Head to the village pub for a delicious meal, or hop into the car for trips further afield. With Sezincote House and Gardens, Cotswold Farm Park, Stow-on-the-Wold and Broadway all within easy reach, you’re spoilt for choice when looking for something to occupy your time. 

Cotswold Classic

Brimming with character, this honey-hued stone cottage is the definition of a Cotswolds charmer. Inside, a cosy fireplace sets the scene for a relaxing stay. We love the mix of traditional features alongside the more contemporary touches – the kitchen is particularly modern and has all the essentials you’ll need. Step outside and you’ll find a small but sunny garden, perfect for morning coffees and evening cocktails. Location-wise, Chipping Campden is 1.5 miles away and offers a range of independent shops, village pubs, and pretty walks through the surrounding countryside.

Primrose & Honey

This cosy home is the perfect rest point for a romantic getaway to the riverside town of Marlow. Snuggle up together on the sofa to watch a movie on the TV as the smell of a delicious homecooked meal wafts throughout the house. Enjoy your tasty plate of food at the dining table with a documentary on the screen as you socialise with your loved one, planning a fun itinerary of what you'll be up to in the town. If you're fancying a relaxing day in, get under the duvet to read a new book you picked up recently as you sip on a toasty cup of coffee. If weather permits, head out to the bench outdoors to dine alfresco with a hearty meal, washed down with a sumptuous glass of red – or sparkling bubbly.

Wander the streets of Marlow to see what you can find – there's a gorgeous Vietnamese restaurant nearby as well as a great selection of rustic pubs to unwind in as you enjoy a pint or two. A short drive takes you to the verdant Higginson Park where you get a fantastic view of the river and is a lovely spot for a picnic. 

River Rest

Grand but grounded, this country retreat blends period charm with laid-back luxury. Tucked in the sleepy village of Puttenham, this home is made for gatherings, with eight bedrooms, landscaped gardens, and space to spread out across every corner. Start mornings with coffee in the sun-dappled kitchen, lose hours in the garden with its private hot tub and pond views, then gather around the AGA for slow suppers and catch-ups. Whether you're celebrating something special or just seeking stillness, this is a house that makes room for it all.

Orchard Hollow

This home is just as charming as the idyllic town in which it sits. The interior eschews minimalism for full-on floral patterns, characterful pieces of botanical artwork and vintage-inspired furnishings — can you honestly say you weren't happy to see that four-poster bed?

While the kitchen may be on the smaller side and lacks a hob, oven or cooking facilities, fortunately, there are plenty of restaurants in Woodstock, from a brasserie to less formal pubs. In addition, Blenheim Palace and its surrounding parkland can be entered in three mintues' walk from your front door. Further afield, the walking routes and viewpoints of the Cotswolds AONB can be reached easily in the car.

Masterpiece

There's something to satisfy everyone's wanderlust at this charming period cottage nestled right in the beating heart of Chipping Campden. This is your gateway to the best of the Cotswolds – Market Hall, The Spa at Cotswold House and Chipping Campden's bustling high street are all within walking distance. And when it's time to explore further afield, jump in the car and you can be in the chocolate-box villages of Bourton-on-the Water and Stow-on-the-Wold in fifteen minutes flat. 

Back at this cosy home away from home, exposed Cotswold stone walls, higgledy-piggledy beams and a crackling wood-burning stove bring all the charm. While we liked the comfortable bedrooms and sparkling bathrooms, what really blew us away was the impressive kitchen and dining area. It's the true hub of the home, with plenty of room to cook and dine together. We can easily imagine mornings here, the French doors open wide as you sip coffee on the patio and tuck into a lazy breakfast around the dining table. We also loved the techy extras, like nest heating, electronic locks and Google Home Bluetooth speakers. With the occasional bleat from the neighbouring sheep your only distraction, it doesn't get much more charming than this.

A true recipient of the Plum Award, this home has also received the Green Tourism Silver Award, in recognition of this host's dedication to green initiatives such as energy and water efficiency and mindful waste reduction. Your host can share recommendations on local farmers markets and shops selling locally-sourced food, as well as eco-friendly activities such as cycling routes and nature trails to help you enjoy your stay in Chipping Campden, all the while reducing your carbon footprint. It's a win-win.

