There's a lot to love about this charming home in West London. For starters, the sitting area is the definition of cosy, with its eclectic decorations, sumptuous seating, and rustic kitchen. Need to catch up on work during your stay? The office is the perfect spot to do just that. Just keep in mind that the third bedroom is snug and lacks storage, making it a better fit for little ones. Location-wise, this family-friendly neighbourhood is a great base for exploring. There are a few gastropubs nearby, but Goldhawk Road Station is a short stroll away for adventures further afield.

Close to upmarket Kensington and bohemian Notting Hill is the charming area of Brook Green. Known for its village atmosphere, period architecture and excellent transport links (Hammersmith, Goldhawk Road and Shepherds Bush stations are all within walking distance), this pocket of West London suits families, business travellers and those craving a quieter neighbourhood. Yet it's still close to excellent restaurants, cosy gastropubs, green spaces and plenty of shopping, with Westfield London (fifteen-minute stroll), Kensington High Street (twenty-minute walk) and Holland Park (thirty minutes on foot) all just a stone's throw away. This bright apartment in a picturesque mansion is the perfect place to rest your feet and recharge after a long day exploring. The fully-stocked kitchen has everything you'll need to rustle up a meal, while the cosy living area has a comfortable sofa, Freeview channels and DVD player for chilled nights at home. There's also a desk if you need to do some remote working, though we'd probably get distracted watching the world pass by outside the window. But our favourite feature is the sumptuous rolltop bath. We can't think of a better way to end the day than with a glass of wine, a good book and a relaxing soak. Pure bliss.

A warm and welcoming family home in the heart of West London, this beautiful townhouse is the ideal base for you and your family to make the most of your time in the capital. Inside, the open kitchen/living room is the heart, with a large range cooker that's perfect for family feasts, with a nice breakfast table and cosy living room, complete with lots of books and a roaring fireplace. We can imagine lazy Sunday afternoons snoozing on the sofa after a roast. Upstairs, you'll find a second sitting room, with a laptop-friendly workspace in case those emails can't wait. All three bedrooms are decorated in neutral grey tones that help you unwind after a busy day, though the third bedroom mixes things up with some fun printed wallpaper, plus there's plenty of storage space so you can unpack and feel truly at home. At the very top of the house, you'll find a rooftop terrace overlooking the neighbourhood. It's an excellent spot for sundowners at the end of a busy day. And if you prefer your pints on draught, there are a couple of great local pubs. Elsewhere, Ravenscourt Park and the River Thames are close by, while the vast Westfield shopping centre takes care of your shopping needs. There isn't much need to venture into Central, but if you'd like to catch a show, then you're just over half an hour from London's glittering West End on the Piccadilly Line.

Set in a period property on a leafy street between Hammersmith and Shepherd’s Bush, this characterful apartment is a great base for exploring West London and beyond. There’s a well-equipped kitchen for dining at home, plus a comfortable living room overlooking the quiet, tree-lined street. The bedrooms share a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, and the master bedroom on the top floor has a Juliet balcony offering far-reaching rooftop views. Walk ten minutes to Hammersmith station and the Tube can take you four stops to South Kensington (for the Natural History Museum), or five stops to Knightsbridge (for Hyde Park). You're not far from Ravenscourt Park and close to the shops on nearby Askew Road. This home has everything you might need, including a cinema room and a stunning open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space. Floor-to-ceiling windows look out onto the garden, where there’s a pretty apple tree and a pergola for alfresco dining. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed, and two have en-suite bathrooms. This is a uniquely attractive London home.

Feather Quill is a comfortable and cosy home located in a picturesque grove area but still close to the bustling office area of Hammersmith. An eclectic selection of paintings and objects contrast with the minimal white aesthetic of the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, which is part of a brand new extension. The quirky nature of the books and artworks around the desk area might not suit everyone, although it creates a relaxed, homely feel. We really liked the remote control blind system, which is excellent for a peaceful sleep.

It’s all about the location at this swish apartment in Shepherd’s Bush. Goldhawk Road underground station is an easy walk away, whisking you into the centre of London in a matter of minutes. Sticking around to explore the neighbourhood, you’ll find ample green space and pretty high streets lined with cosy pubs. Part of a set of serviced apartments, you won’t find homely bric-a-brac or odds and ends filling the surfaces, rather a sleek, open-plan living room and a full kitchen for self-catering. Plus two comfy bedrooms.

There's something truly whimsical about this Fulham home which we love. For instance, not every place has a swan's head (with a crown no less) watching over proceedings. The absolute highlight here, though, is the pretty, sunny garden – the rattan sofa, surrounded by scented climbers, is the perfect spot for cocktails. Back through the Crittal style patio windows, you'll find a stylish kitchen with a dining area and, beyond that, an elegant living room with period character features such as a bay window. At the end of a busy day in London, we can't think of anything better than having a long luxurious soak in the silver freestanding bath.

Located in the leafy, sought-after neighbourhood of Parsons Green, you'll have an array of restaurants and bars nearby. If you crave more green space, go for a stroll around Eel Brook Common, within a fifteen-minute walk. Or explore the rest of London – Parsons Green Station, on the Wimbledon branch of the District line, is under five minutes on foot.

Barnes is one of London's most coveted neighbourhoods and it's homes like this that show you why. The Georgian townhouse is one of the oldest in Barnes Village — named as such since the area is bordered on three sides by the River Thames and parkland on the final side — although the interior is as modern as they come. Downstairs, the teal walls and dark brown floorboards make for an opulent canvas against which the varied artwork collection, marble kitchen surfaces and patterned ottoman stand out. As well as an additional living room geared towards movie nights, guests will also find a small patio filled with plants at the back of the property and a balcony with a view of the river. As well as sitting on a high street with plenty of shops and cafes, the Thames Path can be reached in just two minutes if you fancy a stroll, while the London Wetland Centre is just a fifteen-minute walk away also. The bright lights of Central London take just twenty minutes to get to on the train, too.

While it may be compact, it’s comfortable for up to four guests, featuring an open-plan living area and a well-equipped kitchen. Remote workers can get down to business in the separate study, which has a sofa bed for guests five and six. Factor in the sun-kissed patio, balcony, and private parking, and it's no surprise it caught our eye.
