Located on the idyllic rugged island of Corsica, this duplex apartment is a wonderful choice for a family or friends getaway. It combines contemporary living with seaside charm beautifully, with hues of blue, sandy woods, and accents of rattan exuding a laid-back vibe.

You'll be in awe of this home as soon as you step through the front door. The wide patio doors invite the dazzling natural light to flood, dancing off the pristine surfaces and white walls. You'll naturally feel compelled to step onto the balcony, where you'll be met with a gorgeous view of the Mediterranean sea, backed by majestic mountains. And to make good use of its enviable location, the home boasts another outdoor space on the lower ground floor. We can imagine you'll be spending most of your time in these outdoor spaces – savouring a fresh morning coffee, nursing an afternoon glass of wine, or preparing a barbecue feast for dinner.

Exploring Pietrosella and the rest of Corsica comes easy here. Go for a revitalising morning swim in the nearby cove, just a three-minute walk away, or spend lazy days relaxing on one of the nearby beaches, the closest being just an eight-minute drive away. The island is known for its dramatically beautiful hikes nearly as much as its idyllic beaches – there are so many valleys and trails to explore.

Myrtle & Mint

If you're looking to be close to the sandy beaches and turquoise water coves of Corsica, then this modern apartment is the place for you. Situated close to Ajaccio, in the charming town of Pietrosella, you're surrounded by unspoilt countryside and rolling hills with the shimmering sea always in full view, especially from your private terrace.

Days begin out here, tucking into a French breakfast of tasty pastries and coffee as you pack your seaside essentials for a day down on Agosta Beach, a ten-minute walk from your doorstep. Inside, it's a stylish affair with brown leather furnishings and chic decor. Flop down on the sofa and relax in the afternoons with a good glass of wine, slide open the balcony doors, instantly expanding your communal space.

When it's time to head back out, we recommend a visit to the vast wine estates of Capitoro and Omasca, only twenty minutes away by car. Fill your evenings at the charming port city of Ajaccio, a half-hour drive away, enjoying excellent seafood restaurants and a couple of sundown cocktails along the sparkling harbour.

From Hill to Sea

This villa is just a five-minute walk away from the beach and boasts panoramic sea views from its sun-soaked terrace. A heated pool, shaded garden, and multiple outdoor lounges make it perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Inside, a contemporary kitchen opens onto a bright living and dining area, ideal for meals or drinks with friends. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the bay, letting in light and views from every room. With private terraces, poolside space, and direct access to the Corsican coast, this villa is a sleek, modern base for your island escape.

Corsican Harbor

With direct access to Padulella Beach, this villa guarantees a memorable stay on the island of Elba. Outdoor living is encouraged here, thanks to the summer kitchen complete with a wood oven, infinity pool and a covered terrace overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. There’s a rustic approach to the interiors, which we find charming. Hiring a car is recommended if you fancy exploring the island – let your first stop be Portoferraio, a six-minute drive away.

Sunny Shore

Perched high above the sea in the village of Monticello in Upper Corsica, this elegant villa has everything you need for a quiet, coastal retreat. Inside, earthy tones mix with comfortable furniture that invites you to relax. We love the cosy living room, with leather sofas for you to kick back and watch a movie after a day enjoying all that this stretch of coastline has to offer. There’s no extravagance here, and there’s no attempt to distract from everything the outside space has to offer, which is something that really sets this villa apart.

Step out onto your sun-drenched terrace and you’re met with a sea so blue, it’s hard to tell where the sea ends and the sky begins. Your private pool welcomes you in for a refreshing dip and is somewhere you could easily while away the hours as the sun warms your skin. When dry land calls, settle down on a sun lounger with your holiday read and get lost in a story. In such a peaceful setting, all you’ll hear is the quiet song of the birds in the surrounding trees.

When you’re ready for a change of scenery, there are plenty of boutiques and local markets to peruse, perhaps picking up some delicious local produce to take home and rustle up a dinner to enjoy alfresco under the stars.

Blue Muse

With a glittering sea view, a delightful terrace, and a swimming pool for cooling off, this apartment is a great choice for a sunny getaway. With everything you need for a comfortable stay, couples and small families will love this base for exploring Grosseto-Prugna and the idyllic Corsica island.

The interior has taken on a simple, modern design, with a well-equipped kitchen, bar-style table, and plush sofa. The bright space is open and welcoming. Whether you're sipping coffee around the table and planning the day ahead, or reading your book on the sofa after a day of exploring, relaxing will come easy here.

The home's shining jewel, however, is the spacious terrace. With a lovely view of flower-dotted bushes, luscious trees, the glittering Mediterranean sea, and the curved hills, it's a great space to relax and soak up the sun. And if you fancy cooling off, take the short walk to your pool for a quick dip. Or, pack your beach towel and walk the ten minutes to the sugary white sand beach and crystal clear waters. When you get peckish for some lunch, the town of Porticcio is nearby with its restaurants, bars, and markets.

Crisp Sea Air

Perched on a rocky headland above Biodola Bay, this clifftop villa feels entirely at one with the Tyrrhenian Sea – terraces cascade down toward the water across six levels, and a stairway takes you directly to the sea below. Sunsets from the upper terraces paint the bay in extraordinary light, while the sea-level terrace puts you right at the water's edge, barbecue and all. A Mediterranean garden of around 1,100 sqm wraps the villa in greenery, and the beaches of Biodola, Scaglieri, and Forno are all within walking distance when you want company.

Elba at Your Feet

From the moment you step inside this home, you’ll be drawn out onto the terrace. Secluded and serene, it has the most stunning views across the bay of Ajaccio – a sight we’re sure you’ll never tire of.

Wander back inside, and this home gives a very distinct nod to its surroundings. Pops of teal and blue are peppered throughout this apartment, mirroring the tones of the ocean outside, and with coastal decor adorning the walls and shelves. It’s compact but comfortable with that little touch of class, making it the ideal base for exploring the local area.

Locally, you may want to visit the old town of Ajaccio or perhaps you long to feel the sand between your toes – if so, you’re in luck, as Porticcio beach is just a short four-minute drive away. After a day of adventure, return home, pour yourself a glass of wine, and head onto your terrace where you can snuggle up on the sofa. As the day draws to an end, watch as the sun sets over the Iles Sanguinaires (The Blood Islands) – named for their dark red colour. As the sky turns from its orange glow to black, look up at the blanket of stars above. With just the sound of the ocean and the feel of the breeze tickling your skin, you won’t find a better way to end the day.

Ruby Sunset

Dating back to the times of the Roman Empire, Porto-Vecchio is as picturesque and charming as any town in the Mediterranean. This gorgeous apartment sits in a renovated 19th-century building in the heart of the Old Town and offers stunning views in every direction. Inside, cool off from the midday heat in the air-conditioned living space while enjoying the natural light and views across the town. Our favourite bit is the expansive roof terrace, the ideal place to gather for soaking up the Corsican sunshine. The well-shaded dining area has its own barbecue so you can sit down to eat alfresco at lunchtime. There’s also a relaxing chill-out area, with wicker furniture and beanbags overlooking the Mediterranean sea below. If you can tear yourself away from your home's many little luxuries, you're only a fifteen-minute walk from a sandy beach and the charming marina filled with bobbing yachts, while just outside your door, the Old Town offers up restaurants, bars and plenty of cultural attractions including the impressive Église St-Jean-Baptiste.
