The second is this apartment's roof terrace (reached via a spiral staircase) with views over the city's rooftops and churches – the perfect spot for cocktails. Inside, we love the open-plan living space with its double-height ceiling, and the Juliet balconies make the area light and bright. You're bound to hear some city noise here, but with such a great address as this, we think it's a small price to pay.

It’s worth noting there are stairs leading up to the main entrance, but once inside you’ll find the rooms are ideal for relaxing, cooking or catching up on work. While it’s not the most characterful pad in our collection, a sofa bed in the living area offers flexible sleeping arrangements, and the Juliet balcony in the main bedroom is a nice touch too. The kitchenette is a little basic for our liking, but given the home’s stellar spot, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby, offering a true taste of Malagan living.

Location-wise, take your pick from the sightseeing hotspots and La Malagueta Beach – just a ten-minute stroll away.

While the buzzy cafes and bars on your doorstep are a bonus, you can expect some street noise here. So if you’re after peace and quiet, this might not be the home for you. It’s also worth noting that if eight of you share, the last four guests will sleep on a mezzanine-level bed and a double sofa bed in the lounge area. Not ideal for some, but it could work great for a small family sharing or a few friends.

And, on warm days, you can throw open the shutters and watch the street scenes below from the Juliet balconies. 

From here, you can stroll down to the beach and spend a day soaking up the sun on the sand. There's also plenty to keep culture fans busy, from the Picasso Museum to the imposing Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga. And, you won't want to miss the Castillo de Gibralfaro, a ruined Moorish fort with spectacular views.
