But, as Charente-Maritime is known for sunshine, you'll have plenty of opportunities to splash in the private heated pool and dine alfresco in the sprawling garden. For adventures further afield, Saintes has cafes and weekly markets (10 kilometres away) or drive thirty minutes to visit sandy beaches and Cognac distilleries.
