If you’re looking to experience the magic of the English countryside, this 17th-century thatched cottage delivers the perfect solution. Nestled in the little town of Winfrith, it’s just a five-minute drive to the Jurassic Coast and some of the most beautiful spots in Dorset. There’s also a village shop and a pub within walking distance and you’ll find private parking alongside the cottage. Inside, the rooms are cosy, classic and full of charm. There’s a fireplace in the living room along with board games for relaxing evenings at home. You’ll also have access to a little garden with a barbecue for warm weather days. 

Rose of the Heart

Stood within the grounds of a working lighthouse, the setting of this traditional cottage is postcard-perfect. While the fog signal is long gone, the beam of this lighthouse still shines bright at night – an impressive sight to see while stargazing from the shared gardens. It’s worth noting that with nothing but the deep blue sea and a country park for miles around, you’ll need a car here. Though if you fancy a change of scene, the seaside town of Swanage is just a three-mile drive away.

Three living spaces mean there’s plenty of space for a large group – whether you’re travelling with friends or family, this is a splendid choice of base in an unbeatable setting. 

The Wildwood Retreat

This home is just a five-minute stroll from Bournemouth's town centre and ten from the beach and pier – now that's convenient. With such a wonderful location, we don't blame you for spending your days exploring. But for those seeking a bit of R&R, this house is the ideal choice. As soon as you walk through the door, you'll notice the relaxed ambience and seaside-inspired design. It's spread across three floors, so there's space for everyone. The kitchen is well-appointed for family dinners, while a small garden out back has sundowners and barbecues covered. Topping it all off, your host can arrange a hot tub for an additional fee – the perfect ending to a day on the coast.

Shell Sanctuary

Set in a prime location in the conservation area of Branksome Park in Dorset, this large home offers a perfectly peaceful holiday experience, surrounded by an acre of tree-lined gardens to ensure complete privacy. What’s more, the garden is fully enclosed, making it safe and secure for children and dogs. 

Take your morning cup of coffee at the breakfast bar as a breeze of fresh air sweeps into the home before you step through the bi-fold doors to the courtyard and the gardens outside. On hot summer days, why not cool off in the waters of your private pool and then dry off beside the warmth of the firepit. Or read a good book in the shade and comfort of the summer room. 

If beach days are what you’re looking for, then you’re in luck as the seaside can be reached within twenty-five minutes by foot. While sports facilities such as tennis and golf are on your doorstep too – a seven-minute walk and a four-minute drive away, respectively. 

In the evenings, cook your meals using the outside kitchen and barbecue area, and then dine alfresco to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding gardens and listen out for the last of the cheerful birdsong as the sun sets. 

Slate & Cotton

Set on the site of a medieval chapel, this townhouse once belonged to a prosperous cloth merchant – but today it's a comfortable base to explore the cobbled streets and bohemian charms of Frome. You'll find yourself in the heart of the town's vibrant artisan quarter, St. Catherine's, with bars, eateries and galleries all just a short walk away. Inside, the home is filled with stylish touches, from the colourful furnishings to the handcrafted organic mattresses in each bedroom. The courtyard is perfect for sunny afternoons, plus extra bedding is available for a fee if you'd like to use the sofa bed.

Frome Townhouse

This cosy cabin is the perfect little bolthole for couples wanting to escape to the country. The location right at the heart of the New Forest means you’ll feel miles away from the stresses of daily life – as you fly down country lanes on your bike, you’ll feel your worries melting away. 

The cabin is just outside of Brockenhurst, in an area that feels secluded but isn’t too far from the nearest shops. You can stroll to the pub in fifteen minutes, which is a welcome sight after a day spent hiking the trails. A four-minute drive will get you to beautiful Beaulieu, which is well worth an afternoon strolling around after lunch in a cafe. The abbey is just six minutes from the cabin – the tranquil ruins are always popular with history buffs. 

If you need an ice cream on the beach for it to feel like a holiday, you’re in luck. Fifteen minutes by car will have you on a sandy shore, though we can’t guarantee it’ll be paddling weather. 

For us, the real joy of this cabin is its countryside setting. Walking just five minutes from the front door will see you on walking and cycling trails. When your feet start to feel sore, head back to the cabin to soak in the luxurious claw-foot tub before spending the evening in front of the fire. Absolute bliss. 


In The Potting Shed

Where do we start with this home – both the apartment and the location are excellent. Firstly, it’s just a 50-metre stroll across West Cliff Green to the beach steps making this the perfect base for a family-friendly holiday by the sea. There are an array of restaurants and bars within walking distance whilst Bournemouth Pier and the town centre are also accessible by foot. We love the sea views from this place’s private garden and who wouldn’t want to dine or relax in the light-filled conservatory? If you’re a group of eight, then two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living space, but it’s a spacious room. What a great find this is.

Dorset Paradise

With plenty of space to spread out, this ground-floor apartment in an Edwardian home near Westbourne is a fantastic base to return to after a day at the beach. Having a private entrance and garden ensures you have all the privacy you need here, plus private parking is a real premium in this area during the summer months. Although there's room for six, we think the main bedroom is better suited to two adults and two children, while the second bedroom is ideal if you're travelling with another couple. When it's time to explore, you'll find the beautiful sandy beach of Alum Chine just 350 metres away, whilst a 15-minute walk will get you to the eclectic mix of boutiques, cafes and bars of Westbourne and its beautiful Victorian arcade.

Escape To The Sands

Set just a short stroll from Westbourne’s upmarket high street and only a five-minute drive from the golden sands of Bournemouth Beach, this modern maisonette offers a prime location for both coast and town. Exploring further afield along the coast or inland to the New Forest is a breeze, too, with private parking for two cars outside. However, you may be tempted to linger on the private decked terrace back at home instead. Surrounded by pine trees and strung with festoon lighting around a fire pit, it’s a fine spot for alfresco evenings. Inside, alongside the two elegant bedrooms (each with a private bathroom) upstairs, there’s also a sofa bed in the living room downstairs – perfect for families looking for a more flexible set-up.

Coastal Castle

Relaxed and comfortable, this Poole home makes a fuss-free base for a Dorset adventure. It's spread over three levels, and the top-floor suite boasts views across the harbour to Brownsea Island – imagine waking up to that each morning. Downstairs, the kitchen has all you need to rustle up the catch of the day while the electric fire keeps things cosy on chilly evenings. Come summertime, the private patio is the perfect spot for dinner and drinks in the sunshine. Location-wise, Poole Quay and the docks are just a short walk away. Further afield, yet within easy reach by car, are Bournemouth and Sandbanks Beach.