The Cotswold Way

Tucked away in the quiet Cotswold village of Nether Westcote, this 18th-century barn is a delightful escape just for two. The place is packed with original features, including timber beams and stone walls, creating a rustic yet homely feel throughout. We loved how the cosy seating area with log-burning stove opens up into a bright dining space – the perfect spot for cream tea on summer afternoons. When it’s particularly warm out, sit at the bistro set in the garden with a glass of your favourite tipple and a paperback pulled from the bookcase. 

Take a nine-minute drive to Stow-on-the-Wold for its popular Farmer’s Market or stretch your legs with a ramble to Bourton-on-the-Water – it’ll take you an hour-and-a-half by foot. But if you’d prefer to stay put, your host can arrange fantastic at-home experiences including cider tasting and cooking classes.

Farmhouse Retreat

Set on the outskirts of picturesque Quenington, this 18th-century cottage is a calm haven for those looking to explore the Cotswolds at a relaxed pace. It's bright and rustic, the kind of homely interior you'd expect from a historic home, but it doesn't feel outdated. In fact, they lean into modernity here – you'll find fast wi-fi, a smart tv, and an electric vehicle charging here. The vibrant greenery covering the home echoes the surrounding landscape, which you can explore more closely on walking and hiking trails. Two pubs are within walking distance, and the River Coln and knights gate aren't much further.  

The Chimney Sweeper

Nestled in the heart of Chipping Norton, this stunning home offers an unforgettable luxury experience in the English countryside. Your stay in the charming Cotswolds will be elevated with the cinema room, hidden bar, fully equipped gym, and massage room, providing plenty of entertainment and relaxation options. Step outside to enjoy the fresh country air, take a dip in the heated swimming pool, sip drinks at the outdoor bar, or unwind in the sauna. Nearby, discover local pubs, restaurants, and breweries, making this the perfect base to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds.

Oxfordshire's Finest

This characterful townhouse can be found in the heart of Oxford's Golden Triangle. Outside, it’s just a short stroll to independent shops, bars and cafes on Cowley Road. You can walk into the historic city centre in just twenty-minutes and there are great public transport links – making it easy to explore further afield. Parking is available and there’s a sweet little garden for warm weather drinks. Plus, the rooms are perfect for families and groups in search of simplicity and ease. You’ll also find all of the bedrooms come with desks – making this a great option for remote workers. 

I'll Keep You

There's something undeniably idyllic about this cottage's location. Sitting alone within acres of Bedfordshire countryside, the River Great Ouse runs alongside the property. You can sit and listen to the peaceful sounds or spot the wildlife that calls the stretch of water home from the outdoor deck, which even has a jetty. If you want to add a touch of decadence, it's also possible to hire a private hot tub and enjoy the scenery surrounded by bubbles.

Heading inside the front door, you'll see that there's a distinctly rustic feel to the interior, particularly the brick flooring and inglenook fireplace holding a log burner. However, you'll also be happy to hear that the home was fully refurbished in 2021, which you can certainly see in the modern blue kitchen and cosy white bedrooms.

When the weather's on your side, there are plenty of walks to embark upon within Turvey Estate and the village itself — along with its pair of pubs, a butchers shop and a park — can be reached in just over a quarter of an hour on foot.



The Water of Life

Tucked down a quiet lane in the charming town of Charlbury, this honey-coloured bolthole is the perfect size for two. Comfort is at the forefront here, there’s a wood-burning stove that keeps both the lounge and kitchen-diner toasty, underfloor heating to warm toes after long rambles through the countryside and a super king size bed to fall into when you’re all worn out. Outside, a courtyard festooned with wildflowers is the perfect spot for lunches of Double Gloucester cheese and hunks of sourdough bread, picked up from the Farmers’ Market held every second Saturday. Pull on your walking boots and follow the Finstock and Evenlode Walk, a picturesque five-mile loop that starts in the centre of town and passes the Cornbury Park Estate. And when all of that rambling becomes thirsty work, the Bull Inn pub is less than five minutes from your doorstep – stick around for the Sunday roast and chocolate fondant tart.
