Heading back through the barn doors reveals a spacious open plan living space with characterful beams and plenty of roof lights flood this charming space with light. Choose a book from the cute nook and relax on the comfy sofa. This place is the perfect Cumbrian retreat for a family or friends.

The village of Grasmere is just over one mile away, where you’ll find Dove Cottage, the National Trust's Allan Bank and other attractions to enjoy. Practical amenities in Grasmere include a local shop, pharmacy, post office and a choice of eateries and pubs

In a part of the UK with such stunning scenery, it really pays to have a home with some outdoor space here. Luckily, from this apartment's balcony, you get beautiful views of Lake Windermere and the hills surrounding the waters.

If it's ever too cold to use this space, you can head back inside and sit by the bay window, from which you get a similarly swoon-worthy panorama. Once you can tear your eyes away, you'll probably notice that the interior looks pretty modern — that's because it underwent a complete refurbishment in late 2021. The large kitchen and its collection of top-of-the-range appliances are particularly impressive, as are the pristine bathrooms.

When you're in the mood to see what the Lake District has to offer, you're in an excellent position to do so. Stock Ghyll Force waterfall is half an hour's walk away, while Rydal Cave can be reached in under ten minutes' drive. And after a fun-filled day outdoors, we recommend a short stroll into Grasmere, where restaurants, bars and tea rooms await.

Embrace the countryside charm of Ambleside from this traditional cottage. You’ll find plenty of restaurants, pubs, and shops within easy walking distance – perfect for families with young children. The little ones will also love the two parks with play areas that are just a few yards away. There’s even a path outside the rear gate leading straight to one of them. While this is convenient, bear in mind that this is a communal path and there’ll be people walking past the back gate throughout the day.
