If you’re in search of a relaxing haven in the heart of Hackney, this warehouse apartment delivers a peaceful solution. Tucked away on the top floor, you’ll be welcomed by a calm open-plan design and plenty of home comforts. There’s a raised meditation and yoga zone to fill your day with positive energy and plenty of work space for digital nomads. You’ll also have a little balcony – perfect for a morning coffee or evening drinks. From here, it’s a short walk to Walthamstow Marshes and the nearest amenities in Clapton. It’s also just a short walk to the nearest bus stop – making it easy to explore further airfield.

Find Your Flow 

We’re big fans of this apartment’s crisp, contemporary interiors and lengthy private balcony, but its Hackney location is the real standout. Overlooking a quiet corner of Haggerston Park (perfect for morning jogs), yet within walking distance of Shoreditch's action, you've got the best of both worlds. Here for sightseeing? Hoxton Overground Station is only ten minutes away on foot, giving you easy access to the rest of the city. Planning a longer stay? The made-for-action kitchen makes home cooking simple for quiet nights in, and the bedroom desk setup is ideal for working remotely.

A Parkside View

Cross the gangplank onto this incredible floating home near the Thames. Moored just a couple of blocks from Tower Bridge, this former 1930s steel barge is a ten-minute walk from the Tower of London. The top deck has been converted into a long, open living space with views of St Katharine Docks Marina from the huge windows. We love the semi-outdoor dining room, housed in a glass atrium-style space to the rear of the ship, with seating for ten. Choose to relax in the stylish white lounge on the upper deck, or head downstairs to the snug with its u-shaped sofa around a striking suspended fireplace. Bedrooms are on the lower deck, but that doesn’t mean dark cabins with tiny portholes. Spacious rooms have walls of windows and if there are portholes, they’re the size of a bass drum, letting in tonnes of natural light. If you manage to bag the master bedroom, its en-suite comes with a sauna. Welcome aboard, matey!

All Afloat

A convenient base for a couple or a solo traveller, this apartment is in a sleek development in Canary Wharf. You’ll have access to communal facilities including a gym, a roof terrace, and co-working spaces – perfect if you’ll be in London for business. The petite studio apartment has a modern kitchenette, though you’ll have plenty of cafes nearby if you’d rather dine out. There are also shops close by, and you can reach Canary Wharf Tube station in less than ten minutes. 

Tower Tales

Sitting right on the edge of London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, this stunningly curated penthouse apartment wins gold with its beautiful views, luxurious touches and designer styling. 
 
Floor to ceiling windows in the open-plan living area bathe the space in light, while carefully curated design pieces like a Rodica chair, freestanding arc lamp and plush modern sofas complement the chic scene. Slide open the glass doors to step out onto a private balcony where a table and chairs invite morning coffees and celebratory sundowners alike while taking in the wide-sweeping views over the Olympic Park. From this privileged spot, you can see some of the area’s most famous sights, including the London 2012 Olympic Rings (a three-minute walk away), the Lee Valley VeloPark (also a three-minute walk)  and the London ArcelorMittal Orbit (a twenty-minute walk). 
 
Back inside, the modern kitchen is ready to cater homemade feasts to be enjoyed at the elegant dining table, followed by a nightcap on the bedrooms’ balconies and a restful night’s sleep in their comfortable beds. 
 
Throughout, you’ll appreciate the luxe details that amplify your relaxation, like underfloor heating in every room, a wine cooler in the kitchen, a rainfall shower and soaking tub in the bathrooms, as well as welcome goodies like pastries to make you feel right at home. 
 
While you could spend all day in your plush pad and its Olympic Park playground, venture out to explore further afield where you’ll find plenty more things to see and do –, Westfield Stratford City shopping centre is an eight-minute walk, trendy Hackney Wick is a fourteen-minute stroll and leafy Victoria Park is a twenty minutes away on foot.


The Marilyn Monroe

If to your ears the year 2012 doesn't sound right without the prefix of London, this penthouse apartment will bring back some fond memories. Step out onto the private balcony and look left to see the Olympic Stadium where Mo Farah, Usain Bolt and Jessica Ennis-Hill all memorably snatched gold. Turn your head the other way and you'll see the London Aquatics Centre, which hosted the pool events at the games. As well as being easy on the eye — the work of architect Zaha Hadid, no less — you can go for a swim in this iconic venue if you fancy. Speaking of striking design, this home's interior deserves some plaudits, too. Dazzlingly white walls accentuate the occasional bursts of orange, while the kitchen's clean lines and sleek surfaces will please any fan of minimalism. It's not just a pretty face, though — you'll appreciate the underfloor heating if you're staying during the colder months. The local area is ripe for exploring, with the nearby Westfield shopping centre providing both retail and culinary distractions. However, one thing that we highly recommend is to hire a bike and take a tour of the Olympic Park to bring that summer of sports rushing back.

This Hackney hideaway is full of surprises. Whether you're soaking in the copper bathtub, relaxing in the infrared sauna, or enjoying a drink on the wrap-around terrace, we reckon you'll feel right at home here. Each room is colourful, bright, and ultra-comfortable – though two guests will sleep on a small sofa bed. Central London is within easy reach, thanks to the nearby Overground station, but Hackney itself is full of trendy eateries, cool bars, and independent shops. Many are just a short walk away – make sure to ask your delightful host, Jane, about all her favourite spots. 

House of Clapton

Whether you’re in London for business or leisure, this fuss-free apartment offers an ideal base away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The desk space in the living room makes remote working a breeze, while the cosy balcony is just the spot for morning coffee as you drink in the views across London. Victoria Park is a mere ten minutes away on foot when you crave a little greenery, and Roman Road Market, five minutes away, is well worth a visit – vintage clothing and artisanal food await. 

Rainhill Delight

Do you appreciate idiosyncratic design? This bright and bijou apartment has the stuff in spades: each room has its own aesthetic and vibe, from the chic, tiled kitchen to bedrooms adorned with psychedelic or flower print wallpaper. A real steal, it suits business travellers based in Stratford, or anyone looking to explore the Olympic Park, original Westfield shopping mall or East London in general. Excellent transport options serve everywhere else in the capital; that large wall map will help you navigate.

Back at home, you’ll have a private garden for warm weather drinks, while the open-plan living room works perfectly for laidback movie nights or catch up work sessions. There are also flexible sleeping arrangements with three zip-and-link beds as well as a sofa bed in the living room. 

Sweet Lavenders

Just a five-minute walk from Maryland train station, this home makes it easy to enjoy the buzz of London living. You’ll find it easy to connect with iconic spots across the city thanks to the Elizabeth Line, while the close proximity to Stratford and Hackney means you’ll have plenty to explore in the area. Parking is available here and your host can help organise extras like airport transfers for an additional fee. Back at home, you’ll have a private garden for warm weather drinks. Inside, the open-plan layout works perfectly for laidback movie nights or catch up work sessions.
