Climb the narrow stairs and you'll uncover a relaxing bedroom with a restful bed sitting beneath an elegant canopy, with a sleek bathroom just a step across the hallway.

Step outside and you'll find yourself within a short stroll of three village pubs, a cute cafe/general store and the local Post Office. For adventures further afield, you're just five miles from the pretty town of Matlock and the grand Haddon Hall estate, while the bustling town of Bakewell is just a few miles further.

Courtyard Keeper

Quintessential English living meets countryside tranquility in this beautiful stone cottage. Nestled in the quiet village of Foolow in Derbyshire, you'll feel at one with nature from being surrounded by miles of green fields. Whether you want to go out and wander around them, play games with the family, or just stay at home admiring the scenery from afar, you're sure to enjoy the surroundings either way. The garden of this home is particularly special. The outside seating area is tailor-made for enjoying an evening tipple. Why not sample the local Lindway Brook champagne and toast to making wonderful memories? When the light starts to fade, head inside and put your feet up in the lounge while the wood burner glows away.

Being situated in the Peak District, this cottage is in an ideal location to make the most of one of the UK's most beautiful regions. Get the boots on and hike one of the many trails here, or jump on two wheels and cycle to a nearby destination. We recommend the seventy-minute cycle to Buxton – a lovely town dating back to the Roman times that's known for its natural thermal springs. Soak your tired muscles before heading back to the cottage for the evening.

Green Fields

This semi-detached cottage is nestled in the beautiful grounds of the Chatsworth Estate. Accessed by a single-track road (not suitable for low cars), you’ll be welcomed by cosy rooms and a wonderful sense of seclusion. There is also a wood-burning stove, a private rear garden and flexible sleeping arrangements – the zip-and-link bed can be arranged as a double or two single beds on request. Guests can enjoy multi-entrance tickets to the House and Gardens, as well as access to the estate gym, tennis court and swimming pool for an additional fee. 

Beyond the Garden

A cosy getaway for two, this charming cottage is packed with character and has idyllic views of the Peak District to match. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking – imagine lush green fields, grazing cattle and tree-dotted hills, all spread out before you – and the best place to admire the rolling countryside is the garden. Sharing a bottle of wine as the sun goes down will become your evening ritual – with views like that, it'll be hard to tear yourself away. There's also an excellent outlook from the bedroom, which you'll wake up to daily.

Make yourself comfortable on the squishy sofa following a long day wandering the Peaks and snuggle up for a movie night – you can sign in to your Netflix, Prime and Disney+ accounts, so there are plenty of films to choose from. When you grow peckish, the kitchen is well-stocked and well-suited to rustling up delicious meals, but if you don't fancy cooking, Foolow's village pub is only a twelve-minute stroll away and serves excellent food and refreshing local ales.

And speaking of exploring, there's a network of public footpaths on your doorstep – simply lace up your walking shoes, head out the front door and the Peak District is yours to ramble and roam. Also close by is Bakewell, home to an array of shops, restaurants and a weekly Monday market – it’s just fifteen minutes by car.

Summer Dusk, Autumn Dawn

If you're looking for a break in beautiful Derbyshire, this Grade II Listed 17th-century cottage in the market town of Bakewell hits the spot. It's been lovingly converted by your hosts into a stylish home for a family or two couples. 

When it's warm and sunny, relax in the pretty garden or unwind inside surrounded by character features such as the massive inglenook fireplace with a log burner and sash windows. We can imagine lots of convivial meals in the elegant dining room, for sure.

Staying on the topic of food, this cottage is centrally located in this gem of the Peak District. The town is famous for its Bakewell pudding, but that's not all there is to attract foodies – there's an array of award-winning restaurants and pubs too. Add to that a fantastic Monday market, as well as a good selection of shops and a great golf course, and you have the recipe for plenty of fun times. For walkers, Bakewell Station (The Monsal Trail) is a five-minute walk away, and it's been a popular trail since the Midland Railway line was closed in 1968. Other attractions include Dovedale, one of the most stunning valleys in England, as well as the caves at Castleton, the spa town of Buxton and Chatsworth House.



Sundew Cottage

This charming apartment is tucked away in the heart of the Peak District. It’s the perfect base for a couple looking to spend a few romantic days away in the countryside. Beautiful Bakewell is a fourteen-minute drive, and Chatsworth House, with its rich history and stunning gardens, is eighteen minutes away. 

