This apartment is within walking distance of an array of attractions, such as Parque Madrid Rio, Casa de Campo, the Royal Palace and La Almudena Cathedral. Of course, there are plenty of dining options to discover in the area, too. The apartment has a desk if you need to catch up on emails and a well-equipped kitchen for making some tapas. We have to say, we love the main bedroom with its dressing room and en-suite. This home is a great choice whether you’re here for leisure or work.

We challenge you to find a prettier apartment overlooking the Royal Palace of Madrid. This place is a real showstopper, with twin Juliet balconies opening over Plaza de Oriente Gardens. Bold, bright and just downright beautiful, it's dripping in character thanks to ornate cornice, traditional shuttered windows and classical furnishing. A riot of elegant colours and patterns, it couldn't be further from modern minimalism if it tried.

Once you've arrived and stared out of the window for long enough to take it all in, choose between the two pretty bedrooms – one decorated in calming greens, the other in vibrant terracotta. There's a grand, open-plan living space to keep everything sociable, and a kitchen with everything you'll need for cooking at home. But we suspect you'll be eating out much of the time – it would be rude not to when surrounded by some of the best cafes and restaurants in the city. And with most of the major attractions on your doorstep too, you'll have plenty to see and do.

This bright and comfortable apartment is just a stone’s throw from the Royal Palace of Madrid. The official residence of the Head of State is open to the public, so you can explore the spot where centuries of Spanish history took place. The apartment is also just in front of the Sabatini Gardens, and 100 metres from Príncipe Pio train station. Plaza de España is only a five-minute walk away, too. Two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, so things might feel a little crowded – you’re unlikely to be spending much time at home though.

Ten minutes from the alfresco drinking spots of Plaza Mayor, and just over fifteen from the lush greenery of the Parque de El Retiro, this apartment is a wonderful base in Madrid. Despite being so close to main attractions and located among the most vibrant streets, it’s a space where you can relax. This apartment is classy, colourful, and comfortable. The host has taken it upon themself to create a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city, curating an eclectic look with antiques and flea-market finds. We love the living and dining room, complete with mid-century chairs and a chandelier to create an elegant glow for dinner parties. Another fabulous use of light comes from the shuttered windows to your private balcony. With three sets of rich, wooden folding doors, you can step out to the railings with a glass of tempranillo after supper to watch the city light up at nightfall. With decorative, gilded bed frames in the sumptuous bedrooms, you’ll even feel stylish while you sleep. Rest up well, because you’ve got some exploring to do the next morning – the three galleries of the Art Walk are all less than fifteen minutes away.

With a fantastic address, just off the Paseo de la Castellana, this apartment has a wealth of attractions nearby. The upmarket districts of Salamanca, Chamberi and Justicia are all close, so you'll have plenty of fine restaurants, chic boutiques and art galleries to enjoy. With one of Madrid's main avenues on your doorstep, the slight downside is you will hear some street noise here, but it's easily fixed with some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. We have to say, we love the views over Plaza Villa de París from this home. The kitchen is well-equipped, so you can cook some homemade meals or let your host arrange a private chef to create some of your favourite tapas dishes.

There are plenty of tourist attractions within walking distance of this home. Go for riverside walks at the Parque Madrid Rio nearby, or visit the zoo and amusement park at Casa de Campo. Other places of interest include the Royal Palace and La Almudena Cathedral. There are plenty of eateries to sample, too, or head back to this apartment and cook some tapas dishes. All in all, we'd say this home is ideal for a business professional, solo traveller or couple.

Walking to Plaza Mayor or Palacio Real will be a breeze, but the nearby streets of Madrid's trendiest neighbourhood will have you stopping in art galleries and cosy bars along the way. This is a well-executed home with curated artwork, where special attention has been given to the details. It might not be the biggest home in our collection, but it has a pleasant, bohemian chic vibe that fits in perfectly in the spirit of Malasaña.

Located in one of Madrid's most charming neighbourhoods, the Barrio de las Letras –  step outside and you'll discover terrific restaurants, trendy bars, and little boutiques. It is noisy, but you're in the heart of the action here. Wander over to El Retiro Park, perfect for getting away from the city with a picnic in the park, and a stroll around the art in the 19th Century Crystal Palace. Chueca, famous for its active nightlife and wonderful vintage tapas bars, is a great place to experience Spanish nightlife. Most importantly, before hitting the bars, seek out a quaint restaurant for delightful tapas. This is all achievable due to the transport links that you can easily tour the entire city with.

From the open-plan living area to the breakfast bar, ideal for cooking up some morning delights. Light colours prevail with a splash of colour, adding elegance to the design and unique furnishings. The bedrooms are spacious and cheerful, thanks to large windows that let in plenty of natural light. Located just outside Plaza Mayor’s arches, this ideally located apartment is the perfect base for those looking to soak up Madrid's vibrant, buzzing centre. 

Blending rustic charm with stylish modern accents, this home feels wonderfully Spanish. We love the exposed beamed ceilings and the wood floors, as well as the houseplants and colourful rug in the living area that add additional characterful flair. 
 
The bedroom is elegantly pared back, offering a comfortable night’s sleep, while the dining area invites celebratory homemade tapas feasts when you’re not out sampling the local dining scene. 
 
Our favourite spot, however, is the private balcony with its wide-sweeping views over the city’s rooftops. Enjoy an alfresco breakfast here while catching some morning rays or watch the sunset from your privileged position over an evening glass of Spanish wine. 
 
