Welcome to a rural retreat that serves up not only the perfect idyllic location, surrounded by fields but also bags of style and comfort. There's nothing rustic about this place, with underfloor heating, window walls and a high-end kitchen and bathroom. A modern oak barn that feels private and secluded, it's the ideal space to get away from it all and enjoy a slower pace of life.

Start your day with coffee at the breakfast bar, and decide between a long walk in the Chilterns and exploring the nearby towns and villages (we recommend the market town of Thame, just an eight-minute drive away). But if you're here to go completely off the radar for a few days, that's fine too – there's nothing stopping you from lounging in the garden hammock all day, soaking in the private hot tub and streaming your favourite shows on TV. And as the sun begins to set, light the barbecue and enjoy your meal on the patio, before heading up to the balcony for the best view of the stars before bed.



Forgotten Fields

Whether for business or leisure, sometimes the best base for a visit to London can be found outside of the capital. Situated in St Albans, a Hertfordshire city with plenty of history and character, this efficient ground floor apartment offers both comfort and convenience. There's plenty of space within and beyond the sizeable living and dining area, with two bedrooms and bathrooms meaning guests don't end up on top of each other. Besides its famous cathedral, St Albans' transport links are also well regarded, with regular trains south bringing you to the built-up bustle of King's Cross in half an hour.

St Albans Style

Step into this cosy and colourful Hertfordshire home, and out of the busy to-do of everyday life. Peacefully appointed, to stay here is to find a real sense of tranquillity from the moment you arrive. 

Wake up to serene green views from your Juliet balcony. Light pours in through the balcony doors in both the bedroom and the living space that making for a bright and uplifting interior. Lovingly decorated with tasteful artwork, antique adornments and curated flowers, it's the type of place in which you'll quickly feel at home. 

Sit down for lunch in the sunny and ever-so-charming dining area by the window – complete with a sleek white kitchen for plating up your home-cooking perfection. 

Walk into St Albans town centre for independent book and clothing shops, a surplus of quaint cafes and elegant eateries. If you're looking for a fun family day out, the stately Tudor home and gardens of Knebworth House are just a thirty-minute drive away, while you can reach London's glittering West End in under an hour.

Sunflower Whisperings

On a tree-lined crescent road, this elegant apartment occupies the wing of a traditional Victorian home and welcomes you to enjoy a regal stay in southeast London. 

Just a short stroll from Hampton Court Palace as well as the River Thames, you’ll find yourself perfectly poised for magical strolls, sightseeing and the endless delights of city living. And from the moment of arrival, you’ll want to pause and savour the unique details of this home. From the antique furnishings and ornate styling to the personal touches and leafy garden views, this is the kind of space that promises to bring warmth and joy to your stay – as well as an abundance of charm and character.

Grace & Light 

Situated within the idyllic Gotha Gardens at Pembroke Farm, this cottage stays true to its farmhouse heritage without giving up on any modern luxuries. Whitewashed beams adorn the ceilings in the living room, vibrant flatwoven rugs lay on oak floors and an ornamental fireplace takes centre stage. It's the perfect spot to kick back and relax after a long walk through the gardens and the open layout makes it easy to socialise while others rustle up a meal in the French farmhouse-style kitchen. During the summer, head out to the terrace overlooking the courtyard for a cup of tea or evening tipple, surrounded by lush potted plants and pretty flowers. But the best part of this home is the access to the Gotha Gardens. Stroll among the greenery, stopping to smell the roses and nibble on a slice of cake in the courtyard cafe. When you can pull yourself away from this verdant hideaway, it's only a quick drive to Ashwell – home to beautiful architecture and three county pubs – and stately homes like Wimpole Hall and Knebworth House are easily reachable. If you crave a little hustle and bustle, Cambridge is less than forty minutes by car.

This is an extra-special home in the grounds of an award-winning boutique vineyard. It’s been carefully curated to offer everything you might need during your stay, and for you to enjoy your visit in the lap of luxury. 

The home is a contemporary villa with vast windows looking out onto the vineyard and the rolling countryside that surrounds the property. The open-plan living and dining space is perfect for chatting over food and sipping wine – there’s even an honesty box wine bar for you to sample the wines produced by the vineyard. A striking nickel bar – like at The Ivy – has pride of place in front of the huge picture window overlooking the vineyard. There are also full height glass patio doors which open onto a wonderful private guest garden and patio.

Outside, pop open a bottle of chilled white or rosé wine and sink into the jacuzzi while the barbecue heats up. When the weather is fine, you won’t want to be anywhere else – there’s a comfy sofa and loungers, ideal for relaxing, and a tennis court if you want to work up a sweat. Dining outside with beautiful views laid out before you is utterly idyllic, especially when the sun starts to sink in the sky. 

If you feel the urge to explore, there’s plenty to see and do in the vicinity. The villa is a four-minute drive from Toppesfield village, where you can enjoy a meal in the community-owned pub. Finchingfield, the most photographed village in Essex is 10 minutes drive. For history enjoy a stroll around Castle Hedingham with its thatched cottages and amazing Norman castle. Saffron Walden, a medieval town – is thirty-six minutes away. There you’ll find a wealth of independent shops, cafes and restaurants around the buzzy market square as well as beautiful historic buildings, gardens, museum and art gallery. 

