From the comfy living area and snug room, both featuring crackling fireplaces that'll keep your toes warm after a scenic country walk, to the conservatory and garden – you'll find plenty of space to kick back, relax and enjoy doing absolutely nothing here. The outside area provides the perfect setting for those visiting during the warmer months. Out here, you'll find casual lounge seating, an alfresco dining area and an indulgent hot tub – from which you can watch the stars all year round. 

Located within walking distance from a pub and village shop, Cheltenham is also just a short drive away when you seek a more built-up town centre. A fabulous base for exploring the North Cotswolds, this spot in Gotherington offers a wonderful country escape to families or large groups of friends looking to get away from the stresses of the daily grind. 

Thatch House

Once a coach house to the manor next door, this Grade II listed retreat is now a peaceful place to pause. Tucked among the trees and hidden from view, it offers a quiet escape with just the faintest glimpse of the valley beyond. Inside, the open-plan layout is calm and inviting, with soft tones, rustic textures and a round window that draws your eye outside. Spend mornings walking the Laurie Lee trail, afternoons exploring Stroud’s market stalls, and evenings in the bath or by the window seat, watching the light change. 

The Coachman's Loft

The honey-coloured stone buildings, wisteria-adorned doorways and misty green hills of pretty Painswick couldn't get more Hollywood movie set if it tried. In fact, this town is so disarmingly attractive that it's known as the Queen of the Cotswolds. Well, adjust your crown because we've got a very princely stay right here for you. This 16th-century cottage is in the heart of the town, opposite the legendary 99 Yew Trees Church with its magnificent yew trees – can you take a wild guess how many?

Once inside you'll feel like a modern-day Henry VII thanks to exposed stonework, regal purple sofas, aged wooden beams and hefty wooden beds. In the second living room you'll find an honesty bar where your host has thoughtfully provided a selection of spirits – all donations made by you for the drinks you make are given to Emmaus, a local homelessness charity.

Outside you'll find the very private, very sunny courtyard garden is a delight, with lush, mature trees and immaculately manicured shrubs creating that Hampton Court Palace garden feel - albeit on a much smaller scale. It's a right royal escape.

The 99 Yew Trees

After many years unoccupied, this former barn was treated to a complete revamp in the late 2010s. Today, a remarkable home awaits guests visiting rural Oxfordshire. Huge glass walls and stark white walls mean that the space feels immediately bright and inviting, while there's a superb mix of modern touches and more homely furnishings — bold pieces of artwork and the sleek grey kitchen sit quite happily alongside deep red rugs and picnic baskets repurposed as coffee tables.

Out through the glass doors, there's a charming walled garden complete with a lawn, patio and neat plant beds. Bat boxes and an owl loft have also been incorporated into the property to help the local wildlife. If you fancy a little more nature-spotting, there are plenty of walking routes throughout the surrounding Blenheim Estate. The city of Oxford takes around twenty-five minutes to reach in the car, too.

Morse Code

Situated within the grounds of a grand Cotswolds manor house, this converted stable block offers a luxurious retreat. With designer furniture, original beams, and uninterrupted countryside views, it's the perfect escape. Another highlight is the small garden which is the ideal spot for a glass of wine. A short drive away, you’ll find the market town of Northleach, once the centre of the Cotswold wool trade. Other places of interest include Bourton-on-the-Water, Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold, all under 10 miles away.

The Wool Merchant

You’ll find this charming cottage in Lower Slaughter, providing an ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Inside, the home is packed full of old school charm, but it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Vast lawns give way to pretty flowerbeds, and there are cosy seating areas to dine or simply kick back with a good book. Locally, there are plenty of walks to enjoy through Lower Slaughter that run along the River Eye, along with a village pub serving delicious meals. Within easy reach, you’ll also find Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford – all much deserving of a visit. 

The Cotswold Idyll

Set in the sleepy village of Poulton, yet just a few minutes' drive from historic Cirencester, picture-perfect Bibury, and Cotswold Water Park, this Grade II-listed cottage offers the best of both worlds. Dating back to the 17th century, exposed beams, original stone flooring, and a wood burner bring all the cottage charm, and the sociable kitchen diner overlooking the garden is a nice touch. Rather keep things easy? The village pub is just an amble away for upper-crust grub. Or fire up the barbecue in the enclosed, private garden – set back from the street, it's blissfully quiet.

Poulton's Hidden Gem

When you think of the Cotswolds, chances are you picture chocolate-box villages, cobbled lanes and that famous honey-coloured stone. Stow-on-the-Wold promises all that and more. It's home to chic restaurants, traditional inns, cosy pubs and plenty of independent shops ripe for browsing. With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly. 

Host Susy goes above and beyond, providing everything you'll need, be it a complete dinner set and kitchen loaded with appliances and crockery to the luxury toiletries in the bathrooms. She can even arrange restaurant reservations and has a whole slew of recommendations, so you'll be in excellent hands.

The Robins & The Roses

Set within the peaceful Lower Mill Estate, this modern two-bedroom apartment offers lakeside living at its finest. Wake to stunning views from your private west-facing balcony, then explore miles of walking trails through nature reserves or treat yourself to a pamper session in the estate’s award-winning spa. You can dive into one of the heated pools, try your hand at tennis, or hire a kayak for a tranquil paddle across the lake. Thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation, this home is the perfect base to disconnect, recharge and embrace the best of the Cotswolds countryside and waterside lifestyle.

Swillbrook Lake

Situated on a historic private estate in the heart of Gloucestershire, this dreamy cottage is the perfect setting for your next family getaway to the Cotswolds.

Warm up with a cup of tea on the sofa or head upstairs to the family bathroom for a relaxing bubble bath before drifting off to sleep in one of the cottage's quiet bedrooms.

The next morning, start your day with a breakfast of locally produced organic goodies from the local farm shop or – if the weather’s on your side – head out to the garden and soak up some sun. This is the perfect place for little ones and four-legged friends to roam but there’s plenty to explore in the local area if you fancy a change of scenery. Breathe in the sweet scent of lime blossom as you travel down the 800-metre private road leading out of the estate – with Westonbirt Arboretum, Berkeley Castle, and The Cotswold Water Park all within striking distance, you've got plenty of destinations to choose from so why not ditch the GPS and see where the day takes you?

Sugar & Lime

Experience a slower pace and enjoy the best of the Cotswolds from this family home. Tucked in the heart of Painswick, it’s just a short stroll to local pubs as well as the renowned Rococo Gardens. The nearest amenities are just a short drive away in Stroud and you’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to hiking trails. And when it comes to rest and relaxation, this home has everything you could need. There’s a sweet garden with impressive views across the valley. Inside, there’s a cosy sitting room with a fire for laidback evenings. Plus, your host can help organise special extras like private chefs and massage treatments. 


Valley Meadow

Just outside the bustling centre of Charlbury, you’ll find this cosy cottage. Stepping inside, there’s an abundance of character, tradition and all the home comforts you could need for a relaxing stay.