When you’re ready to venture out for some sightseeing, you’ll find Plaza Mayor less than a minute’s walk away, while bustling Puerta del Sol is a four-minute stroll from your door. Elsewhere, the Royal Palace of Madrid is a ten-minute walk, the famous Museo Nacional del Prado is an eighteen-minute stroll, while leafy El Retiro Park is just over twenty minutes away on foot.

What a fabulous location this refurbished apartment has – Puerta del Sol, one of the best-known squares in the city, is just a two-minute stroll away. Or, a five-minute walk will take you to one of Madrid's most famous streets, Gran Vía. Watch a production at the Teatro EDP Gran Vía or have lunch at one of its many eateries. Alternatively, the iconic Plaza del Dos de Mayo is a fifteen-minute wander. Here, you'll find plenty of bars, as well as a lively weekend market for fresh produce.

After the plates are cleared, plan your itinerary at the dining table. We recommend starting with the Royal Palace, a mere ten-minute walk from your doorstep. If you’d like to stretch your legs a little further, it’s a thirty-minute stroll to El Retiro Park. Pause for a coffee on the buzzing Calle Cava Baja before picking a spot to bask in the sunshine beside El Retiro Lake.

A perfect base for city adventures, this home in the heart of Madrid is a refreshing blend of old and new. We particularly love the artsy living room, with its little balcony, and the bathroom, where you can freshen up in the rainfall shower under the banana leaf ceiling.

A pretty, quiet spot, but with all the major attractions – as well as all sorts of cafes, restaurants and bars – practically on your doorstep, it's an excellent choice.

In the heart of Madrid, just a few metres away from Plaza Mayor and within walking distance of Puerta del Sol, this city apartment couldn't be better located. Keep in mind that some noise should be expected here, but we think it's a small price to pay for this central spot. You'll find a great selection of restaurants on your doorstep if you'd like to sample the local cuisine, but if you'd prefer to dine in, the kitchen is well-equipped for homemade tapas.

It’s bright and welcoming, flooded with light, and has been beautifully decorated in muted tones. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space, we’d recommend a maximum occupancy of two.

While not overly flashy, Molten Bronze's simplicity is refreshing. The interior is clean, with a few things that really standout, like the kitchen splashback, which is not something we get to highlight very often. For the most part, the furniture and decorations come from Maison du Monde, so it’s solid and stylish, if not unique. The location won’t be for everyone – it’s on a busy street in Malasaña, so it isn’t very peaceful, but there’s loads to do and you won’t get bored.

Molten Brass is neat and tidy. There isn’t a lot that jumps out at you, but that’s not necessarily a problem – the atmosphere inside is pretty calm. That stands in contrast to the atmosphere on the street below, which is pretty intense, but that’s because you’re in the heart of Malasaña, so there’s tonnes to do. As is common with any flat that is rented out all the time, there’s a lack of personality but the attention to detail, and generally pleasant, if simple, design help make the flat feel more homely.


Molten Brass

The most remarkable thing about Espinas is the quiet. Despite having three balconies, and being in the middle of Lavapiés, the street it looks onto is actually fairly calm. The building is old, and a lot of the original structure features prominently in the flat, which has been designed to complement the space, rather than dominate it. There is some pretty loud wallpaper though, which stops the design from falling into the dreaded ‘neutral’ category.

Whether you're visiting Madrid for work, to catch up with family, or simply want to enjoy everything the city has to offer, this apartment is an excellent place to drop your bags. Situated in the Salamanca district, this smart spot reflects its sophisticated location perfectly – we think you'll feel at home in no time at all.  

Step inside, and you'll notice the abundance of natural light flowing in through the large windows, and the tranquil ambiance throughout. The open-plan layout maximises space and makes it easy to chat with your guests while you cook, eat and relax. You'll love the plush velvet sofa and luxurious details, like the statement lighting and marble bathroom. There's even a breakfast bar for quick morning coffees and a wonderful balcony area where you can sip a sundowner in the fresh air. 

Those that love the finer things in life will be happy to know that the grand boulevards of Salamanca are packed with opportunities to treat yourself. Head to the boutiques of the Golden Mile to pick out some designer pieces, before taking the nine-minute walk to Platea Madrid, a former theatre turned food hall. And, if you want to travel further afield. just hop on the Metro at Velázquez – it's only four minutes away on foot.

The terrace is the first thing that grabs your attention at this fabulous home, housed in a historic building dating back to 1919 – it's the perfect place for a glass (or a pitcher) of sangria. It really is a fantastic, south-facing outdoor space, with a sunshade – relax on the sun loungers or enjoy some alfresco tapas. There's an outside shower too to rinse off the suncream before going indoors. Inside, there's lots of light, and the huge living room is a wonderful space to entertain. We love the original artwork and colourful wallpapers in the bedrooms. This apartment is perfect for a group of friends, family or professionals on a business trip. We were surprised, as well, given its central, Calle Gran Vía location, how quiet it is here. Step out of the door, and you're on Madrid's most famous street, right in the centre of the capital. Here you'll find some of the city’s most iconic buildings, as well as boutiques, restaurants (let your lovely host make reservations) and bars galore. Take in the incredible views over Madrid from the roof terrace of Círculo de Bellas Artes, a cultural centre offering concerts and exhibitions, a five-minute stroll away. Or, get inspired at Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza with its masterpieces by Van Gogh, Caravaggio and Lichtenstein, nine minutes on foot.
