Whether you're a golf enthusiast, a sunworshipper, beach bunny, or Spanish food fanatic, here, you'll find yourself ideally placed for getting the most out of the Southern Spanish summer (or any time of year, really).

Awake in one of the lovingly decorated bedrooms, then, having refreshed in one of the contemporary yet classic bathrooms, step out onto the furnished terrace for a look at the magnificent view as it is bathed in a warm morning light. What better accompaniment to your first cup of coffee of the day? Well, perhaps a locally baked pastry comes a close second...

Will you hang out here a little longer? Catching a tan as you catch up with the characters from your latest novel? Or perhaps it's straight down to one of the three communal pools for a spot of swimming and socialising with the other holidaymakers? For those keen to keep fit while on their holidays, there is a fabulously well-equipped fitness centre – so why not head over there to work up a sweat (and give yourself the perfect excuse to regain those calories in one of the wonderful local eateries)? 

When I Met You in the Summer

Looking out over mountains and fields, the background of this home is idyllic – perfect for those looking for some seclusion. The interior, while a bit dated, includes everything you need for extended stays. The location is fairly rural, so a car is essential – the nearest restaurant and shops are 3 km away. And yet the kids shouldn't get bored, with the pool and play area sure to keep them occupied. If you fancy heading to the coast, you're 34 km from the centre of Malaga.

The Blue Melody

If you’re a fan of traditional homes fitted with modern amenities, this gorgeous villa in the heart of the Andalusian countryside will be right up your street. Boasting breath-taking views of the El Torcal mountain range, this is the perfect place to unwind with friends or family, offering plenty of room to relax and socialise as a group. 

Step inside and take in the traditional design features that make this home such a shining example of Andalusian architecture. From the beamed ceilings to the brick archways, every feature has been lovingly preserved by your hosts to make your stay here one to remember. Put your feet up in the open-plan living area and unwind by the stone fireplace or cross the cool tiles and make your way into the kitchen, where you’ll find everything you need to rustle up a delicious, Spanish-inspired feast for you and your fellow guests. 

As much as we love the interior here, we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to head straight outside, where you’ll find a beautiful, private swimming pool, perfect for cooling off when temperatures reach their peak. Dive straight in or stretch out on one of the shaded sun loungers and soak up gorgeous mountain views as you sip a cool glass of Andalusian wine. We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of a better way to spend the afternoon.

Over the Stream

Tucked away in the heart of the Andalusian countryside, this gorgeous holiday home is the perfect setting for a country escape with friends or family. Inside, simple but stylish furniture complements traditional design features, resulting in gorgeous living spaces that you’ll be more than happy to linger in. Throw open the wooden shutters and unwind in the light-drenched living room or make a beeline for the fully equipped kitchen, where you’ll find everything you need to whip up a Spanish-inspired feast for you and your entourage. 

As much as we love the interior here, it’s the outside space that really captured our imagination. Boasting a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool and breath-taking views of the Andalusian mountains, this is the perfect place to while away long summer afternoons. Stretch out on one of the poolside sun loungers and settle in for a day of sunbathing or beat the heat with a leisurely swim. Chances are it’ll still be warm when night falls, so why not hang around out here for a glass of wine and a spot of stargazing before turning in for the night? 

Andalusian Breeze

When you want to escape to the sunshine, you can’t do better than this delightful villa. It can be found in Antequera, in the rolling countryside hills of Andalucia. Admire the rustic views as you lounge beside the private swimming pool – the outside space here really is something special. 

A huge covered porch surrounds the villa, offering a splendid spot for your alfresco breakfast, an afternoon doze, or pre-dinner cocktails. Sun loungers surround the swimming pool, with a delightful Balinese-style day bed proving the most popular. Lie back with a good book, and enjoy the gauzy drapes fluttering in the breeze. 

Inside, the villa is warm and welcoming. A brick fireplace has pride of place in the living room, making this home a great choice for winter escapes too. It’s a bright and open villa – you’ll feel at home in no time. 


