Dine al fresco on fresh patatas bravas and gaze out at the town’s famous Renaissance cathedral or savour a refreshing glass of tinto de verano – Andalusia’s answer to sangria – while you take in the sights and sounds of the food market below. 

You’re right in the heart of the action here, so why not make the most of it? Step out into Plaza de la Merced and settle in for a day of people-watching at a local cafe or wander down to Malagueta Beach for a relaxing midday swim. Nestled in the heart of Málaga’s historic centre, this penthouse apartment makes a great base from which to explore the city. From here, it’s just a short stroll to the Cervantes theatre and the Plaza de la Merced (Pablo Picasso's birthplace), while the beach is just 1.2 kilometres away. And when you’re in search of rest, make your way home to relax on the private terrace. You’ll need to bring your own essentials, but the rooms are family-friendly plus there’s an outdoor kitchen – perfect for al fresco dining. 

Catch the Sunset

Get acquainted with historic Malaga at this period-building apartment set just a short walk from the sightseeing hotspots and La Malagueta Beach. An excellent option for two families or groups of friends sharing, each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom to speed along your mornings. It’s worth noting if ten of you share, the last two guests will sleep on a double sofa bed in the lounge, and there’s also only room for eight of you around the dining table. However, with countless cafes and restaurants on your doorstep, you’ll probably be eating out instead.    

Touch of Sun

Located only a five-minute walk away from Malaga town centre, this bright home overlooking a vibrant street also has a view of the beautiful 15th century San Juan church. Seeing its baroque tower is reason enough to spend big chunks of time out on the balcony, but we’ll give you a couple more anyway. For one, romantic dinners could be had by candlelight as the stars come alive up above. The balcony also makes for a great reading spot for bookworms wanting to spend some time on their own with a freshly brewed coffee and a holiday romance novel. 

Come inside through the traditional Andalusian floor-to-ceiling doors to admire the exposed beams and vaulted ceilings as you sink into the sofa. Grab a bite in the compact kitchenette before handling a few work emails at the little workstation and head out after to explore the beautiful city. The Alcazaba fortress with lush gardens and a sea view is only a ten minute walk away. Stop off there for a backdrop to the perfect holiday group photos and head to the beach after for salty surf and sandy beaches. 

Balcony & Beam

This practical apartment is located in the heart of Malaga's historic centre, just a stone's throw away from tourist hotspots such as Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constitución, and the Picasso and Thyssen Museums. While it’s not the most characterful pad in our collection, a sofa bed in the living area offers flexible sleeping arrangements, and the Juliet balcony in the main bedroom is a nice touch too. The kitchenette is a little basic for our liking, but given the home’s stellar spot, you’ll find plenty of restaurants, bars and shops nearby, offering a true taste of Malagan living. 


A Bit of Sunrise

Along a handsome street in Malaga's historic centre, just steps from Picasso's birthplace, the famous Plaza de la Merced, sits this exquisitely renovated home. You'll immediately fall in love with its pastel-hued facade, exuding authentic charm with its white shuttered windows and iron-clad balconies. Here, you're only five minutes from Malaga Cathedral and the Picasso Museum and sixteen minutes from Malagueta Beach on foot.

The interior is beautifully equipped for families, boasting all the bells and whistles for a want-for-nothing stay and plenty of space for large groups to kick back and relax. Situated in Malaga's old town, this home's street takes its name from the freshwater wells that provided water to the many convents in the area. Anyway, the location is highlight number one. The second is this apartment's roof terrace (reached via a spiral staircase) with views over the city's rooftops and churches – the perfect spot for cocktails. Inside, we love the open-plan living space with its double-height ceiling, and the Juliet balconies make the area light and bright. You're bound to hear some city noise here, but with such a great address as this, we think it's a small price to pay.

Rooftop Sol

Only steps away from the chic shopping street of Calle Marqués de Larios, this bohemian apartment places you in the heart of Málaga's historic quarter. Whether you amble along to the Catedral de la Encarnación or pop into the Picasso Museum, all of the city's major sights centre around this very spot. Sunbathing is simple when you visit Playa de la Malagueta, and we recommend snacking at the seafood shacks that line these popular sands.

Spread over two floors, this beautiful home holds enough space to host a full family holiday.