This is a memorable home for romantic visits to this picturesque area on the Essex/Suffolk border. Make sure you take a bottle of the vineyard’s award winning wine home with you – it’s the perfect memento.


An East Anglian Vineyard

Set in three acres of private gardens, this Regency period home is the best of country and village living. Towering oaks and evergreens line the manicured lawn, so it feels like you’re completely secluded from the world. Dotted throughout the gardens you’ll find plenty to entertain the kids – a slide, trampoline and sandpit. Let the kids run free on the lawn as grown-ups enjoy a cool drink on the terrace, or perhaps head down to the comfy sofa seats right by the river at the bottom of the garden. Inside, a wall of bookshelves and a wood-burning stove in the living room keep things cosy and there’s a fully-stocked pantry. Chefs will be in their element in the big, family kitchen where a chrome range cooker and huge fridge wouldn’t look out of place in a professional kitchen. Should work, or a work-out, call there’s a dedicated office upstairs with a Peloton bike and exercise balls for those sticking to a strict schedule. In terms of location, you’ve got woodland walks right on your doorstep (just cross the wooden bridge from the garden) and you’re in the heart of charming Standon village. Cosy country pubs, bakeries and shops are an easy walk, and it’s an hour’s drive from London if you crave a day in the big city. 

Together By The River

Situated right on the lakeside with its own private, wood-fired hot tub this fantastic glamping pod offers comfortable accommodation for up to six guests within its light and surprisingly spacious feeling interior. Unwind in the warm waters of the hot tub as you gaze out over the lake, soaking up the tranquil views of the water and the countryside, or fire up the barbecue to cook up something tasty on a sunny afternoon. 

During your stay at this unique lakeside chalet, you'll enjoy a discount at the on-site farm shop – so you can pick up the freshest regional produce that the area has to offer while supporting local businesses (that's got to be a win-win!). The pod is part of a farm park, so kids and adults alike can enjoy meeting the alpacas, lambs, pigs, and other farm animals with free entry. 

Venture off the farm and into the town of Hertford and you will find a range of local shops, restaurants, and traditional pubs as well as the historic Hertford Castle, the grounds of which are perfect for a picnic on a summer's day. There are also loads of walking trails nearby, such as the Chadwell Way Sculpture Trail which follows a five-mile route through the towns and countryside of Hertford, Ware, and Great Amwell, in Hertfordshire, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to get out moving out in the fresh country air.

The Lakeside Glam-pod

Set on a countryside estate, this converted barn captures a sense of the charm of the Home Counties. The setting is ideal for a couple to get out of the city for a break – you wouldn’t know it, but London is less than an hour away on the train. It’s a real gem of a getaway, whether you’re more inclined to enjoy tranquil walks in fields of parkland and nature reserves, cooking farm-to-table meals at home, or heading to the local pub for a Sunday roast.

Halcyon Hideaway

There's something undeniably idyllic about this cottage's location. Sitting alone within acres of Bedfordshire countryside, the River Great Ouse runs alongside the property. You can sit and listen to the peaceful sounds or spot the wildlife that calls the stretch of water home from the outdoor deck, which even has a jetty. If you want to add a touch of decadence, it's also possible to hire a private hot tub and enjoy the scenery surrounded by bubbles.

Heading inside the front door, you'll see that there's a distinctly rustic feel to the interior, particularly the brick flooring and inglenook fireplace holding a log burner. However, you'll also be happy to hear that the home was fully refurbished in 2021, which you can certainly see in the modern blue kitchen and cosy white bedrooms.

When the weather's on your side, there are plenty of walks to embark upon within Turvey Estate and the village itself — along with its pair of pubs, a butchers shop and a park — can be reached in just over a quarter of an hour on foot.



The Water of Life

Nestled between two islands on the picturesque banks of the River Thames – this beautiful thatched Edwardian home built in 1903, under a fifteen-minute drive from Windsor, is the perfect riverside retreat. Watch the boats, ducks and swans on the river go by from your own private heated pool. Lawns stretch down to the water – perfect for a game of croquet or challenge someone to a game of table tennis. There’s also a multipurpose play area for any younger children.

Inside, you'll see more of those divine riverside vistas. There are two living rooms and plenty of space for entertaining your family or friends. We love the master bedroom’s balcony, but a real highlight of this home for us was the bedroom attached to the side of the house on stilts. It’s constructed out of 19th century beams from one of the last pioneering ships bound for Australia and contains beautiful carvings and unique features from this period.

When you want to explore, your hosts can help arrange River Thames boat trips to pick you and your guests up directly from the garden. There’s also a lovely pub in the nearby village of Wraysbury, a ten-minute walk away. As well as close proximity to Windsor and Eton, Ascot racecourse is just over twenty minutes in the car and Thorpe Park, a fifteen-minute ride, while Henley, which hosts the Royal Regatta is forty minutes. If you visit London, Slough train station (a fifteen-minute drive away) runs services to London Paddington, the fastest being fourteen minutes.

Moments from the centre of Henley-On-Thames, this apartment offers a relaxing base in a wonderful location. You can stroll to the local pub, restaurants ands shops. Parking is available and it’s just a short walk to the train station – making it easy to explore further afield. Whether you’re on a work trip or a weekend getaway, this apartment has been thoughtfully designed to bring ease to your stay. The living room is perfect for slow evenings at home and the main bedroom comes with an en-suite bathroom for extra privacy.
