Tucked into the hills above Slad Valley, this converted chapel offers a one-of-a-kind Cotswolds stay, with original arched windows and exposed beams made for family getaways. The open-plan kitchen and dining area are made for gathering, while the snug offers a tucked-away space for games or quiet time. Upstairs, every bedroom has its own character, whether beneath soaring beams or beside stained glass. Outside, dine alfresco on the terrace, stargaze from the upper garden, or simply sit and soak in the silence. With Painswick, Stroud and Laurie Lee’s countryside on your doorstep, this is the kind of place that invites you to stay awhile.

The Rose Window

Set within seven acres of private woodland in the beautiful Slad Valley, this architect-designed home has amazing views across the Cotswold escarpment. You can enjoy the vistas from its terrace and various seating areas, as well as from inside. There’s the all-important log burner in the open-plan living area and a library to relax in with a book. We love that the main bedroom suite opens out onto the patio too. When you want to explore, the town of Stroud is around 3 miles away with its farmers’ market and museum, while the local village pub is just over a mile.

The Woodland Villa

Once a coach house to the manor next door, this Grade II listed retreat is now a peaceful place to pause. Tucked among the trees and hidden from view, it offers a quiet escape with just the faintest glimpse of the valley beyond. Inside, the open-plan layout is calm and inviting, with soft tones, rustic textures and a round window that draws your eye outside. Spend mornings walking the Laurie Lee trail, afternoons exploring Stroud’s market stalls, and evenings in the bath or by the window seat, watching the light change. 

The Coachman's Loft

Second Nature is the best of both worlds. Found on the edge of Cheltenham, it’s only a short drive from the city, while still feeling incredibly idyllic and rural because of its immediate surroundings. Ideally placed for countryside walks, the Cotswold Way passes right behind the home, along with several other walking paths. We loved the attention to detail – the handmade, one-of-a-kind four-poster bed is truly something else. And let’s not forget about the views… We particularly enjoyed gazing at the green fields from the living room window.

Second Nature

Every corner of this enchanting cottage tells a unique story, adorned with treasures collected from the owners' extensive travels. Perfect for a family on a Cotswold getaway, it certainly makes for a cosy retreat – with the roll top bath, wood burner, and sun-kissed garden for warmer months only adding to its appeal. If you can tear yourself away from the views over the village green, the local area is a treat. Discover farmers' markets, antique shops, and charming Cotswold towns, including Cheltenham and Stroud. After something a little different? Take an alpaca for a walk in the neighbouring village of Cowley. This is a home where memories are made.

English Charm

This home hits all the right notes when it comes to quintessential Cotswolds charm. You’ll be welcomed by stunning parkland views, open-fires, eye-catching art and all the essentials you could need for an unforgettable stay. All of the rooms come with a distinct character and there’s an abundance of space for special family gatherings and celebrations. Outside, the south-facing garden lends itself perfectly to warm-weather drinks and barbecues. You can also wander across the fields to the nearest country pub. Plus, it’s just a short drive to Cheltenham Spa and Cirencester. 

Spring House

This serviced apartment is the ideal place to lay your head during a trip to Cheltenham. Step inside, and you'll find a sunny, open-plan space where there's room to cook, eat and relax in perfect peace. The squashy sofas are ideal for kicking back and relaxing between adventures, while the kitchen is well-equipped for quick breakfasts, leisurely Sunday lunches, and everything in between. Outside, you'll find a sizeable patio with a colourful bistro set that makes the ideal spot for an alfresco tipple at the end of the day. A fifteen-minute walk will take you into the centre of Cheltenham, with its Regency architecture, independent shops, and cosy pubs. The famous racecourse is just a ten-minute drive away, while the Cotswolds' picture-perfect villages are close by too. We recommend a trip to idyllic Bourton-on-the-Water – it's a thirty-minute car ride away. 

Reading Tea Leaves

Located on a quiet street yet just a minute's walk from Cheltenham's high street, this home is the ideal base for those looking to be in the heart of the town's action. From the dazzlingly bright white kitchen to the art-framed dining area and plump sofa in the sitting room, chic meets comfort in this home’s eclectic contemporary decor. We love the large glass doors that lead out onto a private patio garden – the ideal spot to begin sunny mornings with a cup of Earl Grey and toast to good times over sundowners. The two bedrooms, meanwhile, are pared back and sophisticated (you've even got a choice of pillows to suit your preference) but it’s the master bathroom that really steals the show with its freestanding tub under a beautiful fanned mirror. Treat yourself to a long soak after a day of exploring  – a glass of bubbly in hand – and relish the quiet of your garden-facing locale. Speaking of sightseeing, you’ve got a plethora of restaurants, shops and wine bars on your front step, while Montpellier Gardens is an eight-minute stroll away. Pittville Park is also walkable in twenty minutes, the Promenade is six minutes away on foot and the iconic Cheltenham Racecourse is a nine-minute drive from your door. 


Gold Cup Chic

Located just a short stroll from Cheltenham town centre, this contemporary townhouse is perfectly positioned for a day at the races. While the modern decor here won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, we love the panelled walls and the pops of colour throughout the home. All the rooms are en-suite so it’s a great option for a group of friends as everyone will have their own privacy. And as well as a lounge and kitchen/diner, you’ll have a courtyard garden to socialise in when the weather allows.

Town and Country

Set in the countryside, this charming home is an ideal base for exploring the Cotswolds and the surrounding area. Outside, an expansive garden invites you to bask in the fresh air. Pad out the terrace with your morning coffee, enjoy lunch under the shade of the birch tree, or fire up the barbecue for an alfresco dinner. Inside, the sitting room is perfect for winding down. The kitchen is the heart of the house, designed for families who love cooking, chatting, and coming together. When you're ready to venture out, make the short drive to Gloucester and Cheltenham, or lace up your boots for a walk along the Cotswolds Way.

Birch & Honey

Once upon a time, this quaint cottage was actually a barn used to store grain. Since then, it has been lovingly renovated into a dainty holiday home perfect for a small family getaway. Situated on the owners' farm on the outskirts of Cheltenham and close to the village of Shurdington, it's right on the edge of the Cotswolds. The velvet sofas and original wooden beams create a cosy atmosphere which is enhanced when you light up the wood-burning stove on chilly evenings. There's also a private garden where you can grill up a feast to share at the alfresco dining area. Exploring the surrounding countryside is easy from here, whether you're planning to travel on foot, by car, on a bike or even by horseback – that's right, for an additional fee, you can rent a neighbouring stable for your steed. Cheltenham Racecourse is just six miles away, while the charming towns of Bourton-on-the-Water and Bibury are both less than a twenty-mile drive from your front door. 

The Village Farmhouse

If you’re in search of an easygoing Cotswolds getaway, this home makes a great option. You’ll find it’s just a short drive or bus ride into the heart of Gloucester city centre, while Cheltenham is also within easy reach. There is a large private garden and the open-plan living room and kitchen lends itself perfectly to social gatherings. It’s worth noting this home isn’t suitable for infants or children, but we think it makes a great spot for a refreshing adults-only escape.
