Located in the Cotswolds, this Georgian manor home enjoys a secluded spot, surrounded by the rolling hills and natural landscape of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Find acres of beautifully manicured grounds at your feet as you walk around and stop to smell the blooming flowers right after breakfast. 

As with breakfast and dinner, we recommend lunch al fresco under the vine-covered pergola before going back to sunbathing poolside. In the summer months, when a heat wave brings more potent temperatures your way, you might spend entire sun-drenched afternoons splashing in the crystal-clear waters of the private pool. 

With peace and tranquillity in spades, it’s unlikely that you’ll want to leave that behind, but the charming market town of Dursley is a must for a nice walk and a cup of coffee at the end of it. 

Golfers can escape to Stinchcombe Hill, whilst watersport lovers can visit the Cotswold Water Park to try their hand at white-water rafting.

Nearby, there are plenty of walking trails to satisfy adults, little ones, and dogs alike, and for a more leisurely afternoon, it's just a short walk to the pub in Yorkley.

The lane up to the house is also steep, but it’s just a short walk to the nearest pub, while the larger towns of Nailsworth and Stroud are within easy driving distance.

Living on the grounds of a 16th century country-house in the lush green Cotswolds (the largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) already creates the ideal setting for nature lovers. Once you settle in with biscuits, fresh scones and fruits on arrival (among other goodies) and befriend the curious chickens, embark on a walk through the rolling Cotswold hills and valleys. While Netflix and cocoa are perfect for rainy days in, there is a whole world out there on sunnier days. The Cotswold Way is a trail that we’d definitely recommend, with plenty of historic pubs along the way, each serving their own collection of local ales. The home is located in Painswick, a village known as The Queen of the Cotswolds and characterised by beautiful narrow streets of honey coloured stone buildings dating back to the fifteenth century. Legend has it that the Devil won’t let a hundredth tree grow. There are all sorts of cafes and restaurants in and around the village, so make sure you ask the host, Hannah, for some recommendations.

Four fishing lakes are within the wider grounds, so keen anglers should bring their rods. If you’d prefer to stay put, there is a courtyard with outside seating for relaxing with a cup of tea. Inside, the wood-burning stove is a welcome addition in the cooler months and flexible sleeping in the fourth bedroom makes this place ideal for any family or group of friends staying together.

There's a wide choice of natural attractions to be discovered nearby as well, ranging from the Forest of Dean and Puzzlewood to Clearwell Caves.

This charming cottage offers a romantic escape for two in the Cotswolds. It’s in the village of Minchinhampton, a market town with pubs and a lively weekly market. There are National Trust walks nearby, in addition to the Gloucestershire countryside.
