If you’re a fan of traditional homes fitted with modern amenities, this gorgeous villa in the heart of the Andalusian countryside will be right up your street. Boasting breath-taking views of the El Torcal mountain range, this is the perfect place to unwind with friends or family, offering plenty of room to relax and socialise as a group. 

Step inside and take in the traditional design features that make this home such a shining example of Andalusian architecture. From the beamed ceilings to the brick archways, every feature has been lovingly preserved by your hosts to make your stay here one to remember. Put your feet up in the open-plan living area and unwind by the stone fireplace or cross the cool tiles and make your way into the kitchen, where you’ll find everything you need to rustle up a delicious, Spanish-inspired feast for you and your fellow guests. 

As much as we love the interior here, we wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to head straight outside, where you’ll find a beautiful, private swimming pool, perfect for cooling off when temperatures reach their peak. Dive straight in or stretch out on one of the shaded sun loungers and soak up gorgeous mountain views as you sip a cool glass of Andalusian wine. We don’t know about you, but we can’t think of a better way to spend the afternoon.

Over the Stream

Deep within the Andalucian mountains, this petit villa is a retreat surrounded by big scenery. Gaze at the Sierra Nevada mountains in the distance from the comfort of a sun lounger. Plunge into the turquoise water, swim and few laps and repeat. A built-in brick barbecue with a prep area provides the outdoor cooking station, and lunch can be served on the shaded terrace. 

Despite the traditional exterior, with its white walls and terracotta roof, the inside feels clean and modern. The solid wood door opens up to an open kitchen, living and dining room in muted tones of lightwood and grey. So, from the cook in the kitchen to the kids lounging on the big, L-shaped sofa, everyone can easily spend time together. A set of bunk beds in the second bedroom lets you know this place is family-friendly.

In terms of location, you’re surrounded by peace and quiet. The charming Andalucian town of Cartama is a 6km drive away and hopping on the highway sees you at the historic city of Malaga – the birthplace of Picasso and home to a honey-hued winding old centre. 

Clubs & Cabanas

You’ll find this family-friendly villa around a ten-minute drive from Coín and thirty minutes from Malaga. The outside space steals the show with its private pool, hot tub and mountain views from the seating area. If you’re staying with little ones, there’s a playhouse and a games room to keep them occupied. The interior style might not be to everyone’s taste, but the bedrooms are comfortable, and the kitchen has everything you need for home cooking. At capacity, two guests will sleep on a sofa bed. 

The Crimson Moon

This freshly renovated home in Cartama uses a minimalist and modern style to maximise the internal and outdoor space, offering a relaxing setting away from the hustle and bustle. The outdoor area is just as charming as the interiors – unwind and rest, spend some time with your loved ones in the shade of the trees, and even try your hand at basketball before continuing to the 4-hole mini golf course. Lie by the pool, soak up the sun, and admire the crystal-clear waters that give a spa-like experience inside the confines of your holiday home. When noon arrives, prepare a barbecue, dine alfresco beneath the pergola, and wander among the farm fruit trees to taste the fresh and ecological fruits. Inside, you'll discover a peaceful atmosphere of neutrals with a hint of yellow – unwind on the soft sofas and chat away. While the bedrooms provide the best in comfort at the end of the day.

The proximity to Malaga and its amazing landmarks, Torremolinos with its famed chiringuitos, and the breathtaking landscape of the province's interior allow you to experience varied day trips every day. Explore Malaga's trendy bars and food markets, before sitting next to Gothic cathedrals and Roman ruins, appreciating the outstanding architecture. 


A Shade of You

Nestled in a residential complex in Benalmadena Costa, this modern pad is just a short walk from the sands of Los Alamos Beach and a short drive from Torrequebrada Golf and Paloma Park. You'll find a communal outdoor pool here, inviting you to spend a day sun-soaking and swimming when you’re not parasailing or jetskiing off the beach. With a private balcony and handt sofa bed, this minimal apartment provides a fuss-free stay with your loved ones.

Summer's Joy

When you want to escape to the sunshine, you can’t do better than this delightful villa. It can be found in Antequera, in the rolling countryside hills of Andalucia. Admire the rustic views as you lounge beside the private swimming pool – the outside space here really is something special. 

A huge covered porch surrounds the villa, offering a splendid spot for your alfresco breakfast, an afternoon doze, or pre-dinner cocktails. Sun loungers surround the swimming pool, with a delightful Balinese-style day bed proving the most popular. Lie back with a good book, and enjoy the gauzy drapes fluttering in the breeze. 