This is a home with comfort at its heart. After days spent touring historic houses and meandering around scenic villages, it’s a delight to return to. You might spend the morning hiking in the countryside surrounding the farm, and then head back here to curl up with a good book. The courtyard garden is a lovely spot for an alfresco lunch, and boasts gorgeous views. 

In the evening, stroll thirteen minutes to the local pub for a pint by the roaring fire. You can dine there or back at the apartment, enjoying the cosy open-plan living and dining space. Later on, sink into the oh-so-comfortable bed – you’re guaranteed a peaceful night’s sleep here. 


Peaky Blinder

Nestled in the charming town of Matlock, this 200-year-old stone cottage is quite the find. Inside, you'll find all you need to decompress after a day in the Derbyshire Dales – a cosy lounge, practical kitchen, and two comfortable bedrooms (though the second is certainly on the snug side). Exploring the local area is a breeze. Venture on foot into Matlock for quirky shops and eateries, ride the cable car to the Heights of Abraham for sensational views, or get outdoorsy with a ramble through the nearby Peak District. We think there's something for everyone here. 

Matlock Charm

This quirky flat in Sheffield has urban cool written all over it. Lush greens, bold oranges, leafy plants and bamboo accents give the place a natural, bohemian flair. We think it's as cosy as it is stylish, making it an excellent base to come home to after a busy day. The private balcony is the icing on the cake – it's the perfect spot to sip morning coffees and evening cocktails as the sun goes down. Everything you need for a relaxed stay is taken care of – there are two stylish bathrooms so nobody needs to wait in line, Netflix on the smart TV if you want to chill at home and a desk if you need to do a bit of work. Cooking is anything but a chore in the sleek kitchen, which has plenty of dinnerware for when you're in the mood to rustle up a meal. Java junkies will also be pleased to see both a Nespresso machine and a cafetiere. Best of all, the location is pretty much perfect. Set in vibrant Kelham Island, there's a wealth of independent eateries, bars, music venues and pubs within walking distance. Plus, the city centre is just a twenty-minute stroll away – trust us, you'll never be short on things to do here.

Are You Mine

Although you’re surrounded by the fields and fells of Derbyshire’s peaceful countryside here, this family-sized home is just a fifteen-minute drive from the centre of Derby. You’ve got cycleways and walking trails on your doorstep, and museums of industry, galleries and a beautiful gothic cathedral to explore in nearby Derby.

On arrival, this place rises up like a striking, red-brick barn. The lawns are vast – perfect for kids that want to run around and let off steam. The back garden is home to a private hot tub for post-walk soaks and outdoor dining on the patio overlooking the bucolic Derbyshire scenery. 

Inside, the design embraces the country aesthetic with a wood-burning stove in the brick fireplace in the living room, arrow-slit windows showing how thick the stone walls are, and old wooden lintels on display in the sloped bedrooms. The kitchen is modern farmhouse-style with an island providing plenty of room to prep for big family meals, and the dining room is a delightful place to gather on plush velvet chairs. An added bonus is the deep soaking tub in the man bathroom – the ideal tonic for a day walking in the country.  

Sage the Owl

Nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, we think this carefully renovated traditional country cottage makes an ideal setting for a peaceful rural retreat with friends or family.

Enjoy the slower pace of things here, taking the time to prepare a homecooked meal in the well-equipped kitchen, or simply spending time together in the garden where the barbecue calls out to you on summer evenings. Then of course there's that games room, which is sure to keep everyone entertained. Challenge someone in your party to a game of ping pong, pool, or foosball, and watch sparks fly as everyone's inner competitive streak emerges! 

Or, for something a little more sedate, curl up in the cosy living room, with a cup of tea (or glass of wine) in hand and put an old family favourite on the TV. Or, break out the board games to while away a perfect evening at your home away from home.

When it comes to exploring, you won't be short of things to see and do here. Bakewell is widely considered a gem of the Peak District, thanks to its Anglo-Saxon roots and plethora of award-winning restaurants and pubs. Home to the iconic Bakewell pudding, it's safe to say that foodies will be in their element here. You've also got the Derbyshire countryside on your doorstep, meaning you can enjoy the fresh air and fine walks with the dog every day.
