The best spot to appreciate this is from the living room that benefits from three curved Georgian windows, but Brighton Pier can also be spotted from two of the bedrooms, too. Step through the main room's glass door and onto a private, south-facing balcony - ideal for sipping on a sundowner cocktail and looking out to sea before an evening out on the town. With two extremely comfortable bedrooms - each boasting a king-size bed - and a bathroom with a large tub, this is a perfect base for a relaxing stay in Southern England’s most vibrant seaside city. The famous Brighton pebble beach is a short two-minute stroll away and the independent shops on North Laine are walkable in less than ten minutes.

The Centurion

This ultra-luxurious family home sits in the seaside city of Hove, a ten-minute stroll from the beach. Following the promenade, you’ll be at Brighton’s i360 lookout in twenty minutes on foot. Or, drive to the centre of Brighton in five minutes.

The home itself is in the style of a Victorian villa, with symmetrical bay windows flooding the place with light inside. There’s a bench up on the balcony, overlooking the garden for a quiet moment. The garden itself faces south, so there’s plenty of sunlight in the evening. Perfect if you’re planning to take dinner on the terrace, or sit on the swing seat with something bubbly.

Stepping into the living room is like crossing the threshold into a 19th-century drawing room with its grand piano, sparkling chandelier and carriage clock above the mantle. A wood-burning stove can crackle away in the evening for a bit of atmosphere and floor-to-ceiling bay windows let the sunshine stream in. Double doors lead to the kitchen, where there’s dining for the whole group and an additional seating area around a big TV. Upstairs, bedrooms are super plush and spacious. 

The Cat's Pyjamas

This bright and cheery home is in the perfect location for a Brighton getaway. The apartment is within walking distance of the train station and all of Brighton’s hot spots, and the home is comfortable, modern and stylish with an open-plan living space flooded with light. 

The start of iconic North Laine is just a five-minute stroll from the apartment, but first call into one of the many vibrant cafes in the neighbourhood for breakfast. The apartment is within easy reach of countless bars and restaurants, so you never have to cook if you don’t want to, though the lovely kitchen is as charming as the rest of the home. 

If like us, you don’t think a holiday begins until you’ve felt sand between your toes, you’re in luck – the nearest beach is just a fifteen-minute walk away. When you’re all paddled out, pick up a fish and chip lunch and make your way over to the Pier for an afternoon of fun. For a slightly more sedate pace, a visit to the Royal Pavilion is a fascinating way to while away a few hours. Children – and big kids – can let off steam in Preston Park, admiring the gardens. 

Spend your evenings taking in the lively bar scene, or visit one of the oldest cinemas in Britain – the Duke of York is just six minutes away. This apartment is at the heart of Brighton’s activity but feels like a real home from home. What more could you ask for?


At The End Of The Laine

Sitting on the edge of North Laine’s, this quirky home pays homage to the artistic eccentricity of the area in a really beautiful and understated way. Look at the graffiti mural in the open living space as one example – countered by the sleek kitchen, gold touches, and dark colour palette the space feels cleverly composed and the statement wall makes for a pretty nice photo backdrop, too. The bathroom is another example of where you can see the practised restraint with which this entire home has been put together to feel fun, but never to overwhelm the senses. 

Explore the area by heading towards the beach and stopping off at any of the coffee bars that catch your eye. Spend the day eating ice cream, dipping your toe in at low tide, playing the arcade games on the pier, and enjoying drinks at any one of the pubs or bars – don't forget to stop off at the Royal Pavilion on the walk back. After a soak in the clawfoot bath, tuck yourself in early with a good book – opening the skylight to infuse the space with some of the Brighton sea air.
