Seeing its baroque tower is reason enough to spend big chunks of time out on the balcony, but we’ll give you a couple more anyway. For one, romantic dinners could be had by candlelight as the stars come alive up above. The balcony also makes for a great reading spot for bookworms wanting to spend some time on their own with a freshly brewed coffee and a holiday romance novel. 

Come inside through the traditional Andalusian floor-to-ceiling doors to admire the exposed beams and vaulted ceilings as you sink into the sofa. Grab a bite in the compact kitchenette before handling a few work emails at the little workstation and head out after to explore the beautiful city. The Alcazaba fortress with lush gardens and a sea view is only a ten minute walk away. Stop off there for a backdrop to the perfect holiday group photos and head to the beach after for salty surf and sandy beaches.

This practical apartment is located in the heart of Malaga's historic centre, just a stone's throw away from tourist hotspots such as Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitución, and the Picasso and Thyssen Museums. While it’s not the most characterful pad in our collection, a sofa bed in the living area offers flexible sleeping arrangements, and the Juliet balcony in the main bedroom is a nice touch too. The kitchenette is a little basic for our liking, but given the home’s stellar spot, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby, offering a true taste of Malagan living. 


A Bit of Sunrise

Situated in Málaga’s charming old town, this apartment is perfect for those who like to be in the thick of it. Here, you’re within touching distance of some of the city’s most famous landmarks – Málaga Cathedral and the medieval Hammudid-Nasrid Alcazaba are no more than a fifteen-minute walk from your doorstep. Weave through the cobbled streets, stopping for a bite to eat in unchanging tapas bars, before finding a spot to stretch out on Malagueta Beach, reached in twenty minutes by foot. 

Back at home, the cosy living space is a welcome sight after a busy day spent exploring. This notable street is dotted with baroque landmarks and well worth a stroll through. Elsewhere, you’ll find ornate churches and coffee shops, scattered around plazas, where you can sit down and watch people go by. The beach is around a fifteen minute walk and on your way back you can swing by the Atarazanas public market to pick up supplies for dinner. 

Put together a little tapas platter in the compact kitchen and take it out onto the generous terrace. Toast to a day well spent as the last of the Mediterranean sun slips away and stay out under the Spanish night sky, making plans for the next day, until exhaustion catches up with you. Retreat to the comfortable bedrooms, but not before treating yourself to a long soak in the tub.

Not only are historical sites, restaurants and beaches all within walking distance, but you're only a quick stroll from the 15th-century Santo Domingo de Guzman Church and some of Malaga’s most famous landmarks. The Interactive Music Museum and Picasso Museum can be reached within minutes, while the golden sands of Playa la Malagueta are just a little further – about a twenty-minute walk.

Positioned on the first floor of a historic building, this home charms from the outset. Step inside and discover an exquisitely renovated interior, blessed by heaps of natural light and furnished in a contemporary design aesthetic. We especially love the open-plan living space, where high ceilings and a minimalist colour palette create a free-flowing ambience primed for relaxation. Situated in Malaga's old town, this home's street takes its name from the freshwater wells that provided water to the many convents in the area. Anyway, the location is highlight number one. The second is this apartment's roof terrace (reached via a spiral staircase) with views over the city's rooftops and churches – the perfect spot for cocktails. Inside, we love the open-plan living space with its double-height ceiling, and the Juliet balconies make the area light and bright. You're bound to hear some city noise here, but with such a great address as this, we think it's a small price to pay.

Amid the buzz of central Málaga, this apartment brings a touch of calm to its historic location. From the minimal aesthetic to the open-plan design and small terrace, you’ll find everything you could need for a laid-back city stay. Complimentary toiletries are provided and children’s amenities can be arranged, plus laundry service is available on request. You may hear some street noise while you are here, but the location means easy access to local restaurants, shops and cafes. You’ll also find it’s just a short stroll to the Cathedral and Larios Street.

Take your pick from La Malagueta Beach, the Pompidou Museum, and the Plaza de Toros – it's all just a ten-minute walk from your door. While its central location is impressive, and the bustling street cafes below the apartment are handy, you can inevitably expect some street noise here. It's also worth noting that if six of you share, the last two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge. Not ideal for some, but for a bolthole this central, we think it's a keeper.

It’s just a short stroll from Malaga’s top sights, including the cathedral. You’ll also have your pick when it comes to restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is bright and modern, a comfortable home-from-home. At maximum occupancy, two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living room – if you’re hoping for more space for socialising, we recommend sticking to a guest count of four.
