This duplex apartment is pure Alpine bliss with a lengthy wooden balcony typical of Courcheval ski chalets and an interior of knotted pine wood and stone grey. The Scandinavian-style dining table is big enough for the whole group to gather for a post-slope hot drink and pristine, grey sofas are laden with faux fur cushions for that hygge feel. And, if you head outside, there is a private terrace with views across to Mont Blanc, along with a shared garden where kids can play in the fresh air. 

Le Prarion lift is only a five-minute drive away, so you can don your skis and enjoy a brilliant day shredding some powder on the slopes. When it's time for some après-ski fun, then head into Les Houches or take the eight-minute drive over to the famous resort of Chamonix, with its upmarket restaurants and decadent bars. And, during the warmer months, there is a wealth of activities right on your doorstep – from horse riding and mountain biking to rock climbing and even paragliding, you won't run out of things to do easily. 

Mazot in the Mountains

This cosy, wooden home is located just 800 meters from the centre of Val Thorens and 10 km from the centre of Les Ménuires. It is situated on a sunny slope directly by the skiing area, with slopes just 50 meters away. The well-known ski regions of Les 3 Vallées are easily accessible. The upper floor contains one large room with a south-facing position. The second upper floor includes a spacious living room with an open-hearth fireplace, dining table, and TV, along with an open kitchen equipped with all necessary amenities. The top floor has two rooms with sloping ceilings. The property is non-smoking only and allows for one pet or dog.

Lovingly renovated in 2020, this home in the heart of the Val d’Arly has both charm and location on its side. You don’t have to look far to find proof of the enviable position – simply wander out onto the balcony and you’ll spot the rolling green mountain there as confirmation. But it isn’t just about the views either, not when the ski slopes of Les Evettes are a mere 1.8 miles away and can be reached via the free shuttles that run in season. Get on the snow and test your mettle on the different ski runs, before coming back for a warming Après-ski drink on the balcony. 

The mix of natural wood and a light colour palette makes this home feel incredibly cosy and we can imagine ourselves curling up on the couch in thick socks and a slouchy jumper. Enjoy cups of coffee as you socialise in the lounge, or carve out some you-time by getting your nose in a novel. 

With ample windows, the home is not only bright and inviting, but it means you get to keep an eye on the view even when you’re having a meal at the dining table, or settling in to watch a movie together.

It may be perfectly set up for a skiing holiday, but it’ll tend just as nicely to a nature lover’s green spirit whilst giving the whole group a space in which to relax and rejuvenate.

Nestled away in the mountain village of Termignon, this rustic retreat offers a warm, homely welcome after a day out enjoying the slopes. Head home and pull off your ski boots when the cold is nipping a little too enthusiastically at your nose. Step foot inside this charming apartment and take in the cosy living area before you, awash with light from the generous windows and skylights. The open-plan area is such a perfect social spot, so as everyone gathers at the table to exchange stories from the day, dinner can be gently simmering away in the kitchen. With all of the outdoor activities this area promises (six glaciers and sixty-three summits in this little village alone), a hearty meal will be just what you need to refuel after a fun-filled day. 

After dinner, settle down on the sofa, wrap a blanket around you and enjoy a warming cup of hot chocolate – whipped cream and marshmallows are a must. As night calls, take your happy, weary limbs to bed where the peace and quiet of the mountains will help you to drift off into an effortless slumber.

As the next day dawns crisp and clear, throw back the covers and head to the kitchen, first stop – the coffee machine. When it’s time to venture out, you’re just 500 metres from the slopes, where a day of memory-making surrounded by glorious mountain views awaits.
