This 18th-century apartment set in the 2nd arrondissement is ticking all our boxes with its Juliet balcony windows and Rocaille-style antiques. Each of the three bedrooms is as expertly styled as the next, although if we were being picky, they feel a little short on floor space. But for such an unbeatable central location, we can forgive that. Call in on Mona Lisa at the Louvre Museum. Take a turn around the gardens of the Palais Royal. Or soak up the splendour of Notre Dame. It’s all within easy walking distance in the Montorgueil district.

Rocaille Retreat

This bright and welcoming apartment can be found opposite Buttes Chaumont Park, offering wonderful views of the vast green space. Best of all, the views from the apartment stretch all the way across Paris – you can even see the Eiffel Tower. There’s a balcony at the front of the home as well as a terrace, but the views can be admired from the open-plan living and dining space too, thanks to the huge windows. There are plenty of bakeries, bars, shops and restaurants nearby, and you can easily explore the rest of Paris using the metro – Buttes Chaumont station is just a few metres away. 

Charming Parkside Haven

A bright, well-laid-out apartment on the fifth floor, with a terrace that offers glimpses of the Eiffel Tower on a clear day – including the evening light show. The living and dining area is relaxed and generous, and each bedroom has its own en-suite walk-in shower. Step outside and the Bois de Vincennes is on your doorstep, with its lakes, gardens, and open space. For Paris proper, the RER A gets you into the centre in around ten minutes – making this a calm base with easy access to the city whenever you want it.

Enjoy the idyllic beauty of the French countryside with a stay at this family home located in the village of Vichel-Nanteuil, halfway between  Château-Thierry and Soissons. With sweeping fields, forests and vineyards all around, you’re in for a truly relaxing time. 

Arrive to find a warm and welcoming exterior, inviting you to step inside and make yourself at home. The open-plan living and dining area has plenty of room to kick back and relax – snuggle up for an evening of movies and French wine or step into the well-equipped kitchen to rustle up a delicious feast using fresh ingredients you’ll be able to pick up at the local farmers market. You can share your suppers at the dining table inside or out in the garden, where there’s also a barbecue oven to make those alfresco gatherings even more fun. 

Later, head up to the comfy bedrooms for a night of restful sleep and wake up feeling reinvigorated. Outside your home, you’ll be surrounded by picturesque nature walks and you can also take a barge ride on the Ourcq river. You may also choose to take a tour of the expansive vineyards and visit the Château-Thierry and the surrounding Champagne country. For a family day out, Disneyland Paris is located under an hour away by car. 

Sweet Grapes 

Sleek and stylish, this apartment in the heart of Le Marais will have you placed in a prime position for exploring the city. Here, you'll find boutiques, bookshops, art galleries and restaurants on your doorstep, with multiple Metro stations nearby for ventures further around Paris. Inside, it's a modern spot for unwinding between sightseeing adventures, with a small kitchen for prepping light meals. While there’s space for eight guests, keep in mind that at full capacity, two people will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living area.

City Charmer

Best suited to young families, this bright apartment offers a fuss-free base in Le Marais. Trendy cafes and restaurants line your doorstep, which will come in handy since there's no oven here. We think the bunk beds offer a cool sleeping option for kids, while grown-ups will sleep on the sofa bed. There may be a curtain to cover the interior glass window, but a casual layout limits privacy. Nevertheless, historic landmarks are a stroll away, and public transport links keep Parisian sightseeing easy.

Marais Melody

Tucked away in a pretty courtyard, this hidden gem is a great base for those wanting to explore Paris with ease. Located in the prestigious Montorgueil district, you're a short walk from many of the city's most popular sights, including the Louvre Museum and Le Centre Pompidou. The bedroom is on the mezzanine, so keep in mind you’ll need to climb some stairs here. However, the space is bright and practical, with plenty of room for your group to sprawl out after a busy day. The kitchen is on the smaller side, but it's ideal for preparing light bites to be enjoyed around the sociable breakfast bar with a glass of French wine. 

The Tour Guide

Located in Le Marais, this apartment puts Paris’ contemporary galleries, boutiques, book shops and trendy bars on your doorstep. Ideal for families and friends seeking a fuss-free city break, there's a large living space for morning coffees and evening drinks after a day of sightseeing. It’s pretty minimal here and not the most practical space to share meals, but there is a handy kitchen for whipping up quick bites. Plus, with little eateries, undercover markets, and independent cafes on your doorstep, you’ll probably want to dine out.

Cosmopolitan Abode

You can never go wrong if you book a whole chateau, which is why Sezanne Pond is such a lovely place to gather all your loved ones. Among the many services provided by the lovely host team, the fact that you can get an English-speaking guide to take you around is one of our favourites, but we can't say that we didn't love the fact that we booked maid service and released even more time in our day to do absolutely nothing. As this home used to be a retirement home back int the day, it has a lift for the luggage, which is another one of the small details that Sezanne Pond does absolutely right. Of course you get the standard luxuries — a large private pool, antique furniture fit for nobility, huge gardens where you can walk and reflect, a salon with a grand piano and a pool table, lots if spots to relax and read, and more. Within a few minutes' drive, rustic towns await, and we hope you take some time to explore this beautifully historic landscape and bring some local wine back to your chateau. 

Sezanne Pond

Located between Compiègne and Soissons, this beautiful home in Largny-sur-Automne is a quiet and unassuming retreat. Surrounded by stunning gardens, if ever there was a home that could be described as having a sunny disposition, this is it. With beautiful floral displays bordering the terrace, you may be reluctant to leave the outdoor space, but, step inside and you won’t be disappointed. The interior of this home is just as welcoming, and will instantly bring a smile to your face.

We love the stylish log burner in the main living area. Picture yourself on a cold winter night, tucked up on the sofa with the warmth radiating out into the room as the flame flickers before you. All you’ll need for complete relaxation is a glass of wine and a spot to put your feet up, and you’ll feel any stress just melt away. 

This home was made for socialising, with open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas giving plenty of space for your group to spill out into every room. When it comes to exploring the local area,  with everything from gardens, to castles, museums and amusement parks all on your doorstep, you’re spoilt for choice of things to do. After a long day out, head home and sink into your Jacuzzi. As the bubbles warm your skin, it’s time to unwind and enjoy quality time with those dearest to you. 

Sunshine & Flowers

This apartment lies in the trendy Le Marais district, just minutes from some of Paris' most famous sights, including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Louvre Museum. Aside from its central locale, the pad also offers a fully-equipped games room and home cinema set-up – ideal for entertaining your group after busy days of sightseeing. Though keep in mind that the bedrooms are only divided by curtains and four guests will be sleeping on double sofa beds, so we do recommend a lower guest count here. 

Urban Haven

Suitable for those visiting on business, couples and solo travellers, this studio apartment is a stress-free place to rest your head after a busy day of work or sightseeing. There’s no comfortable seating, and the kitchen is compact, but the bed guarantees a peaceful sleep, and you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to dining options on your doorstep. The nearby Arts et Métiers metro station allows you to explore wider Paris, or if you’d prefer to stay local, the Centre Pompidou and Louvre Museum are within walking distance.
