This stylish apartment has a prestigious location in Shoreditch, in a landmark building designed by the renowned architects Foster + Partners. We love the ensuite bathroom, beautifully finished with marble. The open-plan living space is flooded with lots of natural light with large windows overlooking London. However, the absolute highlights here for us are the indoor lap pool and spa – perfect for relaxing after a busy day. There's also a residents' lounge, a state-of-the-art gym, and a cinema, so there's plenty to keep you occupied.

If all this wasn't enough, this home has a fabulous address. It's a twelve-minute walk to East London Tech City, otherwise known as Silicon Roundabout, while Spitalfields Market is a four-minute saunter. With its public gardens, bars, and restaurants, Hoxton Square is a seven-minute wander, or art lovers can head to the Barbican Arts Centre, seventeen minutes away on foot.

This flat is undoubtedly cool. Firstly, it's minutes from the vibrant markets, delicious curry houses and quirky bars of Brick Lane. But it offers much more than a prime location. 

We loved the open-plan living space, brought to life by the bold artwork on the walls and sewn together by the breakfast bar in the centre of the room. Perfect for sharing toast and jams in the morning, it expertly blends the living room and the kitchen. If you wanted to invite friends over for dinner, the room has a light, airy vibe that's ideal for a hosting space. 

Of course, when you're in such proximity to London's world-class restaurants, you probably want to sample them. Myriad fine eateries are right on your doorstep, or you can hop on the underground at Liverpool Street to reach Soho in a matter of minutes.

Head in the other direction and you'll find the Olympic Stadium and the beautiful park that surrounds it. Given the array of accessible public transport, you can reach the cool districts of Peckham, Hackney and Dalston in less than half an hour.

Behind a beautifully renovated townhouse facade lies an interior that is bright and beautiful in equal measures. The living room has the feel of a contemporary art gallery, with high ceilings, parquet flooring and striking pieces on the wall. Although saying that, we haven't been to a gallery with such cute pastel-pink, tufted furnishings. 

The kitchen is just as striking, thanks to the large windows, the flurry of house plants and handsome marble surfaces. So striking in fact, that we crowned it 'kitchen of the year' on Instagram. As well as letting in copious amounts of natural light, the French door also leads out to a charming garden space with some seating for warm evenings. 

Upstairs, the bedrooms are both large and equipped with regal beds, while there's even a balcony space looking out over the rooftops of East London and the distant skyscrapers in The City. However, you don't even have to go far to find things to do in the neighbourhood. Just around the corner, there's the Castle Cinema — an Art Deco building reopened after a local crowdfunding campaign — and Chatsworth Market, which runs every Sunday with a great range of independent stalls.

This beautiful Victorian home in Walthamstow is a treat for families looking to make the most of the area’s stunning nature and shop-lined streets offering a plethora of cute cafés and cosy restaurants. 

Wonderfully renovated with a keen eye for design, every inch of this home has been curated with calm relaxation in mind. We love the incredible amount of light that flows in through the living room’s bay windows, creating the perfect setting for lazy mornings on the sofa with a mug of tea and one of the many books on the shelves. 

Step through to the stylish open-plan kitchen area with its polished concrete floors and underfloor heating for an even more dazzling display of light with sunlight streaming in through the skylights and the glass doors leading out onto a private leafy garden. This is the perfect spot to enjoy sunny barbecues, lawn games and plenty of fun for little ones on the trampoline. And should the weather turn, there’s plenty to keep all ages entertained inside with toys, books and everyone’s favourite streaming services. 

When it’s time for bed, head upstairs to the comfortable dressed bedrooms – one of which is specially kitted out for younger members of the family – and wake up to the promise of a relaxing soak under the metro-tiled bathroom’s rainfall shower. 

While you could easily while away whole days in your welcoming home, venture out to explore the many sights nearby. The William Morris Gallery is an eleven-minute walk, Walthamstow Village is a sixteen-minute stroll and Walthamstow Wetlands – Europe's largest urban wetlands –  is fifteen minutes away on foot. And should you wish to spend a day in the heart of buzzing Central London, you need only hop on the Victoria Line to be whisked away to Oxford Circus in twenty-two minutes.

