A rural idyll set on a small, family-run farm, this place oozes charm. A converted stone barn packed with character, it's the ideal place if you're looking for a country bolthole for a large group. In terms of style, it's all stone floors, oak beams and classic country furnishings. The huge wall of windows floods the main living room with light, with its feature log burner, grand piano and galleried landing taking centre stage. There's a garden room, a large kitchen-diner and, if the youngsters would rather watch a film separately, there's a cosy snug. Bedrooms are supremely comfortable, and you'll have enough bathrooms to banish those morning queues for the shower. If it's a nice day (and why wouldn't it be?) you can step out onto the home's beautiful terrace for breakfast overlooking the garden – a safe and enclosed space for the children to play. Explore the farm, owned by the same family for 220 years, and you may meet some of their rare breed sheep, cattle, hens and pet donkeys. Wildlife-friendly, the farm is also home to rare native flora and fauna, and the owners are happy to sell you their honey, eggs, lamb and beautiful woven blankets produced from sheep on the farm. All this and it's just a twenty-minute drive to Cheltenham in one direction and to Stow-on-the-Wold in the other.

This Grade II listed Cotswold stone cottage is tucked away in the village of Upper Slaughter. From here, you can easily explore charming Cotswolds villages including nearby Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold – make sure you bring a car. The cottage is full of charm, and features ancient beams and an inglenook fireplace. Children will love the outdoor playroom, and the patio outside is great for summertime barbecues. The steep stairs here mean that this home won’t be suitable for everyone.

With its warm stone exterior, there's no mistaking what area of England this lovely Edwardian villa is in – it’s nestled in the popular Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Water. We adore the fragrant, lavender-filled south-facing garden – it's the perfect spot for a sunny afternoon barbecue followed by a lavender martini. The level lawn is ideal for garden games too. The grounds here are a real highlight – there's even a beautiful pear tree flourishing at the front.

Inside, you'll find an array of character features such as the original quarry floor tiles in the hall, exposed stone walls, beams, decorative fireplaces and stained glass windows. There's a cosy snug as well as an elegant living room, so this place is ideal for families or friends looking to spread out a little. To top it all, there's parking for three cars in a private bay behind the house – a total bonus in such a central location.

When you feel like exploring this beautiful village, you'll discover its low bridges, pretty waterways and traditional stone houses. Or head to the Cotswold Motoring Museum, which has a variety of vintage cars and a toy collection. The nearest major supermarket is an eighteen-minute walk or a four-minute drive away, and there are some tempting bakeries for tasty pastries and bread. You’ll find this charming cottage in Lower Slaughter, providing an ideal base from which to explore the beauty of the Cotswolds. Inside, the home is packed full of old school charm, but it’s the outdoor space that caught our eye. Vast lawns give way to pretty flowerbeds, and there are cosy seating areas to dine or simply kick back with a good book. Locally, there are plenty of walks to enjoy through Lower Slaughter that run along the River Eye, along with a village pub serving delicious meals. Within easy reach, you’ll also find Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford – all much deserving of a visit.

You’ll find this Grade II listed home just a stone’s throw from Stow-on-the-Wold and Lower Swell – in other words, perfectly placed to explore the Cotswolds. Full of charm, it’s the little added luxuries that make this space special for us. A copper bath, wood burner, and a section of glass floor showcasing the source of the spa waters below are just some of the touches you can enjoy. If you’re not soaking up the rolling countryside views from the garden, the nearby hiking trails will have you pulling on your boots and heading out to explore in no time.

Guests in search of a Cotswolds base can enter into the kitchen and dining area, before climbing up to the compact yet cosy middle floor sitting room. Another flight of stairs then leads you to your choice of two double bedrooms, both perfectly comfortable if on the smaller side. While Northleach has plenty of charm of its own, with shops, cafés and pubs all close to the cottage, you can also venture further afield by car to other quaint villages like Bourton-on-the-Water and larger towns like Cheltenham.

With countryside walks on your doorstep and many Cotswolds attractions within driving distance, this is a desirable place to be – and we absolutely adore this cottage, which is smack-dab in the centre of town. Once an antique showroom, this inviting homestead is now filled with local artwork – including paintings by the host's grandfather – as well as The Cotswold Company furniture and every amenity you can think of. Snuggle up with a book in front of the wood-burner, challenge the family to a board game around the dining table or relax with a soak in the sumptuous master bathtub. The private courtyard is the perfect spot to savour a cup of tea or a cocktail in the sun. In the evenings, light the barbecue and enjoy an alfresco meal, gathering around the fire pit for toasted marshmallows when the air turns chilly.
