book yourself a table at the resort's renowned brasserie or mooch into Maspalomas for the evening at one of its smart seafront tavernas.

Sands Dunes & Salty Air 

Situated within a villa complex less than ten minutes' drive from Maspolamas, this recently renovated home will sing to those fond of contemporary design.

Large windows and glass doors bring plenty of natural light into the interior and this asset works particularly well with the wealth of reflective surfaces and stark white walls. There's a preference for minimalism in everything from the sleek kitchen to the pared-back approach to decoration, and we think the host has nailed it.

Besides, you might not actually be spending all that much time indoors, what with the swimming pool out in the garden, along with the barbecue and covered terrace complete with a lounge and alfresco dining table. Here, it's welcomingly easy to make the most of Gran Canaria's year-round warmth.

Elsewhere in the complex, there's a golf course 200m away from the home, as well as entertainment for children and a couple of shops and restaurants. You can also reach many of the beaches that run along the southern coastline of the island in under ten minutes' drive, while the Dunes of Maspalomas don't take much longer, either. 

Joy & Jubilance

A sophisticated studio in the heart of Las Palmas, this flat may be pocket-sized, but it's packed with style. Modern artwork, crisp cream walls, glossy wood floors – you definitely won't find any seaside kitsch here.

Start the day with a cup of coffee and a Spanish omelette prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen. If you need to attend to a few pesky work emails, pull up a chair and get down to business at the desk. Come evening, sprawl out on the white leather sofa with a glass of sangria and rest your feet after a day in the sunshine. 

And speaking of the weather, you won't find a sweeter spot to bask in the Gran Canaria rays than on Las Canteras Beach. And, even better, it's mere moments from your doorstep – about a minute's walk, in fact. The go-to place for surfing, sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling, chances are, you'll spend every moment with your toes in the sand. There's also an excellent selection of cocktail bars, beachfront restaurants and ice cream parlours nearby for those nights when you don't fancy cooking. What can be dreamier than that?

It Comes in Waves

This eco-friendly studio apartment is situated just moments away from the Las Canteras beach, making it a good base for a couple or a solo traveller. Thanks to the central location, a car is not essential here, as you’ll have plenty of shopping and dining options to choose from within walking distance. Public transport options are also excellent if you want to explore further afield. The pad may be compact in size but there’s enough space here for two guests to be comfortable, and with good internet speed, you can also catch up on work during your stay – although you'll have to set-up shop around the dining table since there isn't a desk.

Sailing for Sights

Looking for a smart bolthole in the heart of the capital that’s just footsteps from the beach? This fresh and contemporary apartment ticks the right boxes. Despite its studio set-up, the kitchen is well equipped to rustle up meals. Although, with the seafront tavernas close by for tapas in the evening sunshine, we suspect you might be eating out a lot. And while there’s no outdoor space to speak of, we don’t think you’ll mind with the famous Las Canteras Beach just 20 metres from your door.