This snug, east London flat has bags of charm and comfort. Located on a leafy residential street in the heart of trendy Dalston it’s a perfect base for those wanting to explore the city. A short skip to the buses and you’ll be in town in less than 20 minutes, or else it’s a 10-minute stroll to overland stations and the tube. Dalston is a lively neighbourhood with cafes, restaurants and boutique shops but happily the apartment is a haven of calm and tranquillity. Wood-panelled flooring, large windows and soothing green and white tones predominate while personal touches include a wood burner, heaving bookshelf and neat kitchen stocked with teas, herbs and spices. In the evening, clubbers can take advantage of the nightlife in nearby Hoxton and Shoreditch but the lounge is so appealing that the mood might just take you to curl up on the cosy sofa with one of the well-thumbed books instead.

This is a soulful space for those after a more alternative place to stay when they're visiting the UK's capital. Part of a converted former piano factory, the interior is instantly uplifting thanks to the array of bold modern artwork, statement wallpaper and house plants dotted about. You can tell it's been put together by somebody with an artistic disposition. It's up on the second floor with views from the Juliet balconies over the rooftops of Stoke Newington, a quiet neighbourhood with a great village vibe. If you want to explore, the host has left their Dutch bike and guests are free to borrow it. Alternatively, you can rent her car, which is parked in the on-site car park. Clissold Park is only two minutes' walk up the road and is home to a small deer farm. Likewise, Church Street takes only six minutes to reach on foot and offers cosy restaurants, traditional boozers and vintage shops.



The Milner

Bursting with sunlight and high ceilings, this apartment is a real gem. It's set on the first floor of a Grade II-listed building, offering more than enough space for a couple. Stacked bookshelves provide entertainment when you're not out and about, while the dining table by the sash window makes a great spot to work from home. As for location, you'll be based on a tree-lined street in leafy Islington. Shops, pubs and cafes on Upper Street are a five-minute walk away. Or, for adventures further afield, Highbury and Islington Station is less than ten minutes on foot.

The apartment is contemporary but cosy, with attractive high-end finishes and a petite balcony. At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on two sofa beds in the living space, which might feel a little crowded for longer stays.

Back in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, this corner of East London was a thriving industrial hub, but today it's the sort of highly coveted neighbourhood where luxury flats such as this one are springing up. You can get a sense of this transformation from the home's balcony, which gives guests a view of the canal and former warehouses that have been transformed into studios, bars and nightclubs — Hackney Wick, where many of these can be found, is only twelve minutes' walk away. Back inside, the long open-concept living space benefits from the huge floor-to-ceiling window at the end, which brings in copious amounts of natural light. The blue kitchen is as sleek as they come, with stone-composite work surfaces and in-built lighting, while the underfloor heating is sure to be appreciated in the winter months, too. The cherry on the cake is the building's communal gym, which guests are free to visit should they wish.

Hackney Carriage

With leafy gardens, Georgian architecture, and literary connections, Highgate Village is the place to be for nature and history lovers. For the arts, this home is just an eleven-minute stroll to Highgate Contemporary Art Gallery, while Jacksons Lane Arts Centre is a cultural hub two minutes from your door. Dickens and Byron frequented the taverns around here, but there are still plenty of gastro pubs and restaurants for those with modern tastes – as well as this apartment. 

Behind the traditional red-brick Victorian facade of the building, you’ll be surprised at the contrast. Your chic living space features ghost chairs and glass tabletops, with high ceilings and an understated colour palette creating a feeling of zen. But original features have not been forgotten – we love the large period windows that allow light to flood in, as well as the ornate fireplace with carved ironwork and antique ceramic tiles.

After a few glasses of English sparkling wine on the mid-century sofa, it might be time for a lie-down. In soothing neutral colour schemes, and with views of lush foliage, both bedrooms have a calming ambience. You can’t beat a peaceful night's sleep after an evening of culture and cocktails in this tranquil region of North London.

This stylish studio apartment is an ideal base for a London break. It’s in Shoreditch, close to co-working spaces and business hubs, as well as theatres and galleries. You won’t need to walk far to find your next great meal – there are countless bars, restaurants, and cafes nearby. If you’d prefer to cook for yourself, this apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. There’s also a desk for those working remotely during their stay. As this is a studio, privacy is limited – all three guests will sleep in the same space. 

