A stone's throw from the golden sands and pumping surf of Zurriola beach and just across the Urumea river from San Sebastián's atmospheric old town, this apartment occupies a prime position in the trendy Gros neighbourhood. While the interior decor is on the more basic side, it's got Juliet balconies that are a nice touch, and the sleeper sofa in the living room provides more flexible sleeping options. Down at street level, the vintage shops and independent boutiques of Plaza De Cataluña are just a few minutes on foot, with plenty of pintxos bars lining the surrounding streets. Alternatively, elevate your culinary experience with Michelin-starred options in the casco viejo.

Add to this, the vibrant Plaza Cataluña in the heart of the Old Town is only 200 metres away, and you have the perfect spot. It’s good that this home stands out for its fantastic address, as the apartment is quite traditional in style and at full capacity, there may be queues forming outside the one bathroom. This home does have a comfy and homely vibe, though, as well as attractive features such as leaded stained-glass windows and French doors opening to Juliet balconies.

Welcome Back

We can find very little to fault with this apartment just around the corner from Amara railway station. A recent renovation means that the interior design feels vibrant and modern, with pops of colour coming from the house plants, eclectic artwork and the kitchen's bold red surfaces.

The home's high ceilings and shiny wooden floors work well with the ample amount of natural light that comes in through the French doors, while there's even a small balcony in case you want to feel the sunlight on your skin at any point.

We should mention that the central location is nothing short of superb. La Concha beach is all of five minutes' walk away, while the famous Old Town and Mount Urgull are about double that time. The charming Plaza Easo is less than sixty seconds on foot from the front door, too.


Oh So Leisurely

Filled with natural light, this home practically shimmers. Bright white surfaces and sleek furnishings give this home a clean, crisp feel. It’s a great base for your stay in the Basque city of San Sebastián. 

Mornings here are particularly lovely, with the early sunlight dancing off the reflective surfaces. Take your morning coffee outside to feel the morning sun on your skin, watching the street below come to life. Dusk is just as beautiful – nothing beats watching the sky change colours with a glass of local wine in hand.

If you get itchy feet, the charming Old Town is around a twenty-minute walk away – stroll by the Bay of La Concha, marvelling at the vista, before reaching the gold-hued buildings of the Old Town.

This comfortable apartment sits right on the beachfront, close to all San Sebastián has to offer. Drop your bags and head right out to the lively Zurriola beach, popular with surfers. Simple and practical, the twin beds are great for children, and the sofa pulls out to transform the living room into a comfortable bedroom. The cosy conservatory is a great touch, offering sea views and letting the sunlight fill the space throughout the day. With just a stroll between you and the nearest restaurants and shops, you'll be getting to know the city in no time.

We suspect we aren't the only ones with a weakness for a sea view and this San Sebastian apartment more than delivers on that front. Not only can you gaze out at the invitingly blue waters of La Concha Bay through the living room's huge window, but you're also treated to a coastal vista from the small balcony.

Back inside, there's much to like about the light-filled living quarters. The interior design is simple but tasteful – we're talking wooden floors, pastel hues on the wall and a couple of pieces of artwork. You might find the fact that there are two small kitchens rather than one large one an odd choice on the architect's behalf, but look at it as generosity instead, particularly as there are a pair of living rooms as well.

When it comes to seeing a little more of this Basque town, La Concha Beach is all of fifty metres from the front door and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. At the same time, the charming Old Town is easily reachable on foot, too.

Saint of the Sea

If location is your top priority, then look no further than this apartment in the heart of San Sebastian. You’ll find yourself no more than a ten-minute walk from both the Old Town and La Concha Beach. The home itself is simple and straightforward with comfortable bedrooms and a clutter-free living area. While there’s some wear and tear in the bathroom and the kitchen could do with a refresh, everything works as it should. 

Deep Inside

A homely apartment in the centre of Donostia–San Sebastián, this home makes for a comfortable base from which to explore the city and the Basque coast. The interior offers plenty of space to unwind amongst the eclectic and industrial designs, but the sea views are the main draw here – and since the living room and both bedrooms are seafront-facing, every guest can enjoy the rolling waves. You'll find everything you need to cook in the kitchen, although San Sebastián’s local pintxos bars and authentic restaurants are just a short stroll away.

Still, it’s comfortable, and you can easily sample the abundance of restaurants right on your doorstep from here. With the train station a short stroll away, the entire region is at your 


Patchwork of Sunny Dreams

Minimal and filled with natural light, this apartment invites you to experience San Sebastián from a laidback location. You can still soak up the Basque energy from your private balcony – a prime spot to share a glass of Txakoli wine after a day exploring the Old Town – whilst enjoying quieter moments. We love the River Urumea views from the large bay windows in the elegant living space with its parquet wood flooring and comfy chaise sofa. After a cafe con leche and some pastries for breakfast, get ready in the marble-clad pink bathroom and go and explore this fabulous location.

Spend the day on the nearby golden sands – it's just a five-minute walk to Zurriola and La Concha beaches. Watch the surfers or have a refreshing dip in the Cantabrian Sea, then explore San Sebastián's old town. Of course, as you'd expect, there are plenty of bars and eateries nearby to enjoy too.


A River Flows

Absolutely surrounded by cafes, bars, and restaurants, this stylish home in San Sebastián is a foodies idea of heaven. But you don’t need to be clued up on the difference between kale and cavolo nero to appreciate all that’s on offer here. The inside, for one, is a beautiful blend of crisp white and intricate patterns – a credit to the host, as it takes a trained eye to mix as many motifs without a clash. The sleek black kitchen sits in sharp contrast to the rest of the home and is pretty spacious, so if you do want to try and replicate some of the recipes you've come across, then we’re sure your family and friends would love to sample it around the dining table. 

From the lounge, you can keep an eye on the beachfront, but why not move a little closer with a glass of rioja and sit out on the balcony overlooking the Cantabrian Sea. Watching the sunset from here would undoubtedly be beautiful, but we recommend walking six minutes to the Sagües park known for sunset walks. 

Spend one whole day exploring Old Town – it is a thirty-minute walk to get there, but there are a couple of historical landmarks, as well as an observation deck that looks out over the ocean, that’s well worth the trip.
