This villa nestled in the heart of a picturesque Provencal landscape offers a comfy retreat for a family or a group of friends. Just a short drive from the village of Lacoste, you’ll enjoy peace and tranquillity here, while at the same time being close to all the amenities. We love the outdoor areas, with a heated pool and those calming vistas to be admired from the terrace and the large garden. There’s also a pétanque field here, making this a classic French country escape. Inside, expect a melange of period features and modern elegance – although not the largest home in our collection, you’d be hard-pressed to find one with more charm.

Surrounded by lush greenery, this Provençal farmhouse will delight sun worshippers and wine lovers alike. The outdoor pool is the real centrepiece, but the garden boasts plenty of other spots for kicking back with a glass of rosé, including a shaded patio with an outdoor kitchen for a spot of alfresco cooking. The interior isn’t quite as striking with some rooms feeling a little dated. But the space has, nonetheless, retained plenty of traditional charm with its exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings, making it a nice backdrop for cosy evenings in. And location-wise, you’re just a short drive from some of Provence’s most beautiful villages, so you won’t have to venture far to get a taste of local culture – and viticulture.

This beautiful village house is the perfect place to enjoy a holiday in the Luberon region of Provence. The property is located on a hillside on the edge of Gordes, one of France's classified 'Plus Beaux Villages'. The Provençal valley views from the terraced grounds are incredible.

The house has been decorated with refined style and there's an authentic ambience across its elegant lounge, dining room and perfectly equipped kitchen with doors sliding open to the al-fresco dining terrace. Modern additions include air-conditioning throughout, a Sonos music system and Smart TVs in its mezzanine lounge and two of the three bedrooms.

Sleeping up to six guests, the bedrooms are gorgeous, one with a king-size double bed, wood-beamed ceiling and romantic rolltop bath, another with a queen-size double, sofa and en suite shower room and the third en suite with twin beds and lovely views through its little windows. 

Outside, the vistas of Provence will take your breath away whether you are enjoying a glass of Luberon AOC wine on the upper terrace or peacefully reading on the outdoor sofa beneath the poolside pergola. The swimming pool is superb for warm summer days when you don't wish to venture too far. We love the rustic charm of the terraced grounds with old stone steps, pretty pathways and swathes of summer colour.

Inside, the open-plan living area is super sunny, thanks to sliding glass doors that lead out onto the terrace. It’s all about the modernity inside and although the staircase is a slick design feature, the open steps aren't suitable for young children.

Situated in the lower part of the village, this former farmhouse is steeped in Provençal charm. From a pétanque playing area to breath-taking views over the Luberon, it has everything you need for a quintessential French escape, including easy access to the village’s historic centre and the Château de Lacoste. Despite being recently renovated, the interior feels dated in parts, but it’s still nice and cosy, with plenty of room to unwind as a group. And if you need some peace and quiet, the garden is full of hidden corners for kicking back and relaxing with a cheeky glass of wine.

Outside on the lush lawn, a private pool, barbecue and alfresco dining area make for ideal holiday afternoons spent socialising with family and friends.  Inside, dove-grey sofas and cream walls create a soothing ambience. You could spend hours lounging on a deck chair here, surrounded by the tranquillity of olive groves and vineyards – though, with Provence’s verdant landscapes at your doorstep, we’d understand if you didn’t spend much time at home. Go hiking in the surrounding countryside, or if you’re feeling adventurous venture further to horseback ride in Roussillon, or windsurf in Apt.

Everything about this home is quintessentially Provençal – from the rustic stone walls, plum-hued shutters and wooden beams, to the solid wood furniture, muted textiles and hand-carved features inside. There’s an air of effortless relaxation, with a touch of artistic flair, throughout. Bright red walls, bottle-green tiles and vintage Boussiet prints in the kitchen will turn cooking into a vibrant adventure rather than a chore – prepare a baguette with lashings of butter and dollops of jam, head outside and devour it on the shaded and plant-surrounded patio. Then stretch out in the garden and soak up every last drop of the same sunlight that inspired Cézanne and Van Gogh, before cooling off in the pool (that’s at least sixteen shades of blue). When you’re ready to expend some energy, head out of your front door and into Luberon National Park where ancient cedars and ochre cliffs come straight from the pages of an Impressionist’s sketchbook.