Big City Studio

Situated on a unique crescent-shaped street of Victorian homes – this apartment in Kings Cross is a great find. There’s an array of restaurants, bars and boutiques at nearby Granary Square and Coal Drops Yard, or have a stroll along the canal close by. The apartment itself has been featured in a variety of films and advertisements and takes its inspiration from a collection of artists and intellectuals known as the Bloomsbury Group. The highlight for us though is the pretty courtyard garden – the perfect spot for reading a book.

With at least two coffee shops and two pubs only a two-minute walk away, this Hackney home is where comfort and creativity come out to play. Walk into any room here and you’ll be met by striking art that sits in beautiful contrast against the statement walls and wooden floors. Furnished with style and comfort in mind, everything that occupies this space doesn’t just look good, but it serves to make your stay as cosy as possible. Head outside first thing in the morning to enjoy your coffee – if you’re early enough you might even catch the sunrise – or  spend hours reading on the floral chair with the fire crackling next to you. Head into the kitchen to work on an elaborate Full English for breakfast, but not before opening the bifold doors and putting some soft music on, dance like no ones watching whilst you cook and gather around the beautiful dining table to eat and plan the day.

With London being as well connected as it is, this marvellous city is your oyster – Buckingham Palace is a forty-minute journey on public transport and from there you can easily take a twenty-five minute walk to Oxford Circus for a bit of shopping, or walk the same distance in a different direction and get to the London Eye where you can marvel at the amazing views over the city. Closer to home, you can spend an entire day at Victoria Park – an eight-minute walk away – just remember the picnic blanket, supplies and a good book, before ending your day with a cold pint in one of the many surrounding pubs

When it comes to London neighbourhoods, some visitors are guilty of overlooking Farringdon, which is a pretty big sin in our books — not only is it excellently located between the bright lights of the city centre and the trendier East, but it's full of exciting restaurants, interesting museums and industrial architecture. It's also home to effortlessly cool apartments, such as this one.

In the open-concept living-kitchen area, light flows through the space thanks to windows on either end. The design is definitely Scandi in influence — clock the clean lines and preference for wood surfaces — but the abstract artwork stops it from feeling too identikit. Rather pleasingly for a home for two, the cobalt kitchen has a wealth of sleek surface space for whipping up romantic dinners, while the pristinely tiled bathroom has a tub that will surely sing to you after a long day on your feet.

Although the surrounding neighbourhood has a welcomingly quiet residential feel, some of the UK capital's most famous sights are only a short walk away — both The British Museum and St Paul's Cathedral will take you all of twenty minutes to reach.

Located in hipper-than-hip Hoxton, this funky flat is full of colourful character and fascinating design elements. From its large, leather L-shaped sofa to its pendant lights and eclectic posters, this space is made for living it up and winding down, both in equal measure. We love the main room’s loading doors that open up onto a balcony and the steel desk that will make working from home a treat. The kitchen, too, is a masterclass in industrial chic with its AGA Rangemaster double oven, wine cabinet and sleek stainless steel countertops. The bedroom, meanwhile, is calm and understated with a detailed wood headboard and artistic prints adding pops of colour. While we won’t blame you for wanting to chill out in your city pad all day long, there’s plenty of entertainment to be had right outside your door. There are two roomy bedrooms, a breezy open-plan living area, and a small balcony – it's a tad overlooked but still a nice enough spot to enjoy the fresh air. All in all, it's a great option for friends and families.

Right on the edge of Epping Forest, this beautiful semi-detached Edwardian house has been renovated to an exacting standard, while still retaining many of its original features. The open kitchen living area is the heart of the house, and is bathed in plenty of natural light thanks to glass doors spanning the width of the room and a large skylight. High ceilings, mature indoor plants, and contemporary art characterise the space, alongside Scandi woods and statement pottery. The glass doors lead out onto the private garden, complete with a trampoline for the kids to bounce on, and an outdoor table for long summer lunches. 

Each of the bedrooms is full of charm, decorated with antique furniture and unique trinkets to make you feel right at home. We love the kids’ room, which is full of stuffed toys and books to keep your little one amused throughout your stay. The house is on a peaceful square, one minute walk from Epping Forest. Take a picnic to Hollow Pond in the summertime and watch the rowboats bobbing along the water. You’ll be right on the edge of Walthamstow, the trendy London neighbourhood full of independent coffee shops, vintage boutiques, and excellent restaurants. This area enjoys a village feel and is surrounded by green space – but the hustle and bustle of Central London can still be reached in thirty-five minutes via public transport.