Hillside Happiness

If you think of an authentic Spanish home in the mountains, you’ll likely be picturing this villa. It’s a fine example of a traditional home in Spain, with tiled floors, exposed brick, and wooden beams. Best of all, it’s an oasis far from the tourist crowds of the cities. This villa sits in a rural spot just outside of the small town of Alora, in the Guadalhorce Valley. Dramatic mountains dominate the skyline surrounding the home, so your eye is constantly drawn to the view. It’s a rustic escape in a tranquil part of Spain, where you can really focus on relaxing and making happy holiday memories. 

The villa is comfortable and welcoming, with all the basics you might need for a break. If you’re anything like us though, you’ll be spending most of your time outside – it’s where this home really shines. The covered terrace with a barbecue and outdoor dining area is perfect for every meal, whether you’re sipping your morning coffee with pastries, or settling down to languid lunches that evolve into late-night feasts. All the while, the sweeping view of the mountains serves as a breath-taking backdrop. 

When you’re not dining alfresco, you’ll be swimming in the private swimming pool, or soaking up the sun alongside it. Revel in the peaceful setting as you float in the cool water, feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. It’s absolute bliss. 


Mountain Mirage

This apartment combines a desirable location with fabulous perks to bring you a relaxing stay in southern Spain. The real standout is the private terrace, complete with sun loungers, garden chairs, and a dining area. It's ideal for group breakfasts come morning – or perhaps you'll wait until later on for a grilled supper at home. On top of that, you'll also have access to the on-site pool, gym, and sauna, shared with the other residents. You will need a car to get around, but there is private parking, plus it's just a short drive to the nearest beaches and golf courses. 

Boca de Amor

This colourful Andalusian home offers a great space for spending quality time with your loved ones. The design is quite unusual in parts, though it also adds to its charm. It’s furnished with a fully-equipped kitchen and the living area features a cosy fireplace –  perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. Outside, the home boasts a private pool, as well as a barbecue area for cooking up a storm while taking in the stunning scenery. The town of Cártama is within walking distance, where you’ll find a number of shops, eateries and bars. 

Mountain Sky

Deep within the Andalucian mountains, this petit villa is a retreat surrounded by big scenery. Gaze at the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance from the comfort of a sun lounger. Plunge into the turquoise water, swim and few laps and repeat. A built-in brick barbecue with a prep area provides the outdoor cooking station, and lunch can be served on the shaded terrace. 

Despite the traditional exterior, with its white walls and terracotta roof, the inside feels clean and modern. The solid wood door opens up to an open kitchen, living and dining room in muted tones of lightwood and grey. So, from the cook in the kitchen to the kids lounging on the big, L-shaped sofa, everyone can easily spend time together. A set of bunk beds in the second bedroom lets you know this place is family-friendly.

In terms of location, you’re surrounded by peace and quiet. The charming Andalucian town of Cartama is a 6km drive away and hopping on the highway sees you at the historic city of Malaga – the birthplace of Picasso and home to a honey-hued winding old centre. 

Clubs & Cabanas

It isn’t hard to imagine yourself in a total state of bliss when vacationing in this beautiful villa right at the foot of Torcal de Antequera. Wake up early with the sole purpose of watching the sunrise from the generous balcony before returning to bed with a cup of coffee and a good book. After a lazy morning you might have a delicious breakfast alfresco as you plan the day’s itinerary, or maybe you’ll just set off in search of adventure, finding it wherever the road takes you – the bakery a few minutes away is probably a good place to start. 

The heart of Málaga, and the beautiful coastline that goes along with it, can be explored by car and whilst you’re out, you may as well sample every tapas bar within sight until you’ve found your favourite. 

Back home, barbecue, swim, and sunbathe to your heart's content, sitting outside even as warm afternoons turn into balmy evenings. When you eventually retire inside, light a fire and grab a glass of fortified wine as you play a board game or watch a movie together as a family.