Inside, the villa is warm and welcoming. A brick fireplace has pride of place in the living room, making this home a great choice for winter escapes too. It’s a bright and open villa – you’ll feel at home in no time. 


Hillside Happiness

This charming villa can be found on the rural outskirts of Cártama, in the province of Malaga. The interiors aren't the most exciting, but the home is bright and clean – and designed to comfortably accommodate a family of six. Outside, you'll find a shaded terrace, sun loungers, and a fenced swimming pool with impressive views of the mountains. The local town of Cártama is just a short drive away, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, and bars. Located just 7km from Malaga City – you're not too far from the hustle and bustle either. 

Sun On The Mountains

Bright and quirky, this rural home – only minutes away from the heart of Estacion de Cartama – is the perfect escape for anyone looking to explore Malaga at a more relaxed pace.

Start mornings off in the farmhouse-style kitchen by preparing breakfast for everyone to enjoy at the powder-blue dining table found on the shaded terrace. Stay out there long after, tying to decide what shape your day might take. 

Pledge yourself to the pool, either in or around, if you’re spending the day at home. Get some holiday reading done in the grassy nook of the garden, making sure to have a glass of wine or an ice-cold cocktail to hand. Of course, the living room also has a cushy sofa that’ll mould perfectly to you as you enjoy a cup of coffee, nose in novel. 

Away from home you can have lunch in town or go for a morning hike in the Senda del rio Guadalhorce area, only minutes away. Return with tired limbs, and run a luxurious bath before spending evenings stargazing or watching a movie together in the living room.

Rainbow Drops

Looking out over mountains and fields, the background of this home is idyllic – perfect for those looking for some seclusion. The interior, while a bit dated, includes everything you need for extended stays. The location is fairly rural, so a car is essential – the nearest restaurant and shops are 3 km away. And yet the kids shouldn't get bored, with the pool and play area sure to keep them occupied. If you fancy heading to the coast, you're 34 km from the centre of Malaga.

The Blue Melody

The view from the large, private terrace of this Benalmadena apartment shows off just how close you are to the town’s soft-sanded beach. It’s just across the road, and all along the seafront you’ll find Benalmadena’s main attractions – dolphin tours, the huge marina and myriad bars and restaurants. Glass doors lead to the sitting room with a full, open kitchen for meals at home and there’s a dining table inside big enough for the whole group. The bedrooms are a little sparse but they’re perfectly comfortable. 

Where Strides the Wind

Surrounded by Mediterranean forest, fruit trees, corn fields and olive groves, this picture-perfect villa offers a rural retreat in the village town of Alhaurin el Grande. 

Away from the tourist resorts of Costa del Sol, this home is perfect if you're looking to experience a more mellow side of Málaga. Located within an easy drive of the coastline, escape the hustle and bustle without being too far removed from the area's beautiful beaches.

Boasting a gorgeous, flower-filled garden and saltwater lake pool, the grounds effortlessly mirror their countryside surroundings, allowing you to feel at one with the scenery. Spend your days swimming across the expansive turquoise waters, working out in the private gym and sipping coffee on the patio, which provides some welcome shade from the Spanish sun. 

Evenings were made for alfresco dinners at this home – throw some of your favourite barbecue foods on the grill and tuck in with a glass of wine or sangria. Round off a perfect night by heading indoors to put the wood burner on a watch a movie.


The Allure of Azure

This remarkable home dates back to the late 19th century but a quick tour will quickly show you that there have been a number of changes made in the ensuing years. For starters, the large swimming pool is a relatively recent addition – and a welcome one, at that – as is the huge Jacuzzi in its own separate annexe. There's a contemporary sleekness to the kitchen and bathrooms in the main house, as well.

That being said, a certain sense of heritage has been expertly retained during the recent refurbishment and there's an undeniable character in the exposed stonework, wooden ceiling beams and the elegant staircase that takes you up to the bedrooms. The tall verandah complete with a barbecue, alfresco dining table and views of the Andalusian countryside through the archways is an impressive feature, too.

Although the surrounding area feels peaceful, there are a pair of towns –Alhaurin el Grande and Alhaurin de la Torre – that both lie about 5km from the home. Torremolinos's sandy beach is a 15km-journey, while there are plenty of golf courses and prime hiking terrain to be discovered nearby.
