There's also a quaint gravel garden – it's not the biggest, but it works well for sundowners on summer evenings.

While we’re on the topic of the high street, it’s only fitting that your apartment is housed in a former shop. The cute exterior still has the large bay windows where stock would have once been displayed, but nowadays it’s a space for relaxation rather than retail. 

We love the way the front door opens right into the living space, making you feel welcome right away. A colourful Persian rug and a squishy leather sofa, laden with pillows, both set the tone for a comfortable break. Pour yourself a glass of pinot noir and take a seat by the windows – you’ve got fantastic views of St Michael’s Church across the road.
