It's not the most modern home – the communal hallway is especially dated – but it works well for families keen to be seconds from the sea.

This place is ideal for families, which reminds us – there’s a trundle bed in bedroom three for two guests, so it’s probably better suited for kids. When you feel like exploring the area, the market town of Hythe with its shops, restaurants and wonderful beaches is 6 miles away.

You may even spot the resident kingfisher as it flies from the pond. When you're ready for sleep, drift off in the plush beds in the country-style bedrooms, then wake up feeling well-rested and ready to explore Kent. You're perfectly located for adventures – make the twenty-minute drive to the coastal Dungeness National Nature Reserve or reward yourself after a stroll with a pint in one of the delicious pubs nearby.
